>> greg: why did he take so long and do it now? is it because of what you said yesterday that he's taking advantage of the chaos? >> dana: i think it has to do with the fact of two things, he's going to mexico for a visit and that means that you're going to visit the country where you're having all of these problems on the southern border and you will not have visited the border. that something that would be impossible for them to continue to ignore in the other thing is i believe they are getting ready for him to announce he's going to run for reelection in 2024 and not going to the board before that will have been untenable so i think those two things came together. it's fortuitous that he's making the announcement in the midst of all the other chaos which is what the media loves to focus on and not so much this. they ignore the crisis for so long that remember when we said something had to change? what changed? in the media's mind when did they start covering it? it's when the republican

governor started busing migrants to the cities and now you have mayors in chicago and d.c. and new york city and philadelphia, then you've got the governor of colorado saying i'm sending more migrants to new york and democrat saying a problem that we can't be the only one dealing with this. it's a national problem and local resources are being strained. it made a big difference and i don't know if you could say helps on the way for the border states because downloading an app's not really going to cut it when 3 million people are coming across the border. hardly any mention of the got a ways and people who were caught with a criminal record or on the terrorist watch list. major problems and looking for a silver lining and good news is that because he's going, they are going to have to cover it and more people will be aware of what's happening. if >> greg: wonder if joe knows what downloading an app i. >> was the one thing he handed

dana was right, and i'm glad she was right. remember when i was congress and president bush the second half and vice president cheney would wake up at times and someone would be in iraq or afghanistan, they did that for security purposes and i'm glad to see the president announce it. there is four pillars and everybody's been right, the administration has not focused on the issue and one of the fact of the reasons that they lost a congress is the lack of focus and coherent policy. at the border you've got to look at fentanyl, the human trafficking, figure out ways to send more law enforcement and support. i hope the president will make mention of the things that they got wrong the border security agents on the horses that got mischaracterized. we pushed a reset button. you've got to figure out what you do with asylum and the process down there is so bad we have a policy where if you show up at the border and say things are bad at home we can give you

a hearing. it's got to change. if we need a better process not streaming e legality but streamline who can come in and why. you've got to make it clear around workers and students. we've got to make it clear. people who went and stood in line and did it legally has to be for they can get in. the hemispheric buy-in has to be there. mexico is not going to take everybody but we have this policy under president trump a variation and we need something smart like that and even more visionary going forward. i'm criticizing the administration in the past and i'm glad he's going there, and i hope there's a willingness once congress gets in for republicans to put pressure on the president and the president to put pressure on them with a policy that make sense it makes us safer. >> to harold's diplomatic points, should we accept the fact better late than never and applaud joe biden for coming

you change the laws, these people are still entering as god always. it's all talk and behind him, i must've missed the report. maybe you got it. i didn't see it either. but the truth is i believe that the moderate -- that the democrats who are in trouble this last midterm saying joe, you've got to go down there. if you don't go down there, we are all in trouble and that is why even now governors like the one in colorado, democratic governors are pushing illegals out of his state because he doesn't want them either. if this is a situation where his own parties forcing him to go there and saying how dare you? this is an invasion of the southern border of people we know nothing about ms-13, fentanyl, killing 100 people a day in the united states. your telling us the border is secure. nonsense! until he proves that it secure, i don't believe a word he says.

it's interesting that kevin has not lost anymore either. you keep getting the same result over and over again. to hold arms aren't getting what they want and the 200 or so that her with kevin mccarthy right now are staying and it could be that apparently that there is some progress perhaps with the ones who are the never kevin's but the ones who want significant changes including one of the things asking him for is to have some people jump the line of seniority in order to get it? is that fair? i don't know. i'd imagine if it happened and they got skipped over they'd be furious and they'd say it's the establishment doing it to us. so the feelings are going to get even more raw i think as it continues on, however it felt like there is a little glimmer of hope that maybe this can be done by next week i guess. i'm not going to say -- i don't think it's going to -- >> jesse: you're pretty good with predictions. >> dana: i'm 1 for 1 this year so far.

the prom so they're upset about those and blaming kevin mccarthy. what i would do if i'm kevin mccarthy at this point, i think you've got to be serious about all the republicans and democrats have to be serious about isolating the 21 people who don't want to be a part. they should all come together and figure out who they want to elect and will probably be kevin. scrapping the deals with those and go work a deal with some democrats and -- if i'm a democrat, if he can't win without them. whatever the number is, they are the ones who should feel most affronted by what he's doing in terms of caving into the 21 republicans because they cut deals with him a long time ago saying why are you cutting a deal with these guys? you can't even count on their vote for you. he did a deal and not one of them, not one of them voted for him. i feel bad for him in this regard but they should have been done before all of this. >> judge jeanine: does he have to put them on a committee?

don't like details, the suspect making the first court appearance to face four first-degree murder charges. prosecutors releasing a study 19 page affidavit which lays out the case. the dna was found on the knife sheet left to the suspects body then meant that matching now.it documents reveae surviving roommates woke up to the sound of crying on the night of their burgers and frozen fear after witnessing a masked man wearing all black wrought mike walked past her toward a sliding glass door she then went back into her room and locked the door. 19 pages and i know you had it earlier today looking through the whole thing and what stood out to you? 's before the first thing that stood out to me is that i applaud the police work in this case. i think for the longest time

people assumed we were dealing with small town usa, hadn't had a homicide since 2015 and they were the keystone cops. what's clear from the affidavit is that on november 13th they actually had the state police go with them onto the scene, the forensic collectors. they had all the ducks in the row and the fbi assigned the case almost immediately. that something that gives me a great deal of confidence. number once the fact we had an eyewitness who saw the murderer, heard the crying, and the murderer and the question is why didn't he kill and what do we refer? she described him as being tall, having bushy eyebrows and of course tall, athletic build and bushy eyebrows. a 5'10" or taller, he is 6-foot tall. the most interesting part is the car and everyone talks about the cell phone, 12 times before the actual murder where the cell phone was in the vicinity,

but that's a tower recognizing it. we do not know how wide the space is that the tower reflects the pinging of the cell phone. his taking off from the crime scene was caught on the camera and then what you see is law enforcement at its best. we think it's this and what year is it? they send it to the fbi and they go through with it. but one that impresses me on page 6 and i'm not going to take a lot of time. he says that given the direction that the elantra was going the morning of the murders, he assumed it might have been going into the state of washington. that's a hunch and a cops hunch and sure enough once they started working with law enforcement they realize that they had pictures of elantra's. as it goes on, his fingerprints or some f forensic, it's on the button of the sheet to the knife and they match it to the garbage

affidavit too, he applied for an internship with the police department. he studies criminology and crowdsourcing things on reddit. the warrant for the phone shows him all around the crime scene that night and he turns it off during the murderer and turns it back on. they go back earlier in the fall and he was stocking the victim and casing the apartment since august. the cops had pulled him over twice in the fall, in the white elantra, this guy might think he's smart but he's an idiot. >> dana: harold, last comment? >> harold: i agree, people who criticize local law enforcement should applaud this and those who have been critical of the fbi should applaud this. the motive, this is one of the more unbelievable things as i look at this young guy. he looks like someone you see on an airplane restaurant, any

in fact. all right, why is this happening in virginia again? is at the air in virginia? >> dana: the thing is it could be happening in more places than just virginia and the only reason it came to light is because family, their son had applied for one of these accommodations from the national merit scholarships and they had not heard back. the father is in his son's room and sees an envelope like when did you get this? last week, before thanksgiving. all of the college applications had actually been done well before that in the letter that came was dated in september. the parents are like what happened? they called the school in the school explained we didn't want other people to feel bad. the school is saying that's not what happened and it's a unique case. glenn youngkin and governor desantis who were able to take on the issues in

their states as governors are doing a great thing. the fact that the attorney general of virginia is going to look into this as a criminal act because was this family harmed? was the child denied an opportunity to get early decision at a different school? where they possibly denied financial aid because he achieved this meritocracy. so republicans that are actually doing things in their state while you've got people in washington who might want to run for president one day who are admired and nonsense. >> judge jeanine: jesse, what about this? >> jesse: everybody in high school knows who's smart and no one's feelings are going to get hurt if grady mcmenamin gets an award. you knew he was crushing it all year because they participate, they get all as and look around. you knows who's getting what grades. if you know it hurts your

feeling of high school? when you get cut from the basketball team. when you don't have a prom date. when your car is a lemon and everybody else has lexuses. i'm not saying any of those things happen to me but what i'm saying is those are the things that hurt people's feelings, not this. >> judge jeanine: you would be upset -- if it happened to your kids. >> harold: one thing you know for certain, this kid was not going to be hurt by the schools he was applying or she was applying to if they are national merit scholar. whatever the reasoning is from the school is nonsense. i'm glad they are looking into this and other ag's across look into this. my kids are 7 and 9, every academic achievement that they make in life i'm going to put in an application. i feel bad for the student. i would consider holding those accountable at the school before the criminal matter, you've got to let the state school commissioner to be looking at
