>> pete: wild card weekend in the nfl. living up to its name, what it says in the prompter. the cincinnati bengals defender, this was cool, making history with his 98-yard touchdown following the fumble by the baltimore ravens. it's not over yet. tonight the dallas cowboys take on tom brady and the tampa bay bucs. author of "talking to goats," fox news contributor jim gray joins us. thanks for being here. two parts to the question here. first of all, the game tonight, tom brady back in the spotlight. you know him well. you interview him often. there is that and then they came off the field. they are already talking about what he might do next year. chime in on both, if you will. >> it is a big game tonight. he has 7-0, got his team into the playoffs, they have not played well.

as far as next season, he's not thinking about that right now. he is trying to think about the next quarter, the next play. there is a lot to go in his season, he hopes. hopefully they can turn the corner in the plans, but it's also premature as to what will be next season. there will be 3,000 rumors between now and then. >> there will be. you are hearing raiders. you are hearing saints. the night tonight is going to be phenomenal. does that mean that there is tom brady next year in your mind? >> he does not know, so anybody who says they know is making stuff up. he does not know. he really has not made that decision, because that bridge yet. he threw the most passes in the nfl, so should he decide not to play, his goal was to play to 45. he has reached that goal.
5:54 am
should he play? it will be because he wants to. he has proven that once again. >> pete: if anyone would no, it's jim gray, so we appreciate the perspective. that's my point. we don't know. the bills had a big win last night. also had a big win with damar hamlin. talk to us about the significance, the gripping nature of his recovery and that team's continued success. >> pete, it's just phenomenal. what happened just two weeks ago on monday night, we all stood there just stunned, praying for this young man to make it. after having to be resuscitated on the field, in the hospital with cpr, just tremendous what they did for the buffalo bills and those people in the hospital in cincinnati. he's now back home. he visited with his team, it was a huge left for them. decided not to go to the game.

still rehabilitating, but it's just unbelievable. everybody's prayers were answered. the medical community has just done a fantastic job. i imagine for the rematch now of the game that was called no contest against cincinnati, they will travel to buffalo, and if all things go well, i would imagine that damar hamlin will be in the stadium. >> pete: i get chills just thinking about it. we all continue to pull for him. my team, jim, the vikings did not have a special season. you're an expert. why do you throw a 3-yard out when you need 8 yards? why? >> ask kirk cousins. kevin o'connell has got to be beside himself. he does not even expect the ball. you've got the best receiver if you just try to force it in
5:56 am
there. i'm sure cousins probably thought he was being pressured. but you don't get it out of there, it is like watching derek carr all over again when he threw it short, not to be the bengals, and you go what do you guys practice all season for? that is why vikings fans are feeling this morning. >> pete: this morning and almost every morning. i appreciate your time. all right, more "fox & friends" just moments away. every day can be extraordinary with rich, creamy, delicious fage total yogurt.
