razor wire as it works day and night to slow the stream of illegal immigrants. >> griff: meanwhile, in another border state, arizona is delaying the removal of its shipping containers on the border until the new year. >> joey: lucas tomlinson is live in washington and i bet he has an update on this. lucas? >> i sure do. good morning. more national guard deploying to el paso to enreinforce the border installing 10 new shipping containers. american troops installing a mile of new razor wire. national guard says illegal immigration at this particular spot saw foot terrific slow to stand still. the area now resembling a ghost town according to a unit rep. some of the migrants are walking around those shipping containers and heading into the united states elsewhere. in arizona a different story. the state's republican governor doug ducey has agreed to take down a similar makeshift border wall also built from shipping containers after being sued by

the biden administration. the doj saying in a statement, quote: not only is arizona refused to halt its trespasses and remove the shipping containers from federal lands but has indicated it will continue to trespass on federal lands and install additional shipping containers. the united states brings this action to obtain appropriate relief for arizona's unlawful containment trespasses and invasion to the united states paramount sovereign property rights. that sounds a lot like the lord's prayer. since auguste spent $82 million to plug holes in the border with shipping containers. back in texas, check out this new video obtaining by bill melugin showing a federal source suspected human smuggler being chased by law enforcement. the car losing control flipping out and crashing right in front of a border patrol check point near uvalde texas. three illegal immigrants and two u.s. citizens were in the car. yesterday we showed you that video from that texas ranch house with suspects trying to break. in the owner now speaking out.

resources going after people who are trying to secure their own border than they are going after i will legal immigrant and cartels who are clearly breaking the law, engaging in asylum fraud, human trafficking. profiting by the billions every single month and the administration is worried about states taking things into their own hands and putting up shipping containers. absolutely outrageous. >> griff: we will see if the incoming new governor katie hobbs decides to, you know, bend to the progressives or whether or not we'll get actually some sort of state supplemented enforcement like you are seeing governor abbott drying to do. the bottom line is, this week we have gotten a number of numbers out there. drowned people in numbers. probably head still spinning the one that stands out more than any is 240,000 known got-aways since october 1st when the fiscal year began 90 days ago. over 2600 a day. we don't know who they are, where they came from, why they are here or where they are going in this country, but we know

that nearly 240,000 are here. and the fact that politics trumps a concern from a national security standpoint is beyond me. >> joey: griff you spent so much time south of the border embedded with caravans and groups of people democrats linchpin on this or i guess red redherring on this is basicallyl these good people that need to come here and want to be a part of our country and build it stronger and any pushback on people crossing the border illegally is somehow a pointed attack on those people. and i think that is such a false flag argument. it is so dishonest because testified, if you build a big, beautiful wall with big beautiful gates like trump talked about, that doesn't stop those people from coming here, does it? why do you have to have a completely unsecure border in order for those people to get here? that's the question that should be asked of the administration and democrats.

in. the fentanyl crisis is raging and cartels continue to profit and the corruption -- this is the one big thing that nobody is really talking about is you are seeing people from all over the united states, american citizens going down to the border now, getting hired by cartels to smuggle people across the state, across the country and once that type of corruption comes into the country, it's very difficult to get it out. and so, you know, local officials start getting paid off, when local americans are getting paid off, that's something that is very difficult to take back once it's already into the society. >> griff: i want to touch on something that you just mentioned though, katie. that is the fact that these men and women of the border patrol, and cbp did not sign up to process and transport migrants. they signed up for the job to secure our border. that was the career they chose. and many of them have been doing it faithfully and dead dedicated for decades. you look in this omnibus bill the president just signed yesterday on page 173, border

management requirements which is specifically for processing and transports and stipulate it cannot be used for building a gorgeous beautiful wall. you have to realize that is an insult to these agents who spent christmas, who will spend new year's who missed birthdays, anniversaries to try and deal with the crisis that this administration is in denial worth or worse misleading and lying about it. when they put out a statement that the border is not open. the entire world is proving that it's open. more than 139 countries have already come and more than 617,000 migrants with 240,000 got-aways that car video. >> katie: that we know about. >> griff: those are the ones trying to get away. hats off not just to border patrol but all the local law enforcement, even texas parks and wildlife is patrol the river. a lot of people are involved in this and giving up a lot of their time and very empathetic

and the heart of a servant down there. they are not just turning away bad guys but take care of children never should have been brought on the journey there. the one thing that may stymie a little bit the flow is title 42, which is this premise that covid is still in such a place that we have to have added security at the border so the supreme court said we'll keep that in. we have talked about that. but when we talk about covid in general, i don't know if anyone has been more confused over what covid is or how we should mitigate it than our own saint fauci. mr. science himself, and this morning i had a chance to interview dr. marty makary on his response. let's see. >> they get up and really aim their bullets at tony fauci. well, people can recognize there's a person there. so it's easy to criticize. but they are really criticizing science. because i represent science. i'm the bad guy to an entire subset of people because i represent something that is uncomfortable for them.

it's called the truth. it's very dangerous, chuck, because a lot of what you're seeing as attacks on me, quite frankly are attacks on science. amazing the list of things they did not study. all their funding, $6 billion and elabrador are rat fittings they had at dr. fauci's leadership they did not study masks and boosters in young people and natural immunity and vaccine complications. and paxlovid in vaccinated people. yet, they spent $1.2 billion on long covid, which has yielded nothing. so it's really a failure of science. so many times when dr. fauci said the science changed, the reality was that it was not done. what does it say that the top three discussed and circulated research studies of the year were studies that dr. fauci either down played or did not fund in any part of the nih? >> joey: what a highlight reel.

what a highlight reel. >> griff: i was so focused when did you that interview with dr. makary i wrote down, took notes he talked about the fact that fauci spent 1.2 billion on long covid which proved nothing. it studying of masks and things that impacted our lives in such a significant way makary calling it a failure of science. what does he write in his memoir that we know is now coming about really enlightening the world about the science behind the worst pandemic to hit us in 100 years? >> dr. fauci spent a lot of money at the nih funding very dangerous gorsuch frankensteining research in labs in wuhan. he said spent a lot more money doing that than he did on big questions that the american people needed answers about natural immunity about masks. he flip flopped a million times back and forth. he insulted everybody by saying if you have questions about him -- he is a government

official. he works for the government. he is the highest paid government employee that we in this country and yet, if you question his inconsistencies, he said you are attacks science and you don't understand that he is doing it for your own good. we now know that he tried to censor. he did censor other doctors who disagreed with him on lockdowns, on masks, on booster shots. on mandatory vaccination. doctors from stanford and harvard mi medical school as him wanting to be the only guy in science that we listener. to say it's not that he was wrong in his position as at the nih. he was wrong in his going around and censoring other americans in the private sector for daring to have a debate about the science and policy that impacted everybody in the country. >> joey: katie to your point and this is not your point but what you're hitting on there the accusation and now presumption of what republicans in congress hope to get to the bottom of

that he spent more time funding and creating covid than they did mitigating it and understanding it in the year and a half, two years for some in their minds three years it terrorized us economically. psychologically, divided us against each other and obviously the negative or the fact that it did kill people and it is a disease that was harmful to a lot of people. so all the things that came from covid, that our nih and perhaps dr. fauci spend sp more time funding the creation of it than actually mitigating it and helping us get through it, that is quite -- that's quite an accusation. >> katie: and working with facebook to quash any mention of the lab leak theory for a year. there are emails between mark zuckerberg and anthony fauci about working together to make sure that the lab leak theory didn't get out to the public and it wasn't a topic of conversation. and i think congress will try to get answers about why they didn't want that to be discussed on that social media platform. >> griff: he bought himself a front row seat at congressional

pastor corey brooks. pastor, thanks for joining us. >> thank you. >> joey: you spent more than 200 days on a roof top to call attention to violence and crime and the fact that our political leaders need to be a part of the solution not the problem. how do you react to this? >> well, you know, in an attempt to fix what they believe is a cash bail system that disproportionately impacts minorities they fail to take into consideration the impact minority victims have in our neighborhood. this safety act that they believe is somehow going to be bring more safety to our neighborhoods and fix the problem is not going to do that. it does not do anything but add to more failures that these leftist policies have been doing. used to be defund the police and now it's empower the criminals. that's unfortunate. >> joey: i want to read you the response. the today's ruling is a setback for the principles we fought to

protect through the passage of the safe-t act. worked to replace antiquated criminal justice system with a system rooted in equity and fairness we cannot and should not fail to defend a system that fails to keep peep safe allow those threat of their community the ability to simply buy their way out of jail. you talk about spin. this is -- i'm a little bit dizzy from that. but, in that response, it seems democrats are really pushing this under the guise of empathy and grace and saying, you know, these young men that may credit a crime don't deserve to have their lives ruined. as a pastor, i feel like you might know something about empathy and grace and explain to me how accountability is also a part of that. >> yeah. i believe in reconciliation. i know there is a lot of recidivism and people need help and assistance to get back on track. i believe that with all of my heart. i also believe in accountability. i know that when they talk about equity and talk about these criminals getting equity, they

are not taking into consideration the victims. every single day we work at project h.o.o.d. with victims, with families who have been impacted by violent crimes and who are having struggling times getting back on track. i wish they would put more emphasis on the victims of these crimes and on fixing our neighborhoods than giving these criminals more power. we need to move away from race but see them for what they are and that's being criminals. and these hardened criminals need to do the time. they need to be accountable. we're not talking about petty crimes here. we're not talking about that type of situation. we're talking about hardened criminals. >> joey: exactly. let's talk about the crimes that are being committed. this is in chicago. these are the crime stats. theft is up 56%. i mean, that's amazing. robbery up 14%. burglary up 14%. obviously all of those are versions of taking things from people that do not belong to you. which is another part of the democrat platform, i guess. what do you think? i guess, what i want to ask you

be very successful. >> katie: so republicans are going to be taking over the house here in four days. have vowed to do some oversight on big tech and the relationship with the fbi. homeland security. but, as we know from twitter files, there wasn't just one topic that was censored by the federal government. it was the afghanistan withdrawal. covid-19 policy that was at odds with the white house. whether it was other issues that the government didn't want out there, so, what -- you know, what topics do you see taking a front seat as republicans take control and launch these investigations? >> >> i mean, let me, again, give you a couple of findings from the latest harris poll. 67% want an investigation into what were the tech companies doing, whether it was the hunter biden laptop, or the election, or censoring americans, rather than the kwr- idea of censoring foreign governments that were the justification for having 80

husband who lives here. she lives in l.a. the day after christmas she couldn't get a flight out southwest january 1st. southwest wasn't responding. there is the internal thing but in the larger scheme of things as democrat congressman ro khanna points out does pete buttigieg own this? >> he becomes the face of it right now. he does. right? i mean, the culprit here is the internal systems. the software that southwest airlines uses. even the head of their pilot's union came out and said this has been a major problem for decades. >> we literally cannot find and get the pilot to the plane with the crew. we can't get it together. that's why we have seen 15, 16,000 cancellations this week. so it is southwest's problem. but southwest also got $7.2 billion in taxpayer money. audit that now? how was that spent? why wasn't it given to investing in their own infrastructure to prevent a situation like this? but so far, pete buttigieg has
