winter. the city of berlin, new hampshire, has a 17% poverty rate, but the white house figured they could use a $20 million heated sidewalk. surprise-surprise, the city residents didn't want it. >> what's the worst part about living here? >> the worst about living here is probably just isolation from like any major stores. >> a 45-minute drive to everything. >> there's a lot of people on the street here. there's a lot of drugs. >> there's nothing >> how does it feel to not only be first in the primaries but first in the country to get joe biden's heated sidewalks? >> honestly i think that's kind of a waste of money. >> we do not need heated sidewalks on main street. there's hardly any stores there. >> the money could be used toward something more beneficial. >> the stupidest thing they ever came up with. they put in heated sidewalks at the big apple, and it ices over

blast from the petroleum reserves, bringing down oil prices. >> jesse: joe just told us there's a high chance of nuclear armageddon, the type of emergency you might want to save up for, not democrats losing the senate. the rest of the press conference joe wasted yelling at opec, american manager people, and guys that own gas stations. our very own stupid son of stee ducey asked about it. >> how his the administration trying to put them out of business? >> they produce fossil fuels. the president said he wants to end that. >> jesse: about a minute later, the baguette lover says she's considering banning american oil. >> how seriously is the administration considering a ban on u.s. petroleum products?

>> so everything is on the table. >> jesse: did you catch that? the biden administration is considering banning u.s. petroleum products? i'm going to assume the french souffle doesn't know what she's talking about. there's mobile home in her blouse buttons, her high heels and makeup. don't worry. joe will restock the reserves when the price dips down to $70 a barrel, but blocked trump when he wanted to restock when oil was $24 a barrel. joe is draining the stockpile, like when he drained the ppe stockpile, remember? just like he's draining our weapons stockpile. don't worry. he'll send it to chinese, the companies with the hunter connection, and use the revenues to buy guns for irs agents. see how this works? american energy companies don't get to drill, create jobs and make money.

>> jesse: the world is full of scammers and crooks. we all know somebody who got an email from a nigerian prince asking for their social security number so they could wire them money, but what if i told you the u.s. government is run by nigerian princes, and their biggest scam is green energy. i'm not against renewables, if it saves money, if it's clean, i'm in. green is not ready for primetime, no pun intended, and probably won't ever be. you still need oil and gas to run the country. biden is tossing around so much money, and democrats think it's great public relations-wise, they're destroying the environment. here's what i mean. the democrats are planning putting thousands of windmills up and down the east coast. not only are they ruining the

view, but destroying ocean life and are going to be fishermen out of business. one of the coastlines getting littered with windmills is new jersey. the company doing it isn't even american, it's european. the electricity prices are going to skyrocket. same with seafood prices. you think lobster roll is expensive now? cod is cheap? forget about it. "primetime" went down to the shore to talk about fishermen about what's going on. >> i've been a licensed commercial fisherman since 1982. >> i've been in the business for 32 years. >> i've been involved with the industry since i've been knee-high. >> it's heartbreaking to know what my family has built for generations could be erased overnight. we've been fishing these waters since columbus came to this one, and they want to take that away from us. >> i don't think we can survive with the windmills. i really don't.

in front. everyone we have a financial crisis that's going to happen and put thousands of people out of work. >> they're going to destroy us. they're literally putting them in our best sources of fishing grounds. >> when you think about 2,100 wind turbines, you're talking about carpet bombing over 2,000 square miles of our ocean. >> while your scallops, clams, crustaceans, anything that can't swim out of the way is killed. >> restaurants that get the fish from here, they're going to be devastated also. >> you don't hear about this in the media because it's a cover-up, something they had preplanned for a long time. >> these are foreign countries, coming in, developing our ocean, right? it's our taxpayers' money that's offsetting the expense. >> i don't understand where these foreign companies get to lease or buy land in the ocean. they're buying all these lots from government. government doesn't care. they're getting kickbacks. they're being paid off. >> fighting people with endless funds that just want to put the

commercial fishing community out of business. >> we've been kicked and we've been held down, but we're still fighting. yeah. we don't do this for the money. we do this because this is what we love. you know, it's what we know. it's what we're good at. >> if the windmills are put in, i don't know where we'll fish anymore. >> jesse: gave me the chills. the fisheries liaison, thanks for joining us. you're up a little north from where we are, in the rhode island area. tell us what the impact is. that was really sad to watch. >> yeah. so, jesse, offshore wind is the greatest existential threat to u.s. commercial fishing -- to the u.s. commercial fishing industry right now. if all of the wind farms go in as planned, where they're planned, that's it. the east coast is done. >> jesse: is there anything we can do? >> yes. >> jesse: what do suggest that

people do, that people that fish in these waters, the people that live on the coast, the people that enjoy seafood? what do we do? >> umm, i would say contact every legislator that you have. umm, and tell them this is not acceptable. umm, and people better get out and vote in november. that's a big deal. people better get out and vote in '24. >> jesse: this has to be stopped on the federal and state level. they should be tying this thing up with lawsuits for eternity, because it's going to destroy new england. destroy it. all right. >> yes. >> jesse: thank you very much for coming on, meghan, it's hard breaking to talk about it. it's an important issue. we'll cover it throughout the rest of the year as long as it takes to stop this project. >> thank you. i appreciate it. >> jesse: not only are crabs delicious, but they're a way of

life. >> there we go. >> jesse: look at that. >> feast your eyes. >> what the hell is that? >> these are crabs. >> people got to eat. we're going to sell these on the street. we're crab people now. >> jesse: that way of life is under attack in alaska, the state that provides the united states with 60% of our seafood. climate crazies are holding the crabs hostage. for the first time ever they're canceling the upcoming snow crab season. government agencies say warmer waters killed 90% of the snow crab population, but that's a number that local fishermen dispute. and also red king crab, even though the stock is healthy. fishermen have a tough decision to make? what do they do? can their family businesses last? they say the government

overstepped, focusing on the wrong solutions. we're joined from anchorage, alaska. what is the government getting wrong banning snow crab season? >> let me paint a picture for you, jesse. the government does a survey out in the bering sea. they have the scientists come in and do a survey. they tell us the allowable catch that we are able to catch. they told us this year that there the season is down, but we are still at the threshold of having a sustainable small season, but yet they she tell us down. >> jesse: so they're saying they have a survey. have you been able to see the survey? have you ever been able to question the science behind the survey they claim they did in the waters? >> the survey's all done by the government. there's no third-party. you can't question the government on their numbers,

right? >> we do get to see the numbers that are derived from the survey, but the way they extrapolate the numbers is so astronomically able to be skewed, we don't know what the numbers actually mean in the end. some of our fisheries, our crab stock has depleted a little bit, but we've seen that over the years. it's gone up and gone down. been out there for 45 years, and i've always seen it change every year. up and down, the crab resources. >> jesse: captain, you've been doing this for decades. you've seen warmer waters, colder waters. you've seen populations grow and dip, this is just the way life is? >> yeah. i've been harvesting crab out on the bering sea for over 45 years. there's 500,000 square miles in the bering sea. to not even be able to harvest a small fraction, which we wanted the regulars to open up, just a small fraction, just to keep us afloat, they wouldn't do it. these vessels take a lot of

money, maintenance, upkeep, insurance, mortgage fees. just enough to keep us afloat would have been helpful. we're taking so much money out of our reserves we can't sustain this. >> sterling, what's this going to do for the fishermen out there? >> this is my family business. this is what i know. i've done this since i was 7 years old with my dad, we've gone fishing, with my brothers, other families around the industry. they're shutting down the alaskan snow crab industry for the first time in history, without any real answer why, other than, oh, the crab aren't there, but the russians can go out and fish crab. the canadians have a healthy snow crab stock. when they bring the climate change, scientists are saying -- it's so complicated, it gets really frustrating. >> jesse: all right. we'll talk off camera, talk to my producers, we'll find out who's in charge, making decisions up there. we'll do a follow-up segment on

infrastructure money, bu. >> jesse: we recognize the trillion dollars you spent, but we have to note, where is all the cash going? where are the roads and bridges? where's the internet? one project in arizona, a $25 million antiracist birdwatching bridge in the middle of nowhere. folks there didn't seem to appreciate it. >> absolute waste of money. >> it's definitely not a place that i would have recommended that we build a footbridge. >> probably like most programs of that type, a gigantic waste of money. the proverbial bridge to nowhere. >> jesse: this week we went to rural washington state to check out his latest vital project, a $50 million electric ferry. you're paying a big chunk of the bill. it will be shuttling people on and off loomey island and only 900 people live there. they don't have streetlights or

gas stations. they don't need them. somehow they need a $50 million electric hybrid ferry. a ferry is important if you live on an island. it's the only way to get on and off, but they already have one, working for years, but there's a problem, it runs on diesel, and that's not allowed under this administration. everybody needs to be electric, no matter what the cost. keep in mind, this island gets of its electricity from coal. so this thing isn't even really green, it runs on coal, but mayor pete says it's time to bury the old ferry in a landfill. >> in rural washington state, a ferry is the only way to get to lummi island. people's cars are damaged using it, it's and it's down a lot of the time. the new ferry will be an electric battery hybrid. >> jesse: ooh, all of a sudden the old ferry is dangerous and unreliable. something is not adding up. we went to lummi island to find

"primetime" looked into this

today and in most cases the answer is no, they did not build it. they took the money obviously, but in many cases the projects come in overbudget and behind schedule, if they get done at all. take california's gravy train, for example. high-speed rail, the $33 billion train was supposed to run from san francisco to l.a., but due to politics the project is a train wreck, engineers all around the world are laughing at us. they told california that they were going to build a morocco instead, where it was, quote, less politically dysfunctional. ha-ha-ha. the 12-year project has now entered year 14, and there still is no end in sight. it could take another hundred years to finish this. it's going to cost more than $130 billion. the fail rail is currently costing taxpayers $2 million a day. no, it doesn't go to san francisco anymore. or l.a. the stations had to be moved to stockton and riverside, you

know, hot tourist destinations. they're building this train to nowhere, whether californiaians want to or not, and will say anything to brainwash you in believing you want this train. the former governor won't tell you this, but he got the idea a "simpsons" episode. >> throw up your hands and raise your voice. ♪ ♪ >> jesse: the democrats might not know this, but "the simpsons" is a abc news. the real world looks more like this. >> datsun, toyota, mustang, buick, four-wheels and a seat. a want a car [bleep] right now. >> jesse: the bullet train is a dud, dana. how could anybody have predicted this? >> oh, i don't know. i think "the simpsons," jesse, they're prophets or something.

this whole bullet train thing, this high-speed rail, this light rail in california, is like the winchester house of public works, because all this money, hundreds of millions of dollars, and i was reading -- i don't know how this happens -- that they were even issuing construction contracts, even though they had no land at all whatsoever to build on, and that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of construction delays and all this other kinds of stuff. i mean, who would have thought, that a state entirely run by democrats, jesse, would have this sort of problem, doing something they said was so simple. i mean, we're all shocked. >> jesse: dana, thank you so much for joining us. i feel like you're the type of person that might fly from san francisco to l.a. don't strike me as a train person. >> i really like driving. i would want to get my big giant guzzler and terrify people with a woman driving it.

$25 million bridge to nowhere. he's giving arizona all that cash to put a footbridge over a dried-up river. there's nothing around it. there's a few warehouses, a couple of hiking trails, and some empty lots. why are they building it? the mayor says this bridge could make phoenix the birdwatching capital of america. >> our state ranks third in the nation for birdwatching. this is one of the premiere locations. many of my fellow mayors are jealous today. >> jesse: not a single mayor is jealous of your $25 million birdwatching footbridge to nowhere. not a single one. it's not just the birds. you see, phoenix has plenty. bridges crossing that river, plenty, but this one is different. this one is equitable. >> this project addresses so many of our shared priorities. sustainability and equity. the south phoenix community predominantly black and hispanic communities have dealt with underinvestment, being overburdened and underserved,

where nature and human decisions serve to divide in the past, this bridge will do what transportation is all about, which is to connect. >> jesse: i didn't know rejection blacks and hispanics were such avid birdwatchers, and the existing only white footbridges weren't allowing them to sneak a peek at cameras through their binoculars. $25 million later, problem solved. we talked to folks in arizona to see if they're as excited as we are. >> what's the worst part about living in arizona? >> everybody moving to arizona. all the californians moving there. >> it's 120 in the summer. >> it's just so hot. >> what do you think the state needs right now? >> a border that works. >> joe biden is not giving you the border, but giving you a brand-new footbridge in the middle of nowhere. >> it's an absolute waste of money. >> it's definitely not a place that i would have recommended that we build a footbridge. >> probably like most programs of that, a gigantic waste of
