2:01 pm
he is the best player on the planet again. >> novak djokovic tying the all-time men's record for grand slam titles with 22 wins. he called australian open with the biggest victory of his life capping off an emotional journey. one year ago would novak djokovic to write for the open and was told his visa was canceled because he was not exempt from the vaccination against covid. the dispute became an international incident and ended with the deportation from australia. above identifying the impact of the coronavirus restrictions in our reduction. jason chaffetz as a sports analysis, tennis fan, what is your reaction. jason: i love tennis to win ten times australia is amazing the way the government treated the premier athlete in all of sports this guy is the goat of tennis. he is unbelievable, to deny him and kick him out of the country
2:02 pm
and what we did in the united states did not allow him to come in and for the way the aussies, i love australia i lived in australia for a year with my wife and little kids but for the way he was treated for him to have his victory, he said of the 22 grand same sees one, probably the most important to him because of the emotional journey he went on and he shouldn't of had to go through. >> is absolutely insane that they deported him especially given that they were following the science when anybody gets vaccine can spread the disease. you mentioned how the government is treating this. now we know he wants to come to the u.s. open again that will be in august when the united states. but molly we still have this restriction for people who come in from foreign countries, they sought to prove that they have been vaccinated for covid and yet he may not be let in. molly: he could miss two of the u.s. tournaments because the restriction has been pushed off until april it was supposed to be lifted in january and it
2:03 pm
wasn't, this is quietly done i did not realize it had been done until he looked into the story. tac released a letter the u.s. government issuing an extension if you're non-us you have to be vaccinated against covid to come into the country the tsa put out the extension until april 10 so he cannot further interruption of his career and i think a lot of people don't even know this is happening the cdc, the tsa needs to offer more clarity and explain why this extension has occurred yet again. >> the extension, they simply want to keep control it's almost like they want to make an example out of novak djokovic. there's a huge double standard. the white house has been asked about this in peter doocy asked the white house press secretary in august when this was an issue with novak djokovic snapping about into the country last year, let's take a look at what they said then. >> how come migrants are allowed to come into this country and vaccinated but world-class tennis players are not.
2:04 pm

2:05 pm
can have to change their minds the rule is bad to begin with it doesn't matter when they change their minds we need to hold them accountable for what they did in this guy has such dignity i love novak djokovic because is been poised and he so polite he went over to australia and they sent him back and he said i'll get back on the plane. >> is been so nice, nicer than he had to be he's a hero because he stood up, he could have the doctor squared that thing in the sink and sign his axing card and he would be fine he didn't do that. i wish more athletes to the same thing. >> he held the line even knowing he would miss out on titles that they didn't let a man he would have 24 titles instead of 22, almost at this point if you let them into the u.s. open you read in the system and the fact that
2:06 pm
he didn't hold the line is setting the example with his jobs and other consequences does a lot about his dignity and the fact that he says what he believes and he doesn't back down and have a double standard for himself. >> the science says this is not a person in high risk and what does the science doing the duplicity with the millions of people across our borders and see the borders close but they knowingly take people in that is not what the requirements that is so fundamentally totally wrong from start to finish. it is something that has to change because a good person like this is not about into the country but if you break the law and get a coyote, no problem will give you phone and money in all kinds of things but this guy doing it the right way is allowed to compete. >> he brought up the tsa meeting clarified this is coming from the biden administration there passing the regulation down but
2:07 pm
it's very frustrating for everyday people to look at the disconnect of the policies and why there is a double standard why do some people get to break the rules while other people follow the rules are essentially punished for it including big entropy career moves like not being able to play the u.s. open. >> one of the most striking things with cream john. the white house happened in august of 2022 and you feel like thinking of the same conversation all over again today not much has changed, when do we move forward and allow the elite athlete into america and enormous numbers of people crossing the border as peter pointed out more than six months ago that we don't other vaccination status at all i feel a new revolving situation and were not moving forward is still up to the government to have those answers. >> these are the same people who continue to claim that they are following the science, dr. fauci said he was in science and they could criticize anything that he
2:08 pm
did and criticizing the science and they aren't following the science and science doesn't apply to millions of people and it does apply to novak djokovic. >> i don't even like talking about the science when you're talking about medical freedom and i don't care if the vaccine works or doesn't work i don't care for stops transmission, medical freedom is medical freedom, when people say i hear this all the time even people who were antilock down, would it doesn't stop transmission there's no reason what we need to do is talk about medical freedom and say what's awkward to be allowed in the future because what happened is lunacy. >> that's certainly conversation to move forward so it doesn't happen again. coming up on "the big sunday show" sore loser, congressman

>> welcome back to "the big sunday show", the drama over house committee positions is building with an unexpected vote with high profile democrat tomorrow night congressman adam schiff and swalwell cannot get over getting kicked off the intel committee and omar is trying to save a spot on foreign affairs. today all three defended the actions that got them booted in the first place like adam schiff to instill pushing the russian collusion hoax. >> what we found in our investigation donald trump's campaign manager was sharing polling data and the strategy for key battleground states with an agent of russian intel intelligence. >> swalwell maintaining he did nothing wrong even though we had some sort of relationship with the chinese by. >> don't take my word for take the fbi's word for, they never talk about ongoing investigations.
2:14 pm
>> three different times they came out, two things ali did was help them and also i was never under any suspicion of wrongdoing. >> the same fbi who mccarthy said told him troubling information about eric swalwell in leadership briefings then there's congressman omar who many republicans don't want the foreign relations committee because of past insight somatic comments. what is she doing now, calling republicans racist. >> many of these members don't believe a muslim, refugee, and african should be in congress let alone have the opportunity to share on the 41st committee. these people are okay with xenophobia. >> there you go all mine that, i would go straight to you, your thoughts. >> these three trying to assign motivation to cover mccarthy and the rest of the republicans is wrong and it's off-base and
2:15 pm
they're ill-informed to say the best, the select committee for intelligence which involves adam schiff in eric swalwell is different than other committee assignments they have lied routinely looking at classified information that have gone into the world to see classified information now i'm getting tell you what i saw even though you're not supposed to do that and it ends up those were lies, kevin mccarthy as the speaker of the house can dismiss and not allow them to have it. i think they should be totally 100% stripped in their security clearances even as a rank-and-file you get a security clearance they should have that let alone looking at the nation's most important intelligence. i take a little different track on ilhan omar. i think the congressman that decision is up to the democrats at all think you should be up to the republicans and marginally taylor green off of their committees, they said wait a second we get a make that
2:16 pm
decision and i think the same principle is true. kevin mccarthy is having a hard time getting the votes. they have to vote on that to populate the committees but i think is going to lose that there are enough republicans that say enough of this. democrats get to pick the republicans, for the normal committees that's how i would bow i know i'm in the minority, jefferies and company get to make that decision, republicans should handpick who gets to be under regular committee not a select committee but a regular committee. >> intelligence viewed as a little different. i wanted to get to you we listen from the sound from adam schiff, i thought it was a flashback. when was this from recently as today, your thoughts to jason's point yet disappointed a lot of people with felt like he had the shooter was going to drop in may
2:17 pm
not feel like he belongs on the committee. it's interesting to watch it like the republican party and they're doing this out of thin air, they can thank nancy pelosi for this they started this war in their playing by their rules and they don't like being held to their own standards when it comes to their committees. i disagree to jason when it comes to the committee assignment what is being taken away as kevin mccarthy has said speaker mccarthy he's not say they can't survive any committee is a very specific committee the intel in foreign affairs which have to do with national security. adam schiff abused his position as the chairman of the intelligence committee by lying about the intelligence for political purposes. we know the whole thing with eric swalwell in the honeypot situation and for a long hallmark and as horrific as her intake somatic comments have been repeatedly, that's not why i think she's being taken off the foreign affairs committee i think she expressed and made fun
2:18 pm
of americans for being afraid of al-qaeda and has been the, she said some people do something on 9/11 so would it comes to her comments about terrorist organizations which have killed hundreds and thousands of americans, that seems like it's a bit of an issue when it comes to the intelligence committee. it's not what they said it's about the implications that they may have for national security and the fact adam schiff the day he was kicked off the committee or the day he was announced to be kicked off, he gets on ti tiktok. >> that was the next place. if you get another in example there's another one. >> maybe he could have a future career he's going to have to do some tiktok and dance videos. >> if he loses for the senate race i think ilhan omar, i think mccarthy should say some people don't want it african or muslim on these committees, he should say just you. you're the only one we don't want to on the committee but
2:19 pm
adam schiff disqualified himself because he lied repeatedly for years, same thing swalwell we know that situation. i would just assume let them keep their positions on these things i would be constantly interrogating them and turning them back. i think they have shipped into intelligence as only as a witness it down and find out get to the bottom the reason he was so confident about buying he knew there were people in our intelligence services in the fbi that had his back that's what he said all that stuff because we know there's a lot of the stuff going on and in fact if you sell the twitter files this week the russia collusion with trump is not the only thing, virtually all of the russia stuff was made up in twitter has e-mails to prove it, twitter knew they were flogging the organization and media groups talking about the russian misinformation it wasn't even there it's all made up.
