>> i think it is discouraging people. i think it is increasing the number of minorities we have in the universities and outcomes we see, not having a positive effect. we look at the numbers and nsf provides numbers with number of minorities within certain stem fields and we find the numbers have increased slightly, we don't see they are being hired into the industry and fields coming out of the universities. outcome of students is not getting better, this is some way of universities trying to build up virtue signalling by number of minority students without concern if the students are successful once they leave universities. that is the opposite of what we should be thinking about when teaching students. our goal is to provide them a foundation for a successful career in the future and

outcomes are not occurring. >> those are fascinating stats, interesting evidence i was unaware of. in earth science, you talk of the false climate emergency, your words, it has serious health consequences in the mental health space. why do you say that? >> i see this directly from my students. i talk to emthis, ask them and probe them about how they feel about climate, what their future ambitions are and i see this constant catest officerism is robbing their future. i have had multiple students come and tell me they no longer plan to have a family, they don't think raising children in this world would be smart because the planet is going to end, this is opposite of how we motivate young people to be good stewards of the environment and to look at their future and be responsible and make sacrifices

now so they could have a brighter future. it is the opposite of what we should be doing, if we're trying to motivate young people to be good stewards. >> todd: you call yourself a classical liberal, that is how i describe 95% of my professors when i was in college back in the day, is there a place for you and people like you in our university system anymore? >> that is a great question. i mean, i'm not sure. i think that it was clear to me that speaking up about things like climate and dei was career suicide and i think it really was. i hope that a few more people like me that go through this will allow more discussion, this is part of liberalism that even asking questions or talking about outcomes and possible unforeseen consequences, i think dei, probably there hearts in the right place. we should have more inclusivity

>> carley: bonds are set for the four men charged in the alleged rape of louisiana state university student madison brooks who was later hit by a car and killed. >> lauren blanchard joins us with the latest. >> campus is heart zone over the alleged rape and death of madison brooks. four suspects have been charged. 18-year-old kayvon washington and unidentified 17-year-old have been charged with third degree rape. washington's bond was set at $150,000. the other two men, ages 28 and 18 charged with principle to the third degree rape. they cannot talk about rape on social media machine dropped her off in a subdivision wandered into the street and struck by another car. brooks toxicology report showed a blood alcohol level of 3.19
