dead and one person critically injured following the shooting. the authorities arrested 67 year old in connection with the shooting. take a look at the moment the officers took him down in the parking lot at the half moon bay sheriff's office. he turned himself in after allegedly opening fire into different locations. the police say he traveled to mushroom farm where he opened fire killing four people and then went to a second location d killed three others here are the authorities say the victims were likely his coworkers. the board of supervisors said he was a disgruntled employee according to the locations he shot up. >> we would like to start by offering my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. >> this kind of shooting is horrific. it is a tragedy that we hear about far too often.

today, it has hit home. speak of the shooting happened just two days after 11 people were killed at monterey park an eight hour drive between the two locations and we learn about the 26-year-old hero to step in to take down this armed suspect, huu can tran after he traveled to a second location. he is recounting the terrifying moment he was standing in a lobby of a dance studio and saw the gunmen enter the building. >> that is when i turned around and saw there was an asian man holding a gun and i realized i needed to get the weapon away from him and take this weapon, disarm him or us, everybody would have died. i got the courage and lunged at him. i grabbed the weapon and we had a struggle. we struggled into the lobby, trying to get this gone away from each other. he was hitting me across the

face, smashing the back of my head. i was trying to separate the gun away from him to create distance. finally, at one point, i was able to pull the gun away from him. >> the suspect eventually took off running out the door and left in his van. four more victims from saturday shooting have not been identified and reflected the loss of her aunt and i will remember her as a bright light. >> amy is a kindhearted person, really kind, genuine, friendly. she is really cheerful and she has her family's biggest cheerleader, mediator, and she has everything that our family needed. >> authorities say another monterey park victim died in the hospital as a result of injuries. the number of people killed now 11. >> the 26-year-old is amazing. i was reading the family owns the dance hall where the shooting would have taken place

from texas and held overnight before being released on bail just one day after the arrest. this comes as chase begins closing some of the 24-hour atms in new york citing "the rise in crime and vacancy. they took similar actions in the summer when the growing number of homeless new yorkers began sleeping and using the bathroom and atm lobbies. mayor eric adam says his city needs to be safer, but to offer a solution to combat the crisis. >> people don't want to walk into the atm and see someone. see someone screaming and yelling. i don't want my atms closing down. i don't want people leaving our city. we have to create an environment that people are safe and they feel safe. >> i've seen some of these atms appear they are filthy. chase has a small portion of the atm lobbies will close after regular business hours.

carley and todd. >> carley: jackie, thank you so much. don't direct your anger at chase but to the city where the crime is running rapid. and check you just reported four migrants who enter the country illegally. that is one strike against them. then they come to new york, steal $12,000 worth of merchandise, and are released from prison for the next day. what are we doing? what crime do you have to commit now to be held in jail? >> todd: the big reporter issue, this was bound to happen, likely being reported for every mother truck crossing the border to get a better life, they were criminals. that is the reality of the situation. >> carley: possibly terror suspects, too. >> todd: good point. they were pulled over driving a bmw. the amount of stuff that was stolen, $12,000 of goods because they were not stealing but stealing these goods to sew on the black market which funnels money to terrorist and the like.

as for the atms, you and i commute in the early hours and we see as we drive in atms being used as homeless shelters and mayor eric adams was discussing but again the anger should be directed not at chase but at the city. we need to put a stop to this. where are the cops in front of atms? they should be on every street corner in the middle of the night but they are not. >> carley: adam klotz, the meteorologist who you know and love, he was watching a football game with friends and he took the subway at around one-third in the morning. we were talking about this yesterday. he was attacked by a group of teenagers on the subway. look at his eyes. his ribs are bruised. he says his knee is the size of a baseball. he is worried about his knee as well. he details a lot of what happened to him on tucker carlson and this is what he had to say. >> i would say like seven teens, one started to light up a joint

and then i just covered my hand because once you are unconscious who knows what will happen. >> carley: there is good news this morning, i guess. the police are looking for the teenagers who did this. and we release this photo of the suspect wanted in connection of the attack against adam. there were three that were arrested that night on the spot. two are 15, one was a 17-year-old. all released to their parents within hours. >> todd: for picture use on the screen was the fourth suspect they were seeking. but to your point, okay, what is going to happen? they will arrest them and put them in jail 13 seconds and release them? >> carley: it is interesting they are releasing the photos if they are just going to release the suspects. adam said it was his understanding he has to file a complaint with the city for any sort of ramification with the police. >> todd: think about that, that should not be a burden on him the victim has to process. it should be automatic not just in new york city but the

country. if you commit a crime, all of the 80s will prosecute you for that crime, not the victim. adam is going to make his decision. i don't think this will have a chilling effect on adam one way or another. what if you are not adam? what if a 22-year-old, like my daughter if this happens to her. this is going to be a chilling effect for her. she will not want to press charges for the fear that these people come back after her. >> carley: i thought about that too. and you think about this a different way. >> todd: for attitude adam and i talked about this with my wife, there was no way the attitude that adam had such a good-natured guy. he will not let that stop him but he did the right thing and paid the price for it. >> carley: yesterday on "the new york post," there was a picture of adam at the bottom of the page, george soros on top aweturn to him the visionary, ad his vision is becoming a reality.

is public so it is easy to trace. george soros has been involved in politics for decades. the silver lining is he spent tens of millions in elections he has mostly lost. but over the last decade more than 90% success rate in getting the d.a.s elected. i hate to use brilliance for soros but one of the brilliant things he realized is you want to get policy reform done with law and order and this case degrading it, going through ada, you don't have to go through state legislature or a mayor about back someone with millions of dollars that will do what you want. and that is what he's done across the nation and largely interchangeable with the crazy policies. they seem to see criminals as in any situation and they support the defund the police movement and a one-two punch in 2020 where we have not enforcing the law but also support cutting the

police. one sort of underreported fact, i think, in 2020 is that even before the defund the police movement resulted in a single police officer losing their job, the u.s. employed about 30% fewer cops per capita in the world average. so cutting the top of the world average and the consequences were impossible to ignore. it is seldom the case a policy can blow up in your face this quickly. in 2020, while there was an issue in crime increased, the announcing of soros jurisdiction near doubling. and there were some crimes, you know, the lack of enforcement changed how we would reported. so crime sky rocketed in the crime is reliable. and you can walk into cvs, still $100 and walk out. >> carley: real quickly before we let you go, i want to ask what do you think is motivating george soros to fund his money the way he does? do you think he is actually a believer in the liberal causes

a disparity between people who have money and don't have money or whether or not they can get treatment for their loved ones or addiction. >> todd: it seems the default from the cities and states are to feed addiction through these shoot up centers for lack of a better phrase. why isn't treatment the automatic default? >> it is really frustrating to me. i don't know why it's not the automatic default. it really needs to be. i feel like we are putting the cart before the horse. these -- we need recovery solutions. what we are doing is addiction maintenance instead of recovery. and my son is in a position where he is feeling really trapped in his addiction. he looks at me and he tells me he doesn't know how he's going to get out of this. and i try to find services to

help him. and unfortunately, even i am having difficulty finding those services. there is a limited number of beds and far more people that need them and the treatment centers. there was also not many detox beds. >> todd: i can imagine how heartbreaking that must be as a mother. and let's go back to the billboard for a moment here. basically, it says, "please help my son escape addiction the way you did hunter." appointing hunter biden did go to rehab and to get clean. obviously, we talk about hunter involving documents and marie's mama and all that stuff there is an underlying notion he did getn and presumably he is no longer addicted to cocaine, to all the other things he was addicted to. so the overall point for these

billboards, carley, shouldn't joe biden push for the same recovery for all americans and not just his son? you would think that would be, again, like jacqui said the default. so many cities in the country are sagging, "we don't want to get recovery as the default but we want to give them these avenues to shoot up easier and take drugs easier to become more addicted to the stuff that has gotten them in trouble. >> carley: jacqui, we are working on getting it back up but shocking to hear a mom say about her son and the bravery she is showing the desperation that she is showing as well. and just really propose what is going on in the streets across the country. we have identified the leading cause of death among young people and it is fentanyl. and silence from the biden administration. hunter aside, we think about what is going on at the southern border and this drug pouring in from mexico and from china.

but claims to my claims to cut off all contact when he learned of her wrongdoing. adam schiff's right to a degree, this has to do with marjorie taylor greene. the democrat started this trend of kicking people off of committees because in their case, they didn't like her. but in this case, there is actual legitimate reasons that somebody with these kinds of ties, eric swalwell's case to a chinese spy, on the contrary and axios reported on this, the fact this is a real thing and not some hack scheme to hurt democrats shows how off-base both of those two gentlemen are. >> carley: democrats are the legitimate reason to kick marjorie green taylor off in 2021. when that happened, the republican said if you do this there will be political payback. that is what is happening now. now, kevin mccarthy wants to kick, obviously adam schiff and eric swalwell off of the committees.

every committee has different rules and so when it comes to ilhan omar on the foreign affairs committee that will have to go to the floor for a vote. more to come on this front. >> todd: of the picture here it begs to question whether they want to be tough on china at all. i look at what happened with eric swalwell and i question exactly what kevin mccarthy said. this person would not get a security clearance in the private sector. so why should i facilitate him getting one in the public sphere, in the government's fear? it raises an interesting question. >> carley: when it comes to china, i think the best news is bipartisan vote to create the china committee to investigate what is going on in china and take train a lot more seriously. so good is there. but you are right eric swalwell, mccarthy doesn't want to have on the house until committee because of his relationship with alleged chinese spy. when it comes to adam schiff, he

and honestly, i don't think anybody took that seriously. there is certainly not a decline in crime happening in new orleans or 500 cars stolen since the first of the year averaging's twentysomething cars a day being stolen. and certainly we can't blame that on covid anymore. it is ridiculous to think that the covid pandemic is still has anything to do with crime in the city. >> carley: the light that stood out in the interview, "everybody needs to be held accountable." what about her? she is a leader in the city. >> absolutely right. where has she been and what has she done? she has been an investigation after investigation and certainly under federal investigation right now. she simply has been asked from the scene as the city unravels. there has been lack of accountability from her. we see the lack of district attorney holding people accountable for crimes. a recent statistic came out over

65% of violent crimes in the city result in either a misdemeanor or dismissal appearance of the most recent city council meeting, we actuale parents coming in begging city leaders to hold that her children accountable, children who are committing crimes. essentially stating, "listen, you keep slapping the juveniles on the wrist and they are out of control. you are accountable to what is happening in the city. where are you? we can't do this alone." >> carley: ice although statements from the parents, who is saying my daughter is committing crimes and i've gone to the police but she gets a slap on the wrist and there was nothing i can do about it. please help me save my daughter. stunning comment there from that woman. how is the recall campaign going? the mayor addressed it on "face the nation" and didn't seem too concerned. >> you know, the recall effort is still moving along. she seems to think because she was reelected that people are fine with the job she is doing.
