all single, male adults, no children, no women. there are about a few dozen of them, and that number hasn't changed. as you well know, this is the same situation playing out for days now. the past few days, this street in manhattan, 57th, has been lined with migrants refusing to relocate to shelters. they set up camp on the sidewalk outside this high-end midtown hotel, many claiming they would rather sleep on the street than go to the brooklyn cruise terminal, they are comparing to prison. asking migrants not to boards and officials promise they have everything they need there. new york city mayor eric adams checking out the conditions and showing himself playing ping-pong with a migrant inside the facility. he says activists are steering

migrants away. >> doesn't matter if it is ellis island, brooklyn cruise, any ports, it is rooted in the american dream. i had to come here when i started hearing rumors about it was too cold. my brother got on shorts and he's inside, it's warm inside. about food not being there, healthy food is presents, even snacks are healthy. we just need to stop the anxiety. >> todd: take a look at pictures from inside the facility. volunteers working to make migrants comfortable, nutritious meals, nice bathrooms for hot showers and free transportation to migrants with m.t.a. buses and city ferries. you may know where we are, we're by another media organization in this general area, two general points, i don't see the other media organization and two, i

remember when i went on an interview at one of the media organizations years ago, i ran into a homeless vet, certainly didn't have access these folks behind me do. they can go any time they want, back to you. >> steve: thank you. the "new york post" has a great story that talks about how homeless advocates who have been in new york a long time, that is headline, insane, as in no room at the inn. they are telling people they have got to go. you wonder if activists are asking the people not to move to get the better housing situation for low income people here in new york city. but for the actual migrants, when they are being told you got to go to the cruise terminal, how many wonder, you are going to send me to a cruise terminal, are you going to put me on a boat or send me back, maybe that is reluctance to go. >> ainsley: it is a slap in the

face of those who did it the right way. there was a lady here for five years, on a work visa and she eventually became a american citizen and worked cleaning houses to send money back home and put her daughter through school, she did it on her own the right way. it cost a lot of money, she worked tirelessly to do this, to see the individuals come here and everything is paid for and them to say we don't want to go to the shelter, we'd rather sleep on the street, it is not nice. it has to be nicer than from where they came. >> brian: you want ping-pong, hot meals, 80 to 90 toilets, showers, houses 1000 people, four or five sinks per bathroom and of course you have the ferry pass, allow you to go everywhere. you just have all guys, that is the way it is going to be. they decided with advocates,

they don't want to leave the watson hotel, they will protest and sleep outside. how does that make sense? 45,000 in new york city since last spring, we don't have enough money, we cut every division of new york city and we lost millionaires and billionaires, that is what the mayor inherited and now paying bills, the mayor showed up yesterday and looked around and said don't tell me the heat is a problem, he played ping-pong and in terms with what is going on at the hotel, you would think they would be spotless and everyone ld b grateful. that is the mayor playing ping-pong, not sure what the final score was. the pictures, they are living in squalor and destroying a great hotel and philip rodriguez has to be essentially -- >> ainsley: he works at one of

the hotels. >> brian: he has to be at their beck and call. >> steve: whistleblower. >> brian: listen. >> there is no accountability, the city so-called running the program allows these people to destroy the rooms. there is no daily supervision, there is too much alcohol and drugs and violence. you have teenagers going into the staircases and making out and this is free for all. self-entitlement is beyond belief. they believe that the hotel is theirs and they are going to do what they want. and our general manager really don't care about any of the workers toxic conditions or hostile conditions, all he cares about is the money. >> steve: a lot of money, we have heard some places go for

$500 a night and they are all full and of course, you are paying for all that. meanwhile, it was over a year ago that joe biden signed the bipartisan infrastructure bill. and yesterday he went to baltimore to talk about how they're going to dig a new train tunnel there. today he's coming to new york city to talk about the gateway rail tunnel that is going to replace t hudson river tunnel, 200,000 commuters take it everyday. it is old and needs replacing, nonetheless, that is top of the list of things he's going to do. >> ainsley: he is attempting to show how he will help the middle class, he showed a picture of him in a electric vehicle that goes for $86,000, more than most people make. u.s. census, median household income in 2021, $70, 784 is what

wonder why would you want a dictatorship? they may be brutal in the long run, there is predictability that gives them comfort. democracy is hard work and you have to commit to want that type of freedom, taiwan needs to do that, they are not taking the steps and only recently they expanded near of time you have to spend in the military and make were purchases to defend the nation. >> brian: should speaker mccarthy go? >> as a nation, yes, we should not be dictated to by country killing thousands with fentanyl going to mexican drug cartel and helping in the illegal invasion in ukraine. china has no business telling us about international arms when they violate them in the south china sea. >> brian: should we be prepared to militarily defend taiwan or provide support like his

with them to assist in illegal border crossings, that personnel has been pulled back. we've asked for more funding and it has been pulled back. we are taking our own steps to protect the border. >> steve: it is interesting, you are saying people come through the southern border, but now they are flying to canada and coming to the united states on northern border. they are coming on private land and that is a problem. >> that is right. we are not waiting for them walking down the road, they come through the woods and forest, they are smart and look at where patterns are and where they have success and keep using those corridors. my job is to make sure new hampshire doesn't become a corridor. engaging with ice delegation agreements and basically saying if you don't have resources, empower us and our state police and sheriffs to patrol the

border. >> steve: what about the national guard in new hampshire? >> this is not a national guard issue, it is lack of human resources we can help provide, best resources would be local police department, sheriff, state police, we can fund opportunities and that is where we're going to go, assuming they give us the agreement, which i think they want to do. the individuals are doing as much as they possibly can, they have been pulled back, their own team pulled resources from them and we hope states step up. we'll do our part and hopefully vermont and new york follow suit. you reported yesterday 40,000 northern border crossings in the last quarter. there are pathways to make up for the federal government failing. hope we can be an example. >> steve: holo cow, thank you for bringing this to our

place, house in lincoln park, beautiful neighborhood. and parked, got out of the car, took my dog across the street for a quick walk and as you can see, somebody came down the street going the wrong way on a one-way street, jumped out, put a gun in my face and demanded my purse or they would kill me and the dog. and then they took the key fab out of my purse and went around the block and stole my car. >> ainsley: what is going through your mind when that happens to you? >> at first, you are just stunned there is a gun right in your face and you kind of confused what is going on, he moved the gun and pointed at my dog and said, give me your purse or i'll shoot you and the dog, i immediately gave him the purse and said -- i'm thinking, this can't be happening. yet it was.

it is 11:22 in the morning and i'm just walking the dog. it was just shocking and then of course after the fact, i just kind of fell apart while calling 911. you just feel so violated somebody did that on the street in the morning. >> ainsley: they found your car, they have not found the suspect. crime is up 61% in the first four weeks of 2023, compared to last year. magnificent mile, where i'm sure you love to shop, 30% of stores have left that famous street where people love to go and buy christmas and things like that. what is happening? who is to blame? >> it is the leadership. we have a complete breakdown of any kind of structure in terms of punishment, enforcing any kind of laws, the leadership is

completely out of touch. we have a mayor and state attorney who don't believe in prosecuting anything. they don't support the police. they tax taxpayers, we just got tax bills through the roof two months ago and yet they don't -- anything under $1000, they won't prosecute for theft. our governor just signed law that says we will not do cash bail anymore. so it is basically catch and release. and until we have new leadership, nothing is going to change in illinois. >> ainsley: i'm sure it is hard to watch video of her singing karaoke and dancing, when you can steal and this guy can put a gun in your face and threaten to kill you and your dog and steal your car and nothing happens. thank you for coming on and
