nealy. thanks for getting up with us this morning. we've got failing test scores and we have got issue with pronouns and gender assignment, all kind of issues teachers and woke organizations are focusing on, we have already an issue because the u.s. is testing lower than the rest of the world. when you see math down five points and reading down three points and grade eight, it is down eight and three points. should we focus on transgender athletes competing in sports and how teachers can teach kids to hide gender and pronouns from their parents? erica, i will start with you? >> no, of course we should not be teaching them that. this -- these scores and academic declines, these were happening before the pandemic and what i find remarkable is

that the same people that are talking about all of these nonacademic initiatives that they are pushing, they say in the name of inclusion and social justice. before the pandemic, only one out of 10 black boys reading on great level. it has to begin with basic literacy and we're failing on that front. >> ashley: nicole, this number is startling to me, 44% of adults in the u.s. say they fear for their child's safety at school. this is grades k-12, what happened here? increase of 10 points since 2019. >> yeah, we have seen discipline issues skyrocket, that is something we hear through our tip line once, twice, three times per day across the

country. when you drop your kid at the gate, you want your kid to be safe and learn. many schools have broken that am prois. parents fear kids feel more for microaggression. school to prison pipeline, bringing in restorative justice rather than disciplining children, there will be a pat on the heads and not address the underlying problem. >> ashley: following up on what nicole just said, were the issues happening before covid and it was brought to light since there was at-home learning or is this something we're starting to deal with since 2020? >> i think the trend had begun before the pandemic and it is true with kids doing zoom school from their kitchen counter,

their parents became more aware of what was going on. to nicky's points, the death of george floyd was a catalyst for schools escalating in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, words we were able to get behind until people changed the definition of them and now are damaging schools and children rather than bringing about true diversity and inclusion. >> ashley: nicole, how can parents help change the direction we are going in coming into 2023? >> we say what the tsa says, see something, say something. we have heard on the tip line about different problems and almost 100% of tips, people want to be anonymous, they fear reper k repercussion against their

beverly, let's start with the media constant attacks on know ares, cnn headline claims it is republicans fault congress is so polarized. remember that one? "new york times" claimed republicans wrongly blamed biden for rising gas prices. what do you think about the headlines? bee saw these types of headlines and saw two words used against republicans, seize and pounce. if you did a search on republicans pounce, media are attacking them. it seems nothing republicans could do that was right this year and media saw them as bad actors all the way around. >> ashley: the media melted down over elon musk twitter takeover. "washington post" warned musk will be bad for twitter and time magazine targeted tech bro's

free speech. beverly hallberg one thing the free press could north handle this year, elon musk caused a meltdown from lambasting elon musk for exposing censorship with the fbi. journalists didn't one journalism and that is what elon musk brought to the table. >> carley: tech bro's obsession with free speech, like it is a bad thing, it is a good thing to be obsessed with. remember when the media realized the hunter biden laptop story was real, even though the "washington post" and "new york times" both confirmed the story in march, 15 months after "new york post" report on biden secret e-mails. they got to right, but it took them a really long time. beverly.

about his career, how will you be remembering fauci? >> dr. makary: a lot of people are frustrated with dr. fauci and angry at his evolving recommendations, that is not my beef with dr. fauci, not that he changed recommendations, changing recommendations is the normal healthy process of any doctor. the concern i have with dr. fauci is the way he managed the agent for the last 38 years, the agency he led failed to do critical research we needed during covid and we ruled by opinion and not by evidence. all big studies on the big topics were a year plus too late or abcents, they did not fund critical research to know it was airborne or vaccines had

administration has made today the target to end title 42. there is not a plan of action put into place. jim desmond said 646 migrants have been dropped off, this is unsustainable and the federal government doesn't care. in el paso, processing centers are overrun, migrantses are on the streets in the cold. they are bracing for thousands expected to cross each day once title 42 ends. biden administration says they have a plan for when the policy ends, but details have not been released. here is retired border patrol chief, rodney scott. >> my sources tell me there is no plan, look at the omnibus

the story you mention about border patrol agents, that is what i'm concerned about. they have been overwhelmed by administration that does not care about them. they are processing illegal aliens and sending them out not able to do their job. you put more and more upon them, i worry about emthis, in addition to what is coming in, this being not just people coming in desperately seeking a new life, there is a willing way to do this. flip side, you have drug issues and other cartel issues. this is a sad day and the biden administration, they have a super secret plan for immigration. christmas was the past few days, time to show the world what you are trying to do. >> we've been hearing about this know pla, we haven't seen details for a couple weeks now. do you believe there is a plan they have that will happen or they are saying that to pacify

at -- >> ashley: let's talk >> ashley: let's talk about the weekend border numbers astonishing, 16476 encounters. 2100 of them, more than 2100 expelled under title 42. 14,326 were released into the u.s. and that is with title 42 pretty much hanging by a threat right now because this would end at any moment in the next couple of hours. what do you foresee these numbers to look like if it does end? >> we keep thinking about it it's getting higher and higher. these are numbers that we know. this doesn't count some of the get aways and some of the people we can't get to. this situation is going to skyrocket and going to be worse especially with the weather conditions during winter. look, the cartels are playing on this. they know exactly what to do. they will send them across because they know at the end of the day, the u.s. government is completing their contract. they are getting them into the united states and sending them across the country. >> we want to ask but this study

coddling. this idea if you are doing a crime you are going to be prosecuted for it. but then taking a look at your whole situation, your drug and mental health issues and making sure we are matching these punishments. >> when you are seeing this kind of crime and violent crime. these people are not supposed to be out walking around. got to start with folks saying we are got to keep our cities and streets safe. got to come from people in this cities who keep getting caught in this trap and keep electing the solutions over and over that keep hurting them. >> ashley: the solution is getting the people in office out and a new group in. >> either that or trying to figure out why they believe the crime in their cities is okay to continue especially in the cities that are in neighborhoods that are least able to take care of themselves. this is -- this is really sad when they are preying on those with the smallest voice in their communities many times. >> carley: despite the study there seems to be no urgency at all to change any of the policies or politicians that led to this horrific crime crisis
