us. >> good to see you again. police say the suspected killer was a phd student for criminal justice and criminology and washington state university. i was just on the ground they are covering this story. the university of idaho over the murders happened in washington state university are basically neighboring cities is an easy 15 minute drive away. bryan was up originally from the poconos. fox news digital spoke to some of the suspected killer's classmates at pleasant valley high school. they described him as a shy genius. he was awkward and girls in particular mocked him, threw things at him and bullied him. a classmate at northampton community college also says kohberger was awkward in his intelligence stood out among his peers even his own his higher level classes for that on the west coast in pullman, washington where he was living, a neighbor at his apartment buildings that he was quite did not appear to live a lifestyle out of the ordinary. and also this poster earlier

on the ground in moscow during a credible reporting. she did do a sitdown interview with the moscow police chief. she asked the question so many of us are also asking, take a listen. >> does the suspect to have any known connection to the victims or the victim's extended network? or do you believe these four victims are randomly targeted? >> that is part of the investigation we are still putting pieces together. we are still gathering information for that's what we still ask people, send us tips on the individual. send us any information you have it. because that is all going to build part of that picture that is going to give us even more information. >> bryant she told kristine that they 400 calls within an hour. how did they or to question how exactly they got to the point where they were getting to the point to rest this guy. >> hey alicia green to be with you and happy new year. i think the game changer was the

car. i have learned they trace the car for weeks and it finally located it. that is what led them to kohberger. what really concerns me here, we are all happy he has been arrested. but we cannot do the celebration he has not been convicted. let's walk to the process for the first stage of a murder prosecution is an arrest. it takes less evidence to get an arrest warrant than it does to sustain what's called a preliminary hearing is going to have to happen in a couple weeks in idaho in an actual trial. why's that important? these forensic experts are going to have to work around the cl clock. you've got for potential crime scenes you've got the scene of the crime, his apartment, you've got the parent tone, and you've got the car. they have got to be scouring all four of those especially the car now. for example any bloodstains in the car, any hair fibers on the seat of the carpet in the fingerprints on the steering wheel that might have dna.

here's another big game changer. this could be the breaking piece of evidence in this case, they are need to get a dna swab of kohberger. either he doesn't voluntarily or they've got to get a court order asap to get his dna swab. two of these victims had defense wounds. i bet you anything there might be his skin under the fingernails of two of these victims. they will now be able to do that dna match. i think that is really what's going to break this case. the last point i want to make is you've got his phone you've got to go back to phone records any text messages. it would really help the case you could show he knew these victims were the chief came out said this was targeted so is he texting any of these victims on social media? was he connected to any of these victims? and also his bank records. >> we do not have those answers yet because under idaho law everything is sealed until he gets to the state of idaho. which leads me to the question

of extradition progress extradition hearing next week. could he fight this in a way that will significantly slow things down? or do you think he will be in idaho by next week? >> i think he will be in idaho by next week. and again i'm not defending this guy. if he is smart and talk to lawyers and his lawyer is smart they would waive extradition, why? that accelerates the process. under idaho law for example within 14 days of him having his first court appearance in idaho there has to be a polin neri hearing. that is critical. the prosecutors need to have substantial evidence at that per luminary hearing to prove each element of the crime. that is why this forensic analysis process is crucial. it's got to be done 24/7 within the next two weeks. alicia: brian claypool weeks appreciate your expertise today and want to wish a happy new year. >> thank you so much happy new year. >> thank you.
