"there has to be legislative effects through these things. i understand these are well-meaning reforms that were done, but when you see it in practice, recognize there has to be remedy, 350 teens shot last year and more than 2018-2019 combined. eric adams with bail reform law in the state and city, listen. >> we all agree nobody should be in jail simply because they cannot afford to post bail. but we should also agree that we cannot allow a small number of violent individuals to continue terrorizing our neighborhoods over and over again. more neighborhood safety teams and safety alliance and the nypd is focused on retail effect. he wants to host crime data so the public can get police input and feedback. >> ashley: my biggest question is where is kathy hochul because

she said last year i'm not going to touch bail reform, let's be honest everything with bail reform because no repercussions for anyone in new york right now. you can go to jail and get out but she said she wouldn't touch bail reform and that topic until january and nothing is going to change until leadership steps up to the plate, works with the d.a.'s office to get bail reforms under control. because it doesn't matter if you have 45 or 45,000 cops on the streets of new york or any other city. as long as they are letting these criminals out, they are going to keep with crime. it doesn't matter with the police and the amount of police you have but it does start with bail reform. getting in jail and keeping them in jail for a period of time. there has to be some sort of consequence. there is no consequence to these people's actions. >> todd: you nailed it from top to bottom, urinalysis was perfect. calling out the problem, that is

a good start but to your point, city leaders force all the new legislators and kathy hochul to do something, nothing will change and i will go over insane facts here, the number of kids involved in shootings has spiked 70% since 2017. think about that, 70%! but i commissioner of the cops nypd with an arrest of juveniles, ashley to your point, we are not giving them the needed time out and parents give kids a timeout when they act up but if you commit a crime you should get a timeout iep prosecuted and be put behind bars or juvenile offender in some kind of program but none of this is happening. so if there is no fear of punishment, none of this is going to stop and eric adams comments, good, he's going to be targeting hopefully according to his plan the criminals that commit most of the crime, but to

your point, ashley, the bail and discovery laws if they don't change, there isn't much the city can do. you can keep re-arresting the people but if back on the street this will be a perpetual cycle that never ends. >> ashley: it will be a perpetual cycle to set up your and everyone that we are talking about here to the end of time until something changes. switching gears now the victim of new york city anti-semitic hate crime is now slamming manhattan d.a. alvin bradford giving one of his attackers a pretty cushy plea deal. and offered six months in jail and five years probation for participating violent attack during a pro israel rally last year. the victim was punched, kicked and pepper sprayed as the group shouted anti-semitic slurs at him during the attack and arrest. he told the police, "i will do it again. i have no problem doing it again." alvin bragg's office to pending the sentence saying, the suspect

did not initiate the attack. the victim's father passion 58 and it's disgusting how alvin bragg calls himself a crime fighter and tried to killn jail and one guy tried to walk y and it is a hate crime. >> todd: out to this, a colorado man behind bars one upward intentionally running police truck into a police station. you see the video. he smashes into the glass doors crashing into the lobby and hitting an elevator. you can see it close up, there it is from a different angle, arrested and obviously a slew of charges including attempted first-degree murder and attempted homicide. miraculously no one was injured in this incident but get this, it could cost up to $1 million to repair all the damage. after a devastating active vandals, the future is uncertain for michigan brewery who has spent years trying to build up his business. speak to the brink company to

open over the summer but pushed back. the teenagers cost $200,000 of damage to the property. >> todd: brian with this mess joins us now with more, first off, sorry this is happening, this is horrific but describes what the 13 years old's did in detail to your brewery. >> they showed up three days in a row last monday, tuesday, and wednesday. they broke every window, every overhead door, over 100 and some windows destroyed, ransacked the building, destroyed a skype track in the building, remove the oil cap, hydraulic lines and filled everything with sand. they destroyed a 15 passenger van and to move things around and get things done. and completely put a huge setback on the building and project to move forward. >> ashley: ryan, these were 13-year-old kids, they were children, let's call it what it

is. it seems they went out to destroy as much as they could in as little time as they could. had the police responded that you have been talking to, have they ever come in contact with these kids before? >> they have and it sounds like they have a previous record and other issues with the police. one in juvenile has been kicked out of cool incident for behavioral issues but i didn't know them and there is no motive, it is very malicious and violent attack to come back here for three days. so there is no reason or motive why they did it. >> todd: this business was your dream but describe the efforts to get the brewery off of the ground prior to this. >> i spent the last 7-10 years, seven years in the building process. i own a construction company so i was able to put it all together. i have worked and saved my money, save materials and save

for everything in the building. it is also funded, a labor of love, a project for the community. a private place for people to gather and hang out and enjoy. i'm exhausted. everything in my savings, retirement and we plan to move forward in the summer and everything available for the weekend. but at this point, it's not even recoverable. and due to prior thefts and vandalism, so the building is uninsured. at this point commit is a total loss for me. >> ashley: you said the first go around $100,000 but come to find out more like $200,000. do you think you'll ever see any money from the suspects to try to make up f what they did? >> unfortunately, no, the legal system kind of fails and that fact. they will probably get a slap on the hand in zero accountability or any recourse or type of

restitution like that. it is hard to get 200000 out of 3 13-year-olds appear their parents should be as much to blame as they are at this point. no one has come forward or said anything or offered any way to solve anything or take care of things. they should be held as accountable as their kids. >> todd: to ask yourself what makes a 13-year-old -- i don't want to use the word jaded but reach the point in their life where they think destroying someone's dream is fun? >> what is shocking, so young and they have little empathy or recourse after the police questioned them as well. it was in a one-shot deal either. got to make it morally okay but if someone showed up were spray-painted something that is one thing but to have malicious and violent attacks three days and literally destroy everything, it is a sign of future problems for these kids. hopefully, they get some help in

now, carolyn jones, the chapter chair told h pulled her kids frm the district in 2022. a renoir school district alone running for the school board and the school district or that is out, everyone, thank you for being with us this morning. i know i want to dissect but i want to go to you first because you did pull your kids out in the fall of 2022. why did you do that? >> first of all, thank you so much for having me on this morning. and the reason why i pulled my kids out is it goes back to this policy we adopted the start of the year. that policy itself is 504 dot 13 a transgender policy that allows males and females to be in the same bathroom locker room but most importantly, it supports --

it supports keeping records from parents and it excludes parents so a child can have another file or student file that is separate and the school administration is not required to show that two parents. >> ashley: chelsea come i want to read this, the school board member that causes -- is responding to the backlash, this post doesn't say the parents don't matter or that students don't matter. she goes on to say our community is the collective for which it exists, not for any one parent or student or any one person but rather for us all. the only agenda of public education is to educate everyone for the benefit of everyone. so, is this a good enough response after this title wave that she caused with a lot of parents and the school district? >> no, no, it was an embarrassing attempt to smooth things over with the parents and

taxpayers. it is amusing. let's be honest, she is quite the opposite of what we would call a critical thinker and she's there to play her role as echo chamber for the school board and that is it. the thought that rachel shared, it was first by democratic senator molly who is an educator of iowa 30 years and she will let you know that. so, rachel is taking this information and shoving it out and trying to make it her own and then publicly apologizing and coming out with her own reasons why she said afterwards when parents are in an uproar. >> ashley: you know, taking into consideration what chelsea and geralyn just said, you're running for the school board. how will you get people like geralyn and chelsea to vote for you? >> i'm ready to listen. parents like this have been coming to the school board members every month speaking up and say again, they've had enough.

but nothing is happening. more changes happening in this november we will see that change, especially in iowa. >> ashley: geralyn, you said you pulled your kids out in the fall of 2022 because of the transgender rules put in place, where are they now? >> i currently homeschool my kids. so i could have enrolled them in another public school because of the districts in our area but i chose to homeschool them independently so we are not attached to local homeschool programs either. >> ashley: so the governor's bill that got pushed through early this week with the school choice bill, is that going to change anything for the coming school year for you? >> yeah, absolutely. it gives me as a parent more options and opens up some stores we didn't have before. i can take my kids and tax dollars to like a private school if i wanted to. it has to be spent on a credited

program. i definitely could put them into private school and it would ease the burden on myself. but not just necessarily make him above all those other families in the community that are being forced into these public schools that are not catering to the parents and working with the parents when it comes to policies or educating their kids and curriculum. >> ashley: chelsea, your stepdaughter is still in the public school system. you pulled your younger kid out and not private. what will you do with your stepdaughter? do you guys have any idea? >> are stepdaughter will remain at landmark in the story with that, we spent thousands and thousands of dollars to have this be the school my daughter attends because we put her in there and known to be one of the best schools in iowa so we built her a home in the linn-mar district because of the school

district and now, like the joke is on us. >> ashley: that is so sad to hear and gauge, you are alumni of the linn-mar district. how does this make you feel knowing this is what happen where you went to school and where you grew up? >> you know, i spoke about this a couple of months ago, this is a school every student dreads going to iowa. we are in a sad state with woke policies being shut down parents throats and nobody can do anything about it. i'm not embarrassed and not proud to say that i went to linn-mar, but proud to see the change in the future. >> ashley: that is always good to have that hope, especially for a place like this, especially with here chelsea and geralyn say they went to court. geralyn jones, gage, josie newton, we appreciate you getting up with us this morning.

president biden's handling of the border for being too strict. new york congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez at the forefront of the pushback's, saying biden need to end trump era border policy to expel migrants to dispatch covid-19. speak with the right to seek asylum is enshrined into domestic and international law. in the united states is a shining example. the administration is making it effectively impossible to seek asylum at the border. >> human rights activist, he should reverse course. >> ashley: this comes after the white house laid out a silent plan which allows up to 30,000 migrants from cuba to nicaragua, venezuela to enter the u.s. each month. too strict. my mouth actually dropped when i read that this morning, todd. >> todd: did the producers messed something up? no, they have not. it is as insane as you think it is. it is part of the left's plan to

expand asylum when in reality very, very few cases ultimately qualify for asylum. i think we are all sympathetic to the play of the person who wants to come here for a better economic life and opportunity. but that does not qualify for asylum. when you listen to democrats, at least the ones that are talking and accusing joe biden's border policies of being too strict, that is their definition of asylum. unfortunately, that is not what the law says. we need to be strict when it comes to one qualifies for asylum so as to not burden the courts and not overburden the nation. if they want to go through the legal immigration process, that is fine. if they want to come here and applied to be american citizens, that is great. when you try to bypass the line, you better make sure asylum is actually warranted. >> ashley: can you imagine being someone and i'm sure, i know people personally that

weight of five, ten years to get to america and with the legal way. they see this and i'm sure it's frustrating for them. somewhere around 50 percent don't agree with what is happening at the border. because if they come here legally or their families did and there is history, they don't like to see that appear they had to do it a different way, the right way. and as you said, todd, this is a humanitarian issue. but you hear people like aoc and cory booker sagging the policies are too strict at the border, it makes you wonder what planet they are living on pier they obviously have not been down to the border to visit what is happening. but not only that, they are talking about letting people ann end obviously they claim asylum if that is the legal aspect and the legal route they could take. what about the people like the cartels? what about the human traff

traffickers. these people being traffic. what about that? you never hear them talk about those issues, the drugs, the fentanyl. i talked to a guy yesterday who talked about the d.a. and fentanyl numbers is just astonishing this year. tens and tens and thousands of pounds of fentanyl flowing into the border. it will take a really long time to try to get this cleaned up because like we said, you know, it takes a couple of years. you see how much damage is done in a year and a half. how long it is it going to take to clean this up. >> todd: all of those cannot claim asylum. 1100 migrants with no criminal records released from dissension facility. 515 of them have prior charges and 641 have active charges. and the take away is, they can't apply for asylum. that disqualifies them for applying for asylum.

you. i think his demeanor was a little bit disingenuous. what i mean by that one of the first witnesses the prosecution put on was an investigator who arrives at the scene around 10:00. he doesn't see any tears at all in alex murdaugh's face. any ears alex murdaugh blurted out, "i think somebody was stalking my son and somebody might have been after my son for another reason. so the jury hears that. and they look at him in the courtroom and he is sobbing. and i really don't think it went over well. i think the jury thinks he's embellishing. >> todd: what do you make of that revenge theory with regard to 2019 fatal vote crash that you just mentioned. they are trying to come after my son for the crash defense. >> i think this is a devastating fact, todd, you've got the females on that jury and adults

on that jury. and they are going to be analyzing this from their visceral reaction is going to be when they see a wife and a son murder, impact the first testimony about the brain matter of paul, the sun come up blown out of his head next to his feet. all of that said, how are you going to react? how am i going to react? i would probably collapse in the first thing he's talking about is he's manufacturing a motive for somebody else to have killed his son. it just doesn't make sense. >> todd: it is an odd first thing for a father to say upon seeing such a horrific scene. if you look at the defense strategy, that is obviously one part of it but the other is trying to paint the police as sloppy. take a listen. >> did you in any way have your man or women put protective gear on their feet?

i saw you put gloves on but did they do anything to insulate themselves or contaminate the scene? >> on their feet, no. >> todd: brian, this is their strategy and one of the way things the defense has right now that they can attack this case on, but is it working for you? >> a good defense lawyer will make that argument, todd. and i think it is effective to a certain extent. think about the idaho murder case, right? that is the argument while years in that case will make all's well so committed contamination of the crime scene the people over the house and same thing here, in fact, he was asking, did you measure the tire tracks? the investigator said no, that is not our job. that does ring well with the jury but at the end of the day, what this will boil down to, todd clement's was was there in the blood spatter on murdaugh's shirt.

in a gunshot residue, for example, on his hands or clothing? and i think that the prosecution really is going to need some of that evidence to convict murdaugh and that will be a second offense for murdaugh. his early to my closures will argue, where's the forensics? i did hear one thing in opening statement that i think the prosecutors found a raincoat at murdaugh's mother's house and testing that but it is an interesting case it could be gunshot residue on the raincoat. if there is, he might be toast. >> todd: forensics obviously the biggest challenge for the prosecution making their case and we will see what they have as this case transpires, we appreciate you very much. adam schiff running for senate of california after getting kicked off house intel committee. now, there is a new bill that would keep him from ever having
