we have covered just about everything from politics, the pop culture, and everything else in between. we have a huge show i had today including our resolutions and our predictions for 2023. i cannot believe i'm saying t that. we are also going to take a look back at our bus to see moments from the show in the last year. and don't forget our favorite viral videos from 2022. plus we are answering your fan mail questions. but first, it is our big five stories of 2022. we are each taking a look at the top headlines from the past year. jesse, you go first. >> warren ukraine, just dominated the spring season. we covered a wall to wall here at fox news channel. you've not seen tanks in the european theater like that for decades. really shocked the country, shock the world due to that type of brutality again in that part of the world.

the stock market took a hit. energy prices were affected, supply chains, food prices, really scrambled the entire european energy policy. we are still feeling the repercussions of it. it is a cold winter. it is going to continue could continue for years you never know how it's going to play out. this wasn't the story of the year according to jesse watters. >> okay data? >> i agree certainly on ukraine and the ramifications of that are going to continue through 2023. as is a story i chose which is the one on the border, the southern border. just a couple of points here, and all of 2020 there were 4,258,000 encounters at the border. we are to a half months in two fiscal year 2023 there are already 505,000. that is not counting 140,000 got a ways. fox news has covered the story every single day. it is astounding to me how every

morning on america's newsroom we can turn to bill or griff, or nate foy, however some the border for us and you can see oh dana, bill 300 migrants just came across and it is daybreak over here at eagle pass, texas or del rio it's also happening in arizona, new mexico and california. this is also not just bringing immigrants who are illegally entering the country, they are now fanning out across the country. so every state, every locality is affected by. every school, every hospital. there is no end in sight. we're about too have a big change in this country and uses some of the protections and reasons we could turn the weight migrants is being blocked by courts of title 42 public health issue. now we are looking at having thousands of migrants every day coming into the country. i have never been somebody as we are for open borders. to me physical borders totally open. the commander-in-chief of blind

week i was listening something like in one week people from 96 different countries arrived through the border illegally. but tyrus what is your take on the border of what dennis talking about? i'm using the term it's like a gateway for what we are seeing a ripple down effect across the country. not saying everyone who crosses the border from dana's point is a criminal or a terrorist. we also have a leaf encinal coming in. we are creating more problems for our residents. the neighborhoods that are directly next to the border overwhelms. the cities and towns are overwhelmed with no help in sight. >> jessica and the sad part about it is now assuming people are coming through with title 42 basically being eliminated we are hearing about people who are sleeping on the streets.

there are not enough beds is cold in texas right now. the humanitarian way to handle it would at least create some kind of safety net for them. >> that is what happened before the number skyrocketed to these levels there was a push to build enough facilities. now we found a 1500 beds are not an after getting 3000 people a night and will need to do about it? use exactly the right word, humanitarian. whatever crisis you want to have if you want to have a national security crisis that's fine if that some republicans want to talk about it. but democrats if you and talk with the human level is just as important was on the national security side. there are people who are becoming homeless. there are people who are being raped coming across here. people who are selling their children people flat out dying making this very, very dangerous journey. >> and jesse, why is the administration not addressing the issues jessica's talking about?

[inaudible] threw. >> onto my story of the everett my story of the year pastors elon musk exposing twitter. i think this is the biggest story of the year because for centuries as americans, in fact this country was founded on the concept of free speech. the first amendment, the ability to say what you want. that first amendment is not just address you and i speaking. it addresses the power of the press and the ability of the press do not suffer from prior constraints. and what we had in america and what we saw as a result of elon musk exposing what was going on

at twitter was that there was a prior restraint. there was suppression of free speech. there was suppression not only of free speech but suppression in one direction so that there would be an election impacted in one particular way and not both ways. and i think this chilling censorship indicates to me the end of a democracy. just as with the border we are now no longer a sovereign nation but a globalist landing spot with benefits. we now have a press that is not holding up is part of the deal as the fourth estate. all of us americans relied on to check what government was doing. to be that for the state. it is not happening anymore. when the head of twitter was called before congress he lied and he lied under oath. now he can say i didn't know what was going on in my own company. hogwash.

you knew jack dorsey why you were called before congress. you knew the issue had to do with hunter biden. and you knew there is 51 officials and intelligence officials who said it look like intel like russian disinformation. so you knew there was an issue there you had to address before he went to a congress but no, you put your hand down for you swore to tell the truth and you lied. the search results being manipulated that affected a federal election for the end of the first amendment to me is when the biggest story is not only of 22, but of the century so far. what say you jesse? >> i agree. in 10 years we may even see this being bigger because things are still coming out. elon confessed he said i'm here to save democracy. i'm here to say free speech. the fact he plowed what 44 billion into this thing and then wrestled it away from the grip of the fbi, the cia, the democratic national committee

shows you how fast we were veering towards not the republic we know and love. and thank you to elon musk for doing that. everybody owes this guy a big debt of gratitude progress i could not agree take on it? >> if you look back in history news is a good time to do that. think not only just the past year but in the scope of things to come very think with the history books are written people will look back at this. in say social media has been given this free reign for a while because nobody knew what is going to be like. and then it turns out to be something we realized oh gosh that's not very good. in fact it very destroys leading to destruction of some parts of our democracy. until elon musk takes a pan and burst the balloon. and now we can offer a chance to regroup for next year you might seem some attempts by congress to do something about it. however congress is always by the times and it comes to technology. the private sector will have

[laughter] that so i call it. there are three main takeaways in the midterm results. we also your constant campaign mode and we get off a few days before start going into what happens in 2024. there were some pretty big lessons from it. first, maybe joe biden isn't that bad? just a thought one of the points you made a couple months ago was really salient which is people just don't hate him they way they hate others. >> i tried to get you do try and sometimes you it is really important point he does not raise this level of fire, animosity as a hillary or barack obama we can talk about why they may be i think most of understand certainly why i think that is. joe biden had the most successful midterm since the 1930s. it's a really big deal there's a house majority for the

republicans very slight. kevin mccarthy not being able to corral the caucus as he exp expected. so that's a really interesting aspect of it per the two other things i that i think are important of the midterm results, first while the importance of the issue of abortion for the dobbs ruling may have not been the gift republicans that they thought it was but i understand for a lot of pro-life activists this is the long game. it's not about winning an election today or in two years, four years whatever it is it's about protecting life and the way they see it. but people showed up democrats, a lot of republicans a lot of moderates he said was going on very conservative states is unacceptable. you'll see a lot more of these referendums like in kansas and kentucky, michigan and you had jim messina on america's newsroom right after we said yeah were going to run the table on this and make sure everyone votes on it. the third point that is important, donald trump's impact on the midterms was terrible just like it was in 2020. lost the senate as again as a

result of hand-picked candidates he thought were great. that ended up being really terrible he has declared to run for president right now it looks like a campaign in name only. and he is losing a lot of sailings in the party. >> happy new year. >> oh, i am starting the border is open, we have no free speech. democrats won three quick what your big story for 2022? >> crime and homelessness they go hand-in-hand. we have seen more videos this year of america's being awful to each other. and little or no consequences the democrats rebels heard a lot of families and has destroyed businesses. and again this is where i talk about the border. fentanyl coming in, fentanyl and meth another two leading causes of homelessness in this country. those numbers have almost doubled. in a few months and now they will triple in there is no help there is no media attention to it we do not see it. china manufactures it, they send it to mexico to be made and then it comes to american kills our kids. once not being killed by thin up so strung out screen we see the

number two, i think the u.s.a. government will ban tiktok in america, and i think the bengals will win the super bowl. >> my prediction is even though biden thinks he's got this thing wrapped up, he will definitely be primaried. >> my first prediction will be the brooklyn will be in the top six in the east. that's a big deal for this team. >> they are 13th. jennifer coolidge wins the emmy again for the second season.
