>> steve: later today, the vice president is going to head out to arizona. but she will not be visiting the border or talking immigration. the so-called border czar will help push the energy agenda of the administration while ignoring the nearly 100,000 migrant encounters in that state this year alone. county sheriff mark lamb joins us right now. sheriff, good morning to you. >> good morning, steve. thanks for having me on. >> steve: it's great to have you. why would she go? joe biden went to the border a couple of weeks ago and he didn't see one migrant. they completely cleared out the place. >> yeah, is this not par for the course, steve? this is what they continue to do. really, what it is, they want to do anything but look at the truth. they want to hide the truth from the american people. you know, peter talked about it earlier. truth is what really matters, and this is another effort to continue to hide the truth.

we've become desensitized to it, though, the lies, the corruption. you know, i partnered with brave books recently to write a children's book so we can start teaching children to be critical thinkers again, how to look for the truth. you can get it at bravebooks.com. you can get my book and kirk cameron's book. we have to push these people to give us the truth. this is the effort by kamala harris to continue to hide the truth. >> steve: here's the thing. you and this administration have two different business models because you're right there in arizona, your business model is on the border, keep it secure. keep people from coming in. joe biden's business model is to let as many people in to process them for a variety of reasons as he possibly can. and he's doing a really good job at it. >> he is doing a really good job at it. creating a ton of issues for us whether it's fentanyl killing american citizens every day, poisoning them. whether it's humans being trafficked into the sex trade or the drug trade here in america.
5:45 am
that is what we deal with on a daily basis. and this is caused by joe biden's policies and kamala harris' lack of czarring down at the border whether in texas or arizona. >> steve: i like that. the lack of czarring. she's supposed to look into the root causes. sheriff, before i leave you today, you say that this administration and in particular this president owes an apology to the men and women who are border patrol because of how he has handled them trying to execute their jobs. >> yeah, he's turned his back on them. we saw with the issue where they claimed they're whipping them, they never did issue an apology. he has no idea just how deep that betrayal goes when you do that. and a simple apology would have been what was best when he came to the border, apologize to the men and women of border patrol, the officers and ice agents because they're out there putting their lives on the line trying to do their job for the

have been moving toward the democratic party for several years. but the 2022 midterms may have been their electoral coming out party. let's bring in our panel. fox news contributor cat tim and poster at mazlansky & partners, president lee carter. hey, ladies. why do you think this is? most of the single women, they're not married. they might be in a relationship but they're not marriedment . they voted for the democrat. you're a pollster, why do you think there is? >> number one, there's more of them than there's been before. i don't think this is a trend. we've seen single women always vote democrat more than 60% of the time. that's part of it. and i think it comes down to the abortion debate. >> ainsley: it's different from the 1950's where women, i guess, got married right out of college if not earlier and went along with their husbands. women are free thinkers now and you realize you don't necessarily have to be married or you can have children later

in life. why do you think that more people side with the democratic party? >> first of all, yeah, i recently married. i think the last time i was on "fox & friends" i was single. yeah, i mean, i also don't vote republican or democrat. but i think that although there are plenty of people who are conservative that are more open minded on social issues, there also are conservatives who are not as open minded on social issues even things like, oh, maybe a woman and i don't want to get married and i don't want to have kids. and there's also the issue of maybe women who want to have a relationship or want to get married but they can't find it. there was a stat here that said that, you know, 60 something percent of men are looking for dating or relationships and only 30% of women. dating and relationships are not the same thing. and if you don't understand that, you're going to be crying a lot very soon. so a lot goes into it. and i think it helps any political party to want to provide the biggest tent possible and say that's ok. and this and that. again, i think it is hard for a

lot of these women to get past the abortion issue. i definitely agree that is a huge reason. >> ainsley: what do you think? >> this doesn't surprise me either because there's this old saying, if you're not liberal when you're young, you have no heart. if you're not conservative when you're older, you have no brain. so i think there's a lot of factors here as well. and it also comes down to where you live. a lot of single women live in cities that tend to be more progressive. and also, higher education. more than half of people who are getting doctorates and master's degrees now are women and we know how progressive schools are. on the other hand, when you do become a mom, your priorities totally change. and the things that you really focus on change as well. safety, we all saw the moms and the dads leading the movement no matter what their prior political opinions were against like the progressive school board members because they didn't like what they were seeing there either. that was a big reason why a lot of people voted. >> ainsley: you're right. saw that in virginia. lee, when you do your polling,

what do you think the -- what do the democrats say their reason for it is and what do republicans need to do in order to get some of these women to vote for their candidate? >> well, i think the democrats' message has been this is an issue about women's equality. this is about making sure that women have equal rights and equal decision making. and that's really resonating with a lot of women. and i think that we're talking about this a little bit. there's a lot of conservative women, especially younger women who think abortion at least in the earlier terms should be allowed. and so i think that the democrats -- >> ainsley: you think there are more people that believe and won't admit it? >> if you look at the polling between 18 and 34 years old, you'll see people moving more to the middle on that issue. >> ainsley: yeah. what do you think the republican party can do to appeal to more women? >> like i was saying earlier, i think it's definitely abortion but also social issues in general. i think it's actually a good message to tell women that, you know, you don't need a man because if i would have believed that, i would have ended up with the wrong man just for the sake

of having a man instead of getting married when i was already in my 30's. but i think that just being more accepting of different people and, you know, something like hey, don't you want to pay lower taxes? can be something that all women can sort of get behind. >> ainsley: right. do you think more women are learning their power and their worth? >> i hope that that's not new but maybe. i also don't think it's exclusively the abortion issue. also, some of the trump backed candidates weren't popular with women. this may be something exclusive to this midterm election cycle. >> ainsley: congratulations on the show and your marriage. >> my marriage! thank you. >> ainsley: more coming up.
