after he opened fire in two different locations. he traveled to a mushroom farm where he opened fire and went to a second location and shot and killed three others. the victims were likely chunli zhao's co-workers. he was a disgruntled employee at one of the locations he shot up. >> i would like to offer my heart-felt condolences to the families of the victims. this kind of shooting is horrific, a tragedy we hear far too often, but today it hit home in san francisco county. >> brooke: the shooting comes just days after 11 people were killed in monterey park. we are learning more about the 26-year-old hero who stepped in to take down this armed suspect.

pretty big winter storm system bringing five to eight inches of wide swath of snow and could see severe storms, large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornados from texas to the florida panhandle. watching that. watch the snow for tuesday and wednesday up toward the northeast on wednesday and thursday and then that will move offshore and we could see potential for lake effect snow thursday and friday. there is your snow forecast for the northeast. look at new york city, will we get snow in the forecast? we're kind of not sure. so less than an inch for new york, but looks like north and west, we'll see snowfall totals. latest first snow on record, if we don't get measurable snow, we'll get close to the record as we head toward the end of this week. we'll have to see. forecast today, cooler temperatures across the plain
