[laughter] >> steve: okay, lawrence. thank you very much. meanwhile, a moment ago. i mentioned the u2 plane that circled the spy balloon or the spy fly as we like to refer to it. later today, both houses of congress are going to get classified briefing to figure out to explain to the lawmakers who were didn't shoot it down fast enough. what exactly do we know about these things. we know a little bit that it's been revealed in open source reporting the balloons are apparently controlled by the people's lynn enter ration army which is the chinese military. >> brian: sounds like a wonderful group. >> steve: they have got, just before that b blew up. it had solar panels more power than a flight balloon. wind patterns it had rutters and

"the washington post" says we don't note size of the balloon fleet; however, there have been dozens of missions since 2018 and apparently the balloons are built by a technical company in china. >> ainsley: yeah. they said it's not a weather research balloon like beijing is saying. >> brian: really? >> ainsley: used for espionage and china refuses to name the company or entity that owns this flight. so, house and senate being briefed. it's going to be a classified briefing. and then the u.p.s. also held briefings in washington and beijing with 40 nations. different diplomats from different embassies that represent 40 different countries. >> steve: this is what we know. >> ainsley: that's what they were mentioning. all the information about this balloon and the details. they said the u.s. deputy secretary of state wendy sherman briefed 150 diplomats on monday representing those 40 countries. >> brian: right. >> ainsley: want to share as much as we can who may be susceptible to these types of operations. >> brian: already these balloons spotted in japan, india, taiwan

and the philippines. it's fascinating for me and seems to be a disconnect. that's why i can't wait to see what comes out of this briefing. we went to not knowing anything about these balloons. they breached our perimeter and got into our airspace in the trump years. we just didn't recognize it. then we looked back at old tapes like we all do to realm minute necessary. evidently we spotted them but didn't tell the trump people because they didn't know what to make of it. in one week we know so much about them. briefing 40 countries, briefing about multiple operations all about what they are about. who made them, how much they weigh. what their actual goal is, how they took an old technology and tried to make this sophisticated surveillance situation. the other thing that is kind of scary it doesn't seem we had the ability to surveil and pick up a balloon that's going into our hemisphere. i'm more concerned about hypersonic missiles. i understand we can really knock that out of the sky. i thought we would be able to see a balloon come into the sky

also in the president's interview with judy road roof asked about the balloon. what is this going to do about your relations want it back. he says i talked to. they wait a second you have talked to them since this happened? no, i have talked to them before. i haven't talked to them since this happened. the idea of shooting down a balloon that is gathering information over america, that's not going to make relations worse. what a bizarre answer. i talked to them but did you talk to them sense? no. i know you have talked to them. how does that come up. to me he seems totally detached from all of this. >> ainsley: criticizing him why didn't you shoot this down earlier why didn't it take 8 days? so he answered that question with judy yesterday on pbs. listen. i. >> i told the military i have wanted to shoot it down when it was safe to do it. they said it was unsafe to do it over land. they said they could learn a lot in the meantime by watching it go across the country. as soon as they had a chance to shoot it down over water they

duda. she was appointed by the governor glenn youngkin. >> steve: nominated. >> ainsley: to sit on the board of education. it has to be nominated by the board. >> steve: right. >> ainsley: she was arguing with one of the board members at one of the meetings about the constitution. she supports it. she doesn't support socialism. she is an immigrant from india. and one week later they said we're withdrawing your nomination. we're taking a vote it. passed along party lines for her not to sit on the board of education. >> steve: she was set to be confirmed on tuesday night. at the last minute because she got into this conversation with, among other people, ann hole ton, who is married to democrat senator tim kaine of the commonwealth of virginia. who said she was uncomfortable with some of the language involved. and what they were doing is they were talking about changes to history and social science curriculum in virginia schools to the fundamental principles outlined are that the declaration of independence and constitution are remarkable documents. that's what they said.

the aisle republican that we have had any support. walls this really the country i immigrated to? >> brian: right. so get. this tim kaine's wife decides she is not worthy because she brought up things like socialism and capitalism. can't really coexist together. when she brought it up and said why do you have a problem with that? that might be good for a 12th grade debate but that's not good for us. on the declaration of independence treated african-americans like second class. it didn't mention slaves. we all know that debate it. doesn't mean you sideline the declaration of independence. we wouldn't be in this country and you wouldn't be having that debate if it wasn't for the people of virginia and if it wasn't for those founding fathers as imperfect as they were which they imported, of course, from the u.k. glenn youngkin is outraged. part of the reason why he got the job as governor is because of his view on education and giving parents rights. and this was his appointment. listen. the liberals don't think liberals matter. sue 'par that is parent.

swing states would have changed their vote. president trump needed 100,000 people -- 100,000 vote swing that's a potential of 3.2 million person swick. and they twitter changed and altered the 2020 election. >> brian: what was the goal yesterday are a where do you go from here? >> we're going to go where the evidence leads us. of the goal was to get the twitter executives under oath and on the record. and there's a multitude of different ways we can go now because, of course, we have the twitter files and the folks that put them together. and i think we should be asking them things as well. because, what they were saying yesterday was very thin and it didn't add up. and if you purge yourself under oath, that's a crime. and that's where you can see here them taking that oath. so this is just the beginning. we need to know if the president of the united states is compromised and if he and his family are threats to national security. >> brian: so the fbi came back and said. this. the fbi rejects the characterization of inappropriate relationship with twitter, any other social media
