it's classified. that's it for tonight. dvr the show. that is dvr. you guys know how to do that? it's a button on the remote control. tucker carlson is next. remember, i'm waters, and this is my world. ♪ ♪ >> tucker: good evening. welcome to "tucker carlson tonight." looking back, this use bad a straightforward country. what you saw is what you got. it felt that way. that's not the case anymore. a lot what you read feels not like news but a highly curated reality made up to you.
5:01 pm
at the very least, it's of course there's a lot of court intrigue going on in american politics and a small percentage is public. one day you wake up and kamala harris is the vice president. how did that happen, you wonder? nobody will say. you can be sure there's a story there. here's the latest example of unexplained weirdness in the news. mike pence of all people has swooped in to save joe biden. yes, mike pence. a man so pure he won't have dinner with ladies not his wife. mike pence had secret documents in his house just like joe biden. bet you didn't see that coming. it wasn't so long ago that pence was on television who said he was sure he had no classified documents in his possession. then he sent his personal attorney to search his home in carmel, indiana for classified documents. if he didn't think he had classified documents, why would
5:02 pm
he send his lawyer to look for them? it's entirely possible and likely that mike pence was asked to to this by federal prosecutors who were trying to build a case against his old boss, donald trump. the point to show that not every federal official walks off the state secrets. donald trump was uniquely evil. mike pence didn't do it. so if that was the plan and we suspect it was, it backfired spectacularly because mike pence's lawyer promptly discovered classified documents. he immediately loaded them in to his car and drove them back to washington to hand them over to authorities. mike pence, meanwhile, not only notified the national archives about the new documents, he also called the fbi and then he called leaders of both parties in congress, which is odd. because what mike pence did was a felony. we've heard that again and again. keeping classified documents at home is a felony. pence didn't seem embarrassed about it. he almost bragged about it. so clearly mike pence is not worried about being punished for
5:03 pm
keeping secret documents in his home. that is strange in a country where all laws are supposed to apply equally to all people. mike pence is not worried act fbi raids. that's interesting. as someone as holy as mike pence had classified documents in his home, that means every person who has ever served in a high level of government also has classified documents at home. that means that keeping classified documents in your home is not a big deal except when donald trump does it. mike pence proves that. mike pence committed the same crime as joe biden, job must be innocent. that was the media's conclusion. >> it is possible for documents to be classified that we would all look at now and think, well, that's basically public information. that's not a big deal. so that's one of the things that if it -- it's a strong element
5:04 pm
in what you'd call the biden defense here. be. >> tucker: it's not a big deal. actually, we got to say it, that's mostly true. usually isn't a big deal. as we pointed out for years, the federal government has managed to classified more than a billion public documents. the vast majority of these documents, citizens, us, have every right to see. joe biden, for example, is still hiding secrets from the kennedy assassination because the cia doesn't want to answer questions their involvement in the murder of an american president. you should be mad about that. reporters in washington are not. they're telling you that julian assange are criminals, not whistle-blowers. so the press court just like the federal bureaucracy loves secrecy because that is the key to their power. on the other hand, you can never dismiss any case out of hand because the details are what matters. in the case of joe biden, what
5:05 pm
was in those classified documents that he took home? the entire story, the question whether it's a big deal or no big deal at all hangs on that question. what was in the documents? why can't you tell us? as of tonight, nobody has told us so we don't know. but thankfully miranda divine of the "new york post" may have brought us closer to the answer. she analyzed the documents we do have, the ones found on hunter biden's lab top. on that laptop, she found a remarkable e-mail, the e-mail that the justice department has never shown to the public despite the agents have had it for years. the document that miranda divine indicates that hunter biden had classified information in his possession. certainly that came from his father, the then vice president. he used that information to make piles of money for the biden family while working at a fake job in ukraine. that's what it shows. so if there's an actual scandal at the core of this classified documents story, here it is. so here's the details.
5:06 pm
on april 13, 2014, hunter biden sent an e-mail to his business partner, devin archer. he sent this a week before his father, the vice president, flew to ukraine to meet with the prime minister. in the e-mail, hunter biden compose add detailed memo with two dozen data points about the political and strategic situation on the ground in ukraine. what is so immediately striking and miranda divine pointed this out, this e-mail bears no resemblance to anything else that we have that hunter biden has ever written. in fact, it sounded like something produced by the state department. there's no question that hunter biden used classified materials to assemble this e-mail. listen carefully. "the strategic values to create a land bridge for r.u. to crimea." he used the diplomatic abbreviation for russia. "that won't affect burisma
5:07 pm
holdings. it was also further destabilize the u.k. nationally and for whatever government is in power and the u.s. will respond with stronger sanctions. those sanctions will threaten the tenuous support of the e.u., which does not have the political will to incur steep energy price increases" and so on. now keep in mind, if you're wondering, is this plausible? keep in mind when he wrote this e-mail, hunter biden was an active drug addict. two months before he wrote this in february of 2014, he had been thrown out of the navy for cocaine use. he couldn't even stay sober long enough to pass a scheduled drug test. he was completely out of control. yet somehow in that state, in this e-mail, hunter biden managed to sound like a seasoned ukraine hand from foggy bottom referring to russia as r.u. and all the rest. he seemed to know for a fact the
5:08 pm
details of american diplomatic strategy in the region. the u.s. will respond with stronger sanctions. how did hunter biden know that? come on. come on. keep in mind when mike flynn mentioned the topic of sanctions to the ambassador from russia, the fbi swooped in and destroyed his life and threatened to send him to prison. he was the national security adviser at the time. he had the highest possible clearances that you could have. hunter biden had no clearances whatsoever. he was the drug addict son of the vice president. here he is in this e-mail casually mentioning to his business partner that sanctions may be coming and here's the effects on the e.u. and energy prices in order to keep making $80,000 a month in a no show job on the board of ukrainian energy company working on a topic that he knew nothing about it so what are we looking at here? this is a crime. that's a crime. a real one. hunter biden clearly knew it was a crime. he told his business parter in
5:09 pm
the same el mail to go to cvs to buy a burner phone. what is amazing and telling, the dodge has had this for years. the fbi seized hunter biden's laptop before the last presidential election in 2020. keep in mind also the context. the context is always ukraine. that was true in 2014, it's true in 2023. back in 2015, ukraine's top prosecutor began investigating burisma. wondering why is it paying the vice president's son tens of thousands of dollars a month. how did joe biden respond? within a year, joe biden, the vice president of the united states had slokin fired be withholding money. here's the tape. >> i went over. i guess the 12th, 13th time to kiev. i was going -- supposed to
5:10 pm
announce that there's another billion dollar loan guarantee. i got a commitment from poroshenko that they would take action against the state prosecutor. they didn't. so they said they were walking out of the press conference. i said no, we're not going to give you the billion dollars. they said you got no authority. you're not the president. the president said -- i said call him. i'm telling you you're not getting the billion dollars. i said you're not getting the billion. i'm going to be leaving here in six hours. i look and i said i'm leaving in six hours. if the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money. son of a bitch. he got fired. >> tucker: arrogance is his weakness. can you imagine bragging about that? joe biden in the council of foreign relations on camera admitted that he had the prosecutor fired because the prosecutor is doing what our department of justice would not do. he wanted the vice president's son investigated for trading
5:11 pm
classified information to this business for cash. joe biden just admitted that he acted on behalf of the u.s. government but actually on behalf of his family. that's a crime. hunter biden had access to documents. that's a crime. here he is bragging about it. this is the scandal right there. it's about ukraine and it's about the biden family's stream of income; which was illegitimate. so we put in a simple request to the white house and to hunter biden. a simple question. did hunter biden ever receive in any form u.s. government classified information about ukraine? period. did this happen or not. they didn't respond because the answer very obviously we know thanks to the reporting of miranda divine is yes. he joins us now. thanks for the story that you wrote and for joining us tonight. so you read the entire laptop. you wrote a book about it.
5:12 pm
tell us how different this is from everything else that you saw on the laptop. >> hi, tucker. this e-mail is like nothing else that huntser has written in the entire nine years covered by the laptop. it is extremely long. 1,300 words. it's very detailed, very well-informed, well-written. you know, it reads like an official document. it reads like a classified document. there's information in there that is not readily available. he sounds very knowledgeable and very breezy about it. you have to remember, this is at a time, a month before he joined the burisma board. he needed money desperately. to feed his drug habit. they were going to pay him $83,000 a month to do not very much. obviously they were paying for his proximity to his father and he was showing, as he never did again, his value to them.
5:13 pm
having access to classified information would make his price much higher. so that sort of the motive for it. the other thing about it is that it's very easy, i think, for the special counsel, robert hur, to immediately just clear up whether or not hunter had access to classified information by just cross-matching that e-mail and other information on the laptop with the information in those classified documents that have been discovered at five different locations in joe biden's home and his office at the university of pennsylvania. it should be pretty clear. we know a bare minimum about those classified documents. what we do know is that they pertained to at least the first tranche to ukraine, to the united kingdom and to iran. now, this particular e-mail talks about ukraine and the
5:14 pm
united kingdom. so it's kind of a guess at this point. it's a pretty obvious connection. i think this is a perfect synergy for the special counsel looking into joe biden to connect with the u.s. attorney in delaware who is investigating hunter biden. >> tucker: well, yeah, they tried to send mike flynn to prison for talking about sanctions. if your a foreign country, u.s. sanctions are a powerful tool. they can undo your economy. you want to know what the trigger is, correct? so this will trigger sanctions is a keep speaking of important classified information. is there anything more important than that than war plans? >> well, this was a week before joe biden went to ukraine armed with millions of dollars in emergency aid for the ukrainian
5:15 pm
energy industry. hunter was angling to get on the board of a ukrainian energy company. what goes around comes around. >> tucker: it's all so degrading to the country. miranda divine, thanks for your reporting. appreciate it. >> thanks, tucker. >> tucker: since the moment he took office, job has encouraged no exaggeration the poorest people in the world to move to the united states with no effect on the country or our labor markets. that's happening. a lot of these people are coming by boat and a lot are landing in florida. coast guard just intercepted one boat that is huge. so big the video is hard to believe. trace gallagher has that story for us tonight. hi, trace. >> hi, tucker. that was the biggest smuggling incident in the region. 396 haitian migrants found sailing on a 50-foot boat. there wasn't room for all the migrants to sit down. the boat was spotted near an island between cuba and florida. the florida keys was likely their destination. in the last three months, migrant encounters in an around

miami are up 400%. haitians are leaving their country because of deepening political instability which is saying something considering haiti is among the most politically unstable places on the planet. there's not a single democratically elected institution in haiti. haitian nationals are fleeing in numbers not seen in more than two decade. last fiscal year, the coast guard interdicted more than 7,000 migrants from haiti. that does not include the tens of thousands that have come across the southern border. the migrants found today are being taken to the bahamas, processed around return to haiti. many on board said they would get on another boat and come back to the u.s. dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas says all haitian migrants at sea would be repatated. cuban migrants that got one foot on u.s. land were allowed to
5:17 pm
stay. now it appears any haitian migrant comes by sea are turned away. if they walk to the southern border, their odds of staying in the u.s. are exceptionally good. >> tucker: thanks, trace. see you every night at midnight on this channel. so the pentagon has just decided we need to send tanks to ukraine, m-1 abrams tanks, a complicated piece of equipment. who will run the tanks and who will fix them? nobody in ukraine. americans will do that. but it's true. the mayor in chicago has a new plan for crime. digital currency. it's all so perfect. straight ahead.

5:23 pm
criminals on foot, et cetera, et cetera. as a result, the poorest people are suffering the most. street vendors robbed all the time. so lori lightfoot is trying to get re-elected mayor of chicago. unbelievable that that could happen. but she might be re-elected. during the debate, the other day, she was asked how are you going to stop crime? she had no answer at all. she told street vendors to carry as little cash as possible. >> we have been in little village working with the street vendors understanding what the nature of the crime is, making sure we're doing things in concert with them to help them make sure that their money is secure and not use money if at all possible, using other forms of transactions to take care of themselves. >> tucker: so what you need, street vendors, dirty water dog guy, some central bank digital currency. so avida duffy is a reporter at the federalist. she has spoken to several tamale
5:24 pm
vendors about lori lightfoot's plan. thanks so much for coming on tonight. so how do the that ma'amly vendors in chicago feel about using central bank digital currency for their tamales? >> they didn't like it very much. i spoke to a lot of tamales vendors. this is what one had to say. >> so they take them from the truck, a little white truck. so they came in and they just came with their guns. pointing at me. so they go like this. so they took my little change that i had. hit my. >> tucker: yeah. so he doesn't seem to think or he didn't say in that interview with you, a very sad story, that getting rid of cash would solve his problems. they punched him in the face anyway. >> yeah, tucker. just a little context about this community. it's a majority hispanic.

5:30 pm
mark. blackrock is happy to take the money that they make making houses unaffordable for americans and giving it to a country 5,000 miles away. >> jesse: >> tucker: all of these ukrainians are dying. americans will die. those tanks need americans to operate and maintain them. so americans will die in this war. even greater number than they have. so if you're blackrock or j.p. morgan, aren't you a little bit ashamed? >> no. they don't think of themselves as americans. they're ashamed to be american. they think of themselves as citizens of the world, right? these obligations to community, to tradition, to nation, that's just obstacles in the way of their pursuit of power and wealth. >> tucker: yeah, that's totally true. honestly it's republicans like lindsey graham and michael mccaul in the house making this possible. both of them are always welcome to explain why they're doing this exactly. bradley, great to see you. thank you.

and won't support ninth month abortion for children. this is a party that believes in this transgender grooming thing to a point where they allow -- they want you to castrate little boys and cut off the breasts of girls and tell you they're not held responsible for that. that is a lie. the democratic party is an evil institution. they're controlled by a cabal of perverts, liars and psychopaths. and if you want to know what evil is, i'll make it easy for you. anybody that intentionally harms a child, even jesus christ said if you harm one of these little ones it's better than a mill stone tied around your neck and you be thrown in the sea. i home some of these democrats can swim. >> tucker: thanks, vince. congrats on the documentary.
