influence peddling with our adversaries around the world. and it's more concerning. more information comes out every day where his son, especially as well as his two brothers had shady business dealing with adversaries around the world. part of what they would do when they would make a pitch to these shady characters in these foreign countries has proved to them that they actually had direct access to a brother and access to people at the highest level of the federal government. so, when we learned joe biden had classified documents all over the place, and hunter biden especially lived in his house where he had those classified documents, we became extra concerned. that is why this investigation is of the utmost importance for the united states congress as well as the american people. >> ashley: that gets us to the next topic. set to testify for the house oversight committee next week on big tax roll in censoring the

hunter biden laptop. we don't care about hunter biden's laptop but how do you switch that over, this is not just about the sitting president. >> this is an investigation of joe biden. the laptop happens to contain a significant amount of evidence that would not only implicate the biden family but also the united states. we want to have this hearing to begin with to show the american people what evidence is on the laptop. we want to show the american people that the federal government tried to suppress the story. that the fbi according to the twitter files in these three former twitter employees have to explain what happened and came in and misled big tech telling them this was russian disinformation. i think it is no secret. we have heard an overwhelming majority of twitter employees like all big tech employees are

overwhelmingly liberal. therefore they are biased. my thoughts isn't so much big tech as it is with the federal government. why was the federal government trying to suppress the story? and we want to go into the details of the laptop. we have heard cbs and they came out and said that they did a forensic audit and we know it is authentic. and we know several and cnn are finally getting on board is pressing concern what is on the laptop. we are starting from the very beginning with his first which is the laptop. we will prove that the government tried to cover this up from day one. in some of the associates of the biden family includes peddling schemes. we will keep going until we bring people into the government to see what will exactly the president played in this influence peddling. >> todd: congressmen, these are three former executives. where these three responsible for the decision to ultimately

♪ ♪ >> ashley: authorities have set a bond arraignment date for the five officers who killed tyre nichols after body cambridge. speak with a five officers will be arraigned on friday february 17th. all five officers involved are facing charges including second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and official oppression. they are accused of beating nichols to death earlier this month when they pulled him over on suspicion of reckless driving. four of the five officers are out of police custody after posting bond on friday. the memphis district attorney

said there could be additional charges for others involved, listen. >> we will need time to allow the investigation to go forward and further consideration of charges. nothing we did last thursday and guarding the indictment precludes us from bringing other charges. >> this comes after memphis police department release body cam footage of the night of nichols death on friday. that sparked a nationwide protest over the beacon and rick united close to defund the police. civil rights attorney benjamin crump said the officer showed racial bias in the case even though all five were black. listen. >> i believe it is part of the institutionalized police culture just as much as those officers are responsible for the death of tyre nichols, so is the implicit bias police culture that exists in america. >> nichols mother said she will not rest until justice is served. >> i am not going to stop until

but i want you to look at this video. i looked at it from a police officer standpoint. in this video, what i saw it as a group of men that have not only done this to this young man mr. nichols, but it looked like they had done this before and it was how they empowered each other and what we as police officers call "at a boys" after the trees. how they looked at it when they finally put him under arrest leaning against the car and talking. these people had done this before. they had empowered each other. this video shows that they sold the situation and then this egregious beating of this man and still took forever to call an ambulance at the scene and he was laid over and just said, he is high. did you see him grab for my gun? those are idiosyncrasies as a police officer and i thought, yeah, this is not the first time this has happened but just the first time they have gotten

caught. >> todd: they were new recalls for qualified immunity for the police. what would that do to the profession of policing and what is a better alternative to that? >> if we reduce or eliminate qualified immunity, we will have even a more critical problem bringing people to this profession. we will not have police officers anymore. people unde need to understand t qualified immunity means and we can't act shamelessly like these five dead but we have frivolous lawsuits when doing our job. look this is not police culture. the police culture have been in 45 years and this is the culture and the previous guest is correct. these men have done this before, gotten away with it and we need to look at this police department, memphis pd from the top down because where were the

supervisors? where was the leadership? in this specialty unit if you are walking around in a black hoodie, you better be ultra-professional and ultra-restrain peer that is not what we saw here. let's not attacked the entire profession like we did after george floyd because of the horrible crimes of a few. >> todd: and i'm glad you mentioned george floyd because george floyd act is back on the table. president biden telling the family of tyre nichols that he was going to push this forward and make the case to congress to pass it. george floyd, no-knock warrants collecting data on police mismanagement limiting military equipment and mandating body cameras for police officers. chains come are those the proper reforms to put in place to improve the public's trust in policing? or is there something else we should be doing and are you worried these reforms were tied the police as hans? >> as you know, todd i've worked

in a number of departments as chief and the federal oversight and adopting best practices clearly is the right thing to do. however, as we learned yesterday to talk about qualified immunity, those are the kind of things that affect not only -- [indistinct] i'm not saying you ignore it but we can't take the police department and say everyone is on drugs. but the commentary, where were the supervisors? and this is the first time they've done this? probably not. there is a cultural issue in the memphis police department, especially corporal units come i applied early steps but it should not end there. even in admission to the chief, she says right away, they were not supervised. if they were not supervised -- [indistinct] with these less tenured officers without appropriate supervision.

the border patrol sources not telling fox news 300,000 illegal immigrants have slipped past border agents in less than three months. that is 2500 a day. not just the southwest border we are worried about, a 743% spike in migrants trying to cross the northern border. the images are showing some of those migrants at the u.s./canada boundary waiting through 12 feet of snow. and the texas department of public safety is joining us now. thank you for being with us this morning and getting up. i have to go to this issue that we are starting to see if the northern border. when you hear there has been 743% increase of crossings up north in canada, do you think that is because now it is getting around, hey it may be tougher to get through the southern border so let's head up north? >> good morning, ashley commit definitely is.

and it impacts the southwestern border but also northern border. you have people all over the world coming to the united states because they see what is happening on the southern border and how easy it is. those individuals coming through the border are rewarded in incentivized to be released into the country and provide all the resources to come into the country. so the fact that they have no strategy in place and i mean the federal government, this is a magnet for those trying to make it to the united states and it will continue to happen and we will see those numbers increase not just the southern border but the northern border as well. >> ashley: lynn tenant, you see 1.2 million got a ways since biden took office and the lack of what the federal government is doing and to tie it back to title 42, is it even working or does there need to be something else put in place because it's totally out of control. no matter how many resources at the border, it is a lost cause.

ashley. senator elizabeth warren hit on something which is president biden is still wildly particular in his own party and a poll such as 58% of democratic voters would want him to run. but you don't see that popularity with vice president harris. frankly, she's been a no-show for her party. every political battle in every significant legislative fight, she has not been in the trenches working with former senate and colleagues to whip up support or really try to get at these issues she has been assigned to tackle. she has shown up for the last tiebreaking vote or necessary for the voter watch. and so i think senator elizabeth warren is positioning herself, although she said she is running for senate again, i think she thinks of herself as that fighter, in the trenches and that person who can get past any democratic agenda. >> todd: i like how the election season for 2024 is already here. patrice, someone tapped into

washington, would you say basically elizabeth warren said they are, we are not sure about kamala harris in 2024. is that what you get from democrats in congress, there i say the majority of democrats in congress? >> i don't hear them talk about the vp ticket. i think they are grappling frankly with the top of the ticket. certainly the classified document scandal that president biden has now been forced into because he, himself has had. they were trying to figure out if that is enough to knock him off of his top perch. the vp position, i think it is much more inside baseball. when you consider the house side and the senate side, there is not a lot the democrats can get done frankly from their agenda. at best an obstruction with the republican-led house puts forward. there were lots of good ideas coming out of the house. there is not much they can do other than just try to defend their position over the past couple of years.
