him. after the game, postponing the game out of grave concern about his health. >> ainsley: garrett tenney live with the forecast. >> good morning. you can tell something was wrong 5 minutes into the first quarter of the game. >> damar hamlin playing defense for the buffalo bills. the bengals receiver this was not a violent, vicious collisions but hamlin popped back up. a moment later he wobbled and fell straight backwards. the medical personnel rushed onto the field, performed cpr for 9 minutes using a defibrillator until his heartbeat was restored while other players, a lot of them visibly shaken shielded hamlin from the crowd and the cameras. the ambulance came onto the field 3 minutes later. eventually rushed the 24-year-old to the uc medical center, level 1 trauma center a few minutes down the road appear the buffalo bills tweeted out,

"damar hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and his heartbeat restored on the field and he was transferred to the uc medical center for further testing and treatment. he is currently sedated and listed in critical condition." the game has been indefinitely postponed. the fans gathered outside of the hospital overnight, some of them holding candles. the entire sporting world is offering thoughts and prayers for sp damar hamlin and josh aln who tweeted, "please pray for our brother. in collision with him when med emergency and my prayers and thoughts go out to the family. i'm praying that you pull through, bro. in the hours since his collapse, the bills mafia bengals fans and folks across the nation looking for a way to help have donated more than $3 million to aches and unity drive in hometown of pittsburgh that growing by the

can transport the player as quickly as possible. all of the protocols were followed. now, it is fingers crossed and hoping for this kids recovery. >> brian: michelle, watching the coverage last night, we were able to see the coaches and players talking in the hallways, the alleyways, can you describe as a reporter, what are you there to do when the game stops and this becomes a new story? >> this happened to me in 2013 and december, december 2nd gary kubiak the head coach of east and texans collapsed at halftime. we didn't know if he would live or die. we were very, very careful. so the first thing is you have to be very cautious. you have to lock in. you become less about xs and os and more about "get it right." yes, you want to have it right away and answer the questions, but you want to get it right. so you are observing everything you can possibly observe. you are getting as close as you can. but of course, in a situation like this it is very sensitive. you want to keep the prez away

to before and after the merger spirit alexa adams with the latest, lexus. >> hi, ainsley the first time we will see bryan kohberger in person since those murders in idaho. in the courthouse behind me and the leader this afternoon the investigators have quite a lot of evidence against a suspect but kohberger's attorney tells everyone his client is looking forward to being exonerated. take a look a mug show mug shot, kohberger faces four counts of first-degree murders and a burglary charge. the 28-year-old to waive extradition and will be taking by u.s. marshals to moscow, idaho. returning to the city where he stabbed these four innocent university of idaho students to death inside of their home back in november. the detective said he drove off. kohberger was a student at washington state, which is only a ten minute drive, ainsley, from the scene. he was starting to get a phd in criminology.

and economy back on track? let's as they promised behind the study, his name is eric and he is a stanford economist. good morning to you, thank you. >> thank you for having me on. >> how did you come up with these numbers? you say our country will lose $28 trillion and will cost eric had $70,000 over the course of their lifetime? >> yes that is the l loss of lifetime earnings on average. it will be more for some but disadvantaged kids in particular with larger learning losses than kids who have more damage parents and can help at home. sp>> ainsley: how did you come up with that? we have been testing students in the united states, stanford students for 25 years now. and we have recently tested students in the spring of 2022.

we have previous tests in the spring of 2019. if you look at the comparisons of what kids did in the math test in 2019-2022, it is remarkably different. there was a great fall off an average performance of students and it erased actually 20 years of gains in terms of student performance. that 20 years is really costly to both the students and to the economy. >> ainsley: server, we just showed the numbers. we got the nation's report card back in october, the report card. reading down three points, math down and for the parents out there watching come if they have a daughter, son, they want their child to have that extra $70,000 over the course of their lifetime. can we recover what our kids have lost? can we make it up to them or anything we can do as parents? >> we can't really make it up but the thing i have to point

out is these losses are permanent unless we make our schools actually better than they were before. right now the schools are just struggling to get back where they were march 2020. but in fact, they only get back to march of 2020, these kids will suffer in the economy will suffer forever. we have to make the schools better. the way we knew how to do that is to make sure there are effective teachers for every kid. right now, all of the schools in the nation were almost all of them have a lot of money sitting there from federal covid aid that they haven't spent. they could use these funds to provide sentence for the effective teachers to take out a few more kids. and maybe even to buy out some contracts of ineffective teachers. >> ainsley: eric, thank you so much for joining us. >> well, thank you for having me. >> ainsley: you are welcome.
