i'm geographically a little off. it's thursday. what can i say? we have a big show here by the way. breaking new numbers because chaos is playing out at our southern border. stunning new video, you see here, shows suspected migrants trying to break into a texas rancher's home and it's not the first time this has happened on his property. >> lisa: meanwhile in el paso passing dropping after the national guard put up razor wire fencing. >> joe: lucas is live with the latest. >> the sec representative as well on that couch. mile long stretch of el paso. just 8 days after the texas national guard spanned a guard wire fence. reinforced the perimeter after texas governor greg abbott announced his state is adding more shipping containers to other parts of the border in addition to razor wire fence. arizona was using the same strategy until it was sued by the white house, forcing the state to reverse course.

texas national guard saying, quote, the 19th, 20th and 21st of december we had large groups of families and individuals who were wanting to come across. now it's almost a ghost town out there. and here's that video obtained by our own bill melugin a texas rancher owner in edwards county about 50 miles from the border, showing this video from fox a group of men the owner says likely illegal immigrants attempting to break into her house. border patrol agents were unable to apprehend the suspects. the opener says the suspect tried to kick down the door as you see here. unsuccessful due to thousands of dollars of recently upgraded security. here are photos posted on twitter by the u.s. del rio sector. less than 24 hours bedroom ebb countered four large groups as you see here totaling over 1400 migrants calling this normal ops and not an exception. encounters with migrants along the southern border is now five times greater than it was just two years ago, guys, according to the border patrol. that is with title 42 in place.

my camera lit up. the other one came an hour before him blanking scary. the police came pretty quickly and checked around the house. >> i'm installing more motion detector lights and thinking of putting barbed wire on my front fence and of course my alarm gets set every night. >> lisa: it's scary and some of these cities around america, well, you know, one in a lot of these cities you can't defend yourself. in new york city it makes it impossible to own a gun and protect yourself unlike states like florida and texas. and then you have cities that encourage lawlessness, right? you look at cities like new york where they have done cash bail reform which led to increase in crime or the state of illinois, which is getting rid of cash bail in january, including things for like second degree murder, aggravated battery, like really serious things. and then you wonder why we have a crime process in america? then you add in these george soros prosecutors who aren't prosecuting who just encourages this lawlessness we are seeing

across the country and it's sad. people should feel safe in their own homes. >> joey: i talked earlier about the state of texas. lived in georgia very much the same. pendulum states are pro-gun or as i say pro-constitution have started making it easier for you to protect yourself. states that aren't have started making it harder. you go to a state like maryland, if you use a gun to defend yourself inside your own home you are looked at with more scrutiny than the person who broke into it and tried to do you harm. americans have a really tough choice of right now just not at the ballot box but where they want to live. states like florida growing the way it is. states like georgia and texas are growing the way we are. >> lisa: and florida. >> joey: don't california our texas and don't california our georgia. we have a way of life here that allows us to defend ourselves, to hold on to more of our money. in doing so we have more respect for each other and we don't have the same problems in our rural areas that some of these states do in pretty much every area. and you look at something like this and you think, you know, if someone broke into my house,

killed by stray bullets in shopping centers. it's absolutely true that this type of crime happens at a higher rate in much worse ways in a lot of communities that we don't get to report on because it never makes it to us because it's not shocking. it's normal, everyday life in some of these places. so the idea that crime is something that is new to us is not true. what it is, it is a tidal wave coming. you either push it back. you either go in and stop it even in those places that is common or comes to the places that it is uncommon. it is no more important that valerie bertinelli's home was broken into or any person in government housing or affordable housing somewhere. all of those people are americans that deserve safety and security and political leaders are the only ones in states like california, at least, that can provide it so they need to do it. >> lisa: you know, people go out and keep electing these people like lori lightfoot who just doesn't care. but we will get more on this later. so, coming up. texas residents are fearing for

next guests are fearing for their safety as more and more migrants continue to flood the streets. el paso resident rose and her daughter evette join us now. rose and evette, thank you for taking time. here on the cover you can see outside of el paso a young mother and her daughter saying we will get in you are living on the front lines of it there how do you feel about this, rosy? >> i feel very unsafe because now residents are getting kind of like harassed. when i -- last week that i drove out of my parking lot going to the store four guys jumped literally on the hood of my car and asked me for a ride to the hotel. and that's very unsafe. >> griff: evette, what is your reaction to this crisis which has continued to absolutely

spiral out of control and they are now setting up these tents to try and deal with it and the numbers are just off the charts. you have got more than 100,000 in el paso. what is your reaction to this? >> > it's very out of the ordinary and very scary because we don't know who is coming through to our country like this. >> griff: rosy, who do you blame for this? who do you hold accountable? should president biden be doing more? >> absolutely. he needs to come down to the border and look at this. [inaudible] should be put in place and should be executed immediately. there's a lot of people in the thousands coming in. and it's a chaotic situation. there should be a limit as to how many asylum seekers we can accept.

>> griff: evette, i see you nodding your head yes. you feel that we should limit the number of asylum seekers. what else 2k5 asylum seekers who you feel about this. >> i just feel that you no he, yes, you know, the u.s. should help people, but i just -- it's overwhelming the number of people coming through. and there does need to be a limit. >> and, specifically, rosy, as a mother, how do you feel about the crisis now has gotten to the point that schools are being used to house migrants? >> exactly. and these-via can't dishools they are preparing for the sheltering, they are inside neighborhoods, residential area. and i feel that is very wrong because we don't know who these people are. we're not racist. we're not showing help. we want to help, but we also need to be realistic as to who these people are.

we don't know if there is pedophiles. we don't know if there are rapists and those schools are inside neighborhoods. i believe they should be sheltered away from residential areas. >> griff: evette, the school superintendent along with veronica escobar, the congresswoman from that area, said we have got to do what we can to help people. do you feel that your leaders, local leaders are letting you down on this crisis? >> i do. i feel like they're kind of neglecting u.s. citizens. residents of el paso. because we should be the number one priority as to when it comes to safety and they're not thinking about that at all. >> griff: evette. i just want to ask you one last question. because dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas has visited el paso. but it appears he hasn't seen the crisis. and he won't call it that. if you can say something directly to dhs secretary

who want to go out and purchase a home right now? >> sure. so right now there is a lot of analysis paralysis. a lot of information out there and buyers and sellers really don't know what to do and the market is showing that. obviously some markets cooling. you look at san francisco and seattle down 10% from peak. where they look at markets, they are still up 0% from march of 2020. so, naturally, you know, real estate as we know is cyclical. stocks are somewhat cyclical as well. we can't expect home prices to continue to go up and up and up. we have seen these decreases but, next year for 2023. we are going to have what i call the year of normalcy. we should expect price gains to continue but not these like 10, 20, 30%. not these double dignity increases but instead a normal markets of anywhere from 5 to maybe 8%.

9%, 10%. so, if you are a seller right now and if you truly think that, you know, maybe you are not going to be able to make money. you are freaking out. something like that. it might be a good time to sell because, in most markets, you're still able to make a substantial amount of money because we have seen price gains for so long. the past two, two and a half years. >> lisa: we had the fed chairman talking about how we would see this difficult reset in the housing market. is that what we are seeing or what are you seeing? >> so, of course, you know, if you look at mortgage rates, i mean, it's been a wild ride. the past year, year and a half, we have seen under 3 percent for a 30 year fix and seen over 7% for a 30 year fixed. right now looking at anywhere from 6.2 to 6.3 for a 30 year fix and the national association of realtors expects next year to see about 5.7 towards the middle to the end of next year. i even think that we might see

anywhere from 5%, maybe even slightly lower. a lot of buyers, i would suggest that if you still find a home that you love, because, inventory is still extremely tight, find that home, lock it down, buy it now. take advantage of rates slowly coming down and then know that rates are still expected to come down next year and then you can go ahead and refinance. but the other trend that i'm seeing with buyers is that they are getting more particular. so, because rates are higher, they are not close to zero anymore. buyers really want to make sure that they have everything in that home, every bell and whistle. they are really going towards the newer home. they are trying to get builder incentives put into place. they are trying to be in the power seat again. they are trying to have that ability to say i'm not going to pay list price. i'm not going to pay overprice. i'm not going to remove my inspection contingency and appraisal con continue general civility i'm going to feel good about buying a home again.
