one. we met some reindeer and had reindeer on fox square as well. it was a great weekend. >> ashley: was it cold? >> carley: that was saturday. 2 degrees outside. so i wanted to put leggings on but didn't have time. the cutest thing in that picture is little miss maggie. she is the sweetest little thing. i couldn't get her jingle bell christmas necklace on. her face right there mike got the naughty cup and i got the nice cup. we actually, it was a little weird christmas for us because our power went out. i was doing the show 4:00 a.m. and oh, my gosh, i'm not going to get into the house, i don't know where my key is peer that was the least problems. the transformer blew the fire department came and put the fire out.

then, there was ice all over the road on our house, couldn't get out. and a loss of power 72 hours and the generator came on and off. >> carley: a lot going on at your house. >> ashley: there was more, there was some good news though. my brother, mitch, his wife, emily welcome to the first bay become a little baby girl sophie jane. she is the cutest thing and she's in missouri right now, 6 pounds, beautiful. >> carley: oh, my gosh, i cannot wait to meet her sophie jane was born christmas eve. i have a feeling you will be spoiling this little girl. >> ashley: i have already bought loads of things. this is for me, this is for me. >> carley: she has a christmas eve christmas eve birthday. >> ashley: i know whom i was sad about that. i wonder how people in christmas eve.

to deal with but it ended up being a lovely celebration. >> and parents, they are not normal. >> do you and your husband exchange gifts? okay, i've heard this debate with you guys on >> fox & friends: , we do. but i've opened every single one of my gifts since getting them in november. i found one, opened it, he found it, i wrapped it, he opened it. i use to unwrap my gifts particularly when i was little and wrap them back up my mom would notice. and she just found out this year 34 years. what is wrong with you? >> that is hilarious. i actually did a little bit of that, too, when i was a kid. and i found out where my mom had this -- and i would check to see which ones. you got it, you have to peek around the house.

deferring income, why? we want to lower the taxable income. there were some things you can do. first of all, maximize your contribution to your retirement plan and specifically iras. you can put in $6,000 or if 50 and above, $7,000. also get a 401(k) and take advantage of that, especially because many employers will match your contribution. recall that to cofor her. so you want to take advantage of that. next, a lot of people in the economy getting 1099s. that means you are self-employed. so there are deductions you can take advantage of that you normally wouldn't. make sure you keep all the support for those type of expenses occurring, next, stock market a little tough this year. if you have investment losses,

both shareholders and customers. disney is a great example of that and so was the nba. >> how much of the progressive activists play a role in this as well? >> that is the whole game here. what they do is create a lot of noise and do something damaging and distracting like the painting or whatever it may be peer at the media takes that and amplifies it and embarrasses the company so the companies live in fear of a tiny group of activists doing these types of stones and there is no pushback from the other side. all the risk is on one side, on the side of defending a group who really care about the step. and invest in the whole ideology and whole identity in these real kind of extreme leftist ideas and willing to go to jail for

it. so the companies rollover and go with the flow because it is cheaper for them at the end of the day than having a huge media campaign against them and how evil they are. >> that is a good point, ashley. it seems like the lobbyist situations, particularly disney, the ceos at the top, reactionary one way but then they caved to the 2022 and 23-year-old employees. the parental rights in education law in florida. >> that is right. these activist can make a lot of noise and they can do it fast. they can organize quickly. the other side of it within the company is, we have this huge, sprawling hr structure, human resources retiring people with like-minded ideas pulling from the activist group because they are supporting esg, environmental social governance policies designed to push the companies to the left.

then, he went downstairs and had waking up to people on the second floor and stabbed them to death. the two people on the first floor, which is away from the other floors were not touched. so, right now, four unsolved murder six weeks later. and real fear. >> it is a real concern. dr. baden, the families are understandably frustrated and they want answers. just quickly come are you concerned this could turn into a cold case? >> more than 50% of murder is now in the united states when we look at this from the television shows become cold cases. they don't get solved. so that has to be kept in mind. >> unbelievable statistic. >> there should be a lot of information available at the scene in close community. it doesn't look like it will become a cold case. >> we want to talk to you about

elisha fletcher. 41 years old a teacher in texas and jogging, security camera footage caught her being kidnapped and she was later found dead. what do you know about this case? do we know the motive behind the murder? >> what is interesting about the fletcher death, she has jogging as she usually did, kidnapped, caught on video, a secure video the tennessee university. and the next day, they find the perpetrator and set for trial. what happened though is another woman came forth and said about a year earlier, the same person had sexually assaulted her, her, she went to the hospital and got a rape kit. had they analyzed the rape kit at that time, she knew who it

was and he he would not have been out. and so this atrocity going on for that woman. the backup and rape kits not analyzed. >> there is also the delphi murders, liberty german, 13 years old, beautiful girls found stabbed to death 2015. just a few months ago, richard allen arrested for their mergers. this is a situation where it does show sometimes it takes a long time for a break in the case. >> worked in a pharmacy in the community and it's not clear why it took them five years to arrest him since there was a lot of evidence at the scene including an iphone. >> video, that is right. >> one of the teenagers had taken. >> there was a voice saying down
