sheriff's homicide. rachel: the shooting reported to authorities just before 10:30 p.m. local time. those were injured are in conditions ranging from stable all the way to critical. pete: police say they're search fog are a male suspect. a motive for the shooting isn't clear at this time. local officials are working with federal authorities as an investigation into the case remains underway. as we get more information we will bring it to you. they don't know what kind of firearm was used at this point. motive, relationship to victims, we don't know. will: in that press briefing there were questions for local law enforcement apparently a separate incident in los angeles. questions whether or not they are connected. there was a question about civilians possibly apprehending or taking down an individual. was that connected? law enforcement gave a very, very brief press briefing a moment ago with not a lot of new details but said, in coming hours they will tell us more. hopefully, perhaps, about
