official told cnn this saying there just weren't any at the center when biden arrived. completely coincidental. they haven't had any today. now, this after texas governor greg abbott did meet the president in el paso on the tarmac handing him a letter which said, among other things this: even the visit has been sanitized of the migrant camps which had overrun downtown el paso because your administration wants to shield you from the chaos that texans experience on a daily basis and, guys, in that letter, abbott laid out a list of demands. among them, asking the administration to comply with the statute mandating illegal immigrants be detained ending the practice of unlawfully paroling land inpass and says digating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. we spoke here to a del rio rancher laura allen about the president's visit. here is what she had to say. take a listen.

>> you don't come after all the mess has already been dealt with and cleaned up. you come when the emergency is happening. he is supposed to be our chief of this country. when we have emergencies, we expected our elected officials show up. >> griff: so, it's unbelievable that the president wasn't able to see or speak to a single migrant, like we said just now getting word that there were 58 migrant encounters in el paso. here there were nearly a thousand. in fact, steve, here about 25 minutes ago, a group of 10 single adults crossed the river and walked right up to the national guard vehicle behind me within 10 minutes they were put into border patrol vans and taken off to be processed clearly the focus right now of this administration is processing and transporting those migrants, not stopping them from crossing. steve, ainsley, brian. >> brian: that's where most of the pony that they want from congress to help with that they don't want to put it into border

security. they want to add more agents. how hard is it to get border agents these days? >> >> griff: well, listen, you can create lots of jobs and hire more border patrol agents. the question is what job will they do? and this is the two-year long frustration among the sector chiefs that they don't have them, quote: on the line. holding the line. you have got them transporting. you have got them doing processing and that's really not solving any purpose. in that omnibus bill on page 753, nearly 2 billion allocating non-key tension border management requirements. >> that's the actual language. what does that mean? means there is going to be more processing and transporting and not trying to stop migrants have crossing which, by the way, in the past 100 days, since octobel year began, there have been in that el paso sector over 78,000 known got-aways, meaning our border patrol agents saw them, couldn't bring them into custody. we don't know who they are, warm

generally, you won't tell us what is in it but generally what's it about. >> first off, the rules for tony and nancy, tony has said he's not willing to vote for them yet. nancy, on the other hand, has said she is on the fence. part of the thing that needs to be understood is the separate items that you're talking about which i would argue has been mischaracterized not unusual for a local media outlet here on the hill. the rules themselves, i do believe both tony and nancy will come around tonight when they realize the things that they want to talk about are in this separate agreement. and, specifically, my understanding is tony wants to talk about a provision that says we are going to start with the fy-22 budget as the baseline. and this is a concern because

you have in the spending approach, you have the got the discretionary spending that involves both this out-of-control domestic spending since before the pandemic under nancy pelosi and you have got defense spending. the argument is this would effect defense spending. which i will tell you republicans will not impact defense spending aside from the deficiency and waste. are. >> ainsley: republicans are worried how the moderates will vote for rules. members would get 27 hours to read the bills before they vote. you talked about the term you talked about only takes one person to vote the speaker out or to start that vote at least. and then the term limits. nancy mace was on one of the sunday shows and she said she is worried about backroom deals. she is not sure what kind of deals with made in exchange for a vote for mccarthy. byron donalds was on television and he revealed or sounds like he is revealing that he got the

house steering when i in exchange for his vote for mccarthy listen to this. >> going to be a part of the republican steering w committees kevin mccarthy's designant. part of that to ensure that the entire conference, the ideological spectrum if you will is represented through all committees. i think this is important. because what i have seen in my first two years from washington and this is actually not kevin's fault. this is the nature and the culture of washington, d.c. is that the members are actually really separated from each other. they don't really get a chance to talk and engage a lot unless they take specific interest to do. i think having more voices on more committees actually going to help the republican conference and congress overall so we can clear up a lot of the misconceptions about policy ideas and political points so we can actually do the right thing by the american people through a truly deliberative process that is open and there is a lot of conversations going on. i think it's a great thing. >> ainsley: congressman, your reaction?

>> first off, we got to be careful not to conflate the rules in this discussion that took place with these points that i'm going to argue to you, ainsley, all of our members are going to support. there is no back room deals. first, on the rules. you are opening up the capitol for the first time since the pandemic to the public. you're eliminating proxy voting and making people come to work. they haven't been doing it for years. you're reinstating the holman rule which is going to allow members to literally do targeted spending cuts within these huge bills and you are eliminating the opportunity for these $1.7 trillion christmas tree laden ornament bills. on the other side, the agreement that you will know more about our members have been learning about it real time as we go through. not all of them chose to be part of this. but they will now. you're going to have single subject matter.

you're going to have germaneness. what does that mean, ainsley? well, in the past, the house might pass the ceremonial coin bill for a famous american who did something important, send it over to the senate. it sits there without action. and then, guess what in they strip out that language. they put in a $1.7 trillion spending bill and they send it back as the coin bill. that will not happen anymore we're going to hold the senate accountability, the house accountability do what people expect. >> brian: yesterday nancy mace called matt gaetz a fraud. send sent out a fundraising letter. you have open wounds that need bactine. >> it's all good, brian. human beings have got to learn to get along. >> brian: they do. don't grab them by the neck. >> steve: do you have any idea what kevin mccarthy said to matt gaetz in that very

you. >> good morning, everybody. >> good morning. so, brian, we have seen this in the past with crimes where the killer goes back to vigils and appears back at the house of where the crimes might have been committed when you look at the video of the vigil and see online someone who resembles looks like him so far away you can't tell, do you think he was at the vigil? >> well, it's certainly possible and look, without getting into deep into the psychology behind it, it's almost like a spike the football moment for these types of sick people. you see it in arson a lot where the suspect stays at the scene and, you know, it looks and enjoys what he has caused in these types of situations. but, here's the good news. the detectives will be able to track all his movements and everything, not just the day of the crime of the alleged killer but also after that. and, look it, he shut his phone off when the alleged killer shut his phone off when the killings occurred. i believe that's going to be used against him and look at the

facts, did he shut his phone off prior to? how often did he shut his phone off. ever shut off 4:00 in the morning? a lot they are going to be able to prove by shutting his phone off. i believe it's going to be used against him and a key piece of evidence. >> ainsley: chilling when you read about this on social media. some saying they think he was on social media wei weighing in ont happened. they say he knew things that actually turned out to be true if it was this guy kohberger on social media, on facebook. they speculate he went under the name of pappa rogers and on reddit under the name inside looking. he is saying things about how this person entered the house and how he left the sleeve of the knife there at the scene of the crime and how he was driving away there were skid marks on the car and this became true. when you look at the picture this person was using, it was someone dressed in all black with a flashlight on his head. and that could be, you know,

what this suspect or what this suspect wore when he was murdering those four individuals. what do you make of all of this? >> so, again, that's all stuff that they're going to look at and they will be able to flush that out. it doesn't matter. the sheath -- the knife sheath was left behind with the d.n.a. that's going on the key piece of evidence. and i want to say this. you heard a lot about where the knife sheath was found. it's my belief that that knife sheath was dropped in the struggle. you heard defense wounds on one of the victims, at least one of the victims. you heard the witness hear something upstairs like someone was playing with a dog. that sounds like a struggle. my guess is one of those victims is a hero. got in a struggle with him and the knife sheath was dropped during that point. that's my thought process. and it's so difficult to determine exactly how it happened. we may never know. moo my belief that struggle, that defense wounds, that's when the knife sheath would have gotten dropped. >> ainsley: maybe one of those pulled it off of his belt

buckle. >> they are a hero. >> ainsley: talk about husband in massachusetts. the missing mother last seen on new year's day three boys and husband earrested for misleading investigators. do we know how he misled them. >> most likely gave them a statement that was not true. presenting a false statement. and let me go back a little bit. they had called it a missing person's investigation. they would not call it a crime and certainly not call it a homicide as no one has been found yet. but i promise you, every great homicide detective up there in massachusetts is watching this case. they are running the plays right out of the homicide 101 playbook. even though they are calling them missing persons. now starting to see a shift into criminal. when he misled investigators allegedly and now they have crime, now they can get into his house and start searching and you saw yesterday the d.n.a., the suit the crime scene people were wearing very impressive. they are going to run this right out of the homicide playbook as they have been from the beginning i promise you that.

eric wood joins us now. could you describe your thoughts when that kickoff was returned the distance? >> it was unbelievable. the pregame ceremony, all the emotion in the stadium which turned into a celebration it looked all week like it could be a tragedy. but it turned into a celebration. celebrating trainers, celebrating demarre's health at the moment and into hermine heinz who has never returned a opening kickoff takes it to the house. josh allen described it perfectly it was spiritual a different type of moment than i have ever felt in a stadium similar to i never experienced like the week before in cincinnati when demarre was down on the field in the manner that he was. it was incredible celebration moment of just a week of seemingly this country coming together. >> brian: red zone has a way of showing highlights of teams scoring. this time it was showing highlights of damar and how people are recognizing him and
