understand why he's wasting taxpayer money and bringing his air force one down here if he will not see the reality of it. >> it has impacted a lot of businesses downtown because a lot of customers for these businesses are no longer visiting the stores. a lot of people are being assaulted. >> they were coming by the thousands. and it was really bad. i love el paso. >> he doesn't have to create new laws, just enforce them. that is all that needs to be done. >> ashley: i want to bring in former reporter pat chief and id director. i want to go back to these pictures, side-by-side that we've seen all weekend long where it shows messed up area in el paso on wednesday and then thursday, you see completely cleaned up. you hear the president saying why is he wasting taxpayer dollars coming down here? it is not showing actually what is happening. they said this had nothing to do with the president's visit to

help to el paso, but clearly that is showing a different picture. my question to you, why el paso? is it because of the democrat mayor thinking he had a little bit of support behind him? >> i don't know, having this town clean itself up and look presentable for the president, having him go down there without outlining any fixes or resources for the policies, the choices he made, no admission of what he did or this administration has done to blow up the border and no apology to the residents and the citizens who have the burden out of uncontrolled migration across the border, he could have gone to el paso or yuma but if he doesn't change the course where we are going on the policy side, this thing isn't going to end. he started in office encouraging everyone to the border to do so now because he would be soft on it and they stopped building the wall and ended remain a mexico

program with a salable and fixing the border. they fixed it in a way we have the largest search on the southwest border in our lifetimes in the history of that border. >> todd: we just heard from the residents of el paso but what is the reaction to the visit by president biden with the colleagues of border patrol? the ranking files specifically? >> the agents know this is a self-inflicted problem. when this administration took over they had 40 year lows on the southwest border? why? they had a policy queue come to the united states and claim asylum if you could wait in mexico for the hearing. that dissuaded many people from leaving home and coming to the border. you get to the office and rips down that policy now the flood is on. the last residence in el paso -- remain in mexico is u.s. code peer that has nothing to do with the prior administration but a law passed by congress.

all they have to do is reinstate that policy and make it agree with mexico, across the southwest border in this problem gets smaller overnight and it will continue. that is what happened in the last administration. when this president was vice president they had of the tension and certainty that if you came into the united states, you would wait in custody until your hearing and if you got relief you would welcome the united states and if not you were sent back. if you do that again we can end this problem. they refused to do it and refuses to outline what he's going to do. he is blaming everybody else. and refused to follow the crisis. this will continue until we have a different president. >> ashley: el paso encounters are up 222% from this time last year but the letter governor abbott handed to the president and it, he said his visit avoided the worst of it, which i think a lot of people

could agree even though el paso on a normal day is bad. but do you think by president biden thing what he saw down there is they need resources and they will give it to him, do you think it will be upwards of $20 billion that governor abbott was talking about? >> operation loan start in the state of texas more of what the outside government has invested in this problem. they know the problem very well. i'm grateful that they stand side by side with border patrol using the texas guard and public safety. so resource outlet for texas, said he liked el paso and denver, we already have a request for the city of new york where you are for $1 billion for this problem. this is a burden on all of us. let's not forget the dangers all under the threat that we are facing with this large uncontrolled migration across the southwest border and the fennel and the other drugs. people are being human traffic and people in the pipeline or at risk and the border is suffering

likes texas and arizona who have tried to do something but supported by the federal government because the policy is wrong. he will go to mexico today. he will talk about migration. will he insist on protection beings instated? we cut why didn't we get rep a deal with them? we are helping their economy. why aren't they helping us with this migration problem? >> todd: what will happen meeting with the mexican president and will they talk about immigration and come to solutions or will the whole thing be about climate change? president biden can go to his leftist base and say, look i tried to do something about the claimant. thank you, sir, we appreciate it. colorado will stop sending migrants to new york city and chicago after the mayor eric adams and lori lightfoot as the state to cease and desist to my thesis.

commitment of his committee. ashley, todd. >> ashley: mark levin warning republicans what will happen if they don't unify against democrats. listen to those. >> people are cheering for one side or another, one ideology or another commit is a lot more complicated than that, folks. i just want to warn the republicans have the house if you are majority that deteriorates into personal attacks into getting nowhere and to getting into the weeds about this rule or that rule or another rule, 10,000 illegal aliens are crossing the border while fennel is killing 10,000 of the young people every month and while the fbi is trying to chase down people who believe in life and opposed to abortion and threatening parents and while the department of justice is trying to indict a former president of the united states and while they are destroying their economic system and destroying our constitutional system, you can all declare

>> ashley: they are moderates that you never know what is going to happen with them on that front. but what deals mccarthy made to get the speaker position and it's not exactly that i don't agree with what happened last week but it becomes a consistent problem amongst the republican party. they wouldn't have a problem. what is so interesting, the rules committee singly handedly allowing on the floor and the committee, if it goes to the floor, what time it will go to the floor and they have that control and i heard matt gaetz talking friday night saying it would prevent things like this omnibus bill, $1.7 trillion omnibus bill get into the floor. in situations like that, it is reasonable. the defense i don't agree with cutting defense, but there are so many pieces of pork that could have been cut to avoid situations like this. it will be interesting to see what happens today. >> todd: that is a great

to five hours passed before they realized they had been huddled in the same spot. and so this is not uncommon. >> i think we have to realize we don't know what we would do in that situation because most of us have not been in that situation. in the meantime, actually attended a vigil for the victims. would you be surprised by that? >> no, that is actually pretty common for killers to somewhat show back up at the crime scene or at a vigil. as we saw he returned back to the crime scene even later today after he allegedly did this, i don't think it would be a far-fetched thing for him to show up to this vigil. but i will tell you this, i will know how much that will play and with these internet -- i didn't have a problem with it at first but now the problem is they are

in a different way as to say if you don't speak up, nothing is going to change? >> you know, there is a lot of concern that our school board has very different priorities then parents do. there is a lot of transparency trust. right now please see the school is talking about it, acknowledging it is suspended in the news but there are so many questions and this is the first time we have seen the high school and our school board is pushing something that seems like a political agenda at the expense of our kids. so, i think it is important for people to start talking and asking questions and really demanding a response from the school board. this just can't be a little mistake, which is what they are trying to push it off as. >> knowing all of this and knowing what carey said, what are the priorities of the school board? it doesn't seem like the children's and the student's

best interest is at hand. >> this is such a tragedy not just on a national scale in terms of merit but in their personal lives of kids. they are waiting right now for answers from kids and this emphasis critical data point, amazing honor being the top 3% of parents nationwide. it's just as she said, it is different. the school board just has approved and the superintendent has approved a contract, $455,000 with the contractor and pushing an agenda of equal outcomes for every student, even if that means, get this, unequal opportunities. this is just so un-american. i think ultimately we will find out what is going on is not only an ethical and immoral but illegal. >> ashley: and she actually

released an email to parents, i am delighted to let you know that your student was designated a student by the national merit scholarship corporation but i must apologize certificates not given to the students this past fall. i'm deeply sorry for this mistake. they say they are sorry but you and azra were talking about the timing and is sorry enough? >> no. i heard one family with a daughter who just got a deferral from her college of choice in a letter that she would have this recognition and not able to put her contact vocation. that is devastating. imagine this on this child that work so hard and is disappointed as their future lies in the balance. it is very kind of shocking when you think about these colleges or these high school supposed to be working and partners with the kids to help them in the future. but again as asra points out there has been this in spirit we

have heard it consistently. we know up to high schools in the same school district nakedly focused on things that are not about kids interest but about this idea of equal outcomes for everyone. what does that mean for merit scholars? it means that the school doesn't want them in superintendent the public school board wants them all to be equal. that means they don't want the top 3%. >> ashley: these kids work so hard only to be ignored. you have been shedding light on the situation and doing a great job with it, but do you think enough people will speak out and get some momentum to change this? or is this what parents and students can expect from here on out? >> oh, no, we are fighting back. you have heard that we call ourselves mama bear is pure is a cheerleader. number one high school that my son attended thomas jefferson for science and technology has

been meeting with the superintendent last week and she called us "bought." we wear a jacket cold mama bought. no matter what they throw at us we will stand up and speak up. this is a perfect example. she is a mom. i am a mom at tj and i want to show people. this is as simple as it takes to get to parents and this is my son's packet, his student record. every student has this in america. there are laws that require all academic records, but two years later, i discovered that my son was a commended student because the student got information from us. so no parent should stand up, you know, no parent should be afraid to stand up. we are doing it for that they call us mama bots, we are here to stay. >> ashley: it doesn't matter

needed to move. they needed to go into the shelter. but they needed to get off of the street. and they were doing that not only around the bus station but secret heart church. which had not had this issue. many of them cannot go into the shelters because these are referred to as getaways, people who don't have papers to go into a shelter because they never presented themselves to immigration or anything. these are the people who come across the river. i would also like to point out on the mexican side the president doing his photo all. yesterday, rather saturday, yesterday morning on the mexican side of the mexican immigration cleared out the mexican side of the wall on the other side of the river so they wouldn't have the migrants on the mexican side as they tried to come across the

river and breaks in the wall there on both sides and try to clear everything up here it's been one unbelievable but not unsurprising. did joe biden experience fullscope and skill of the border crisis during his visit? >> no, he didn't, though i actually went to check the day before and the area with greyhound buses was cleaned up, but the sacred heart church still had migrants there camping and waiting for him and actually told by one of them that would wait to see if he would pass by so they could talk to him. but not everything was cleaned up. some of them were still there. >> rosie, is anything going to change as the president was there a whopping three hours and quite frankly by a wall
