state, florida. a second stop? a battleground state this week. this time delivering remarks on social security and medicare. even as top republicans insist either program is not an option for cutting amid ongoing spending debt ceiling negotiations. now, of the president does appear eager to make this a campaign wedge issue with voters ahead of 2024. even brought it up at the state of the union address the other night. remember when the conservatives were booing and jeering on wednesday while he was in wisconsin the president once again claimed congressional republicans are working behind the scenes to reign in these programs. >> many you have have seen we had a spirited debate last night with my republican friends. they seemed shocked when i raised the plans of some of the members and their caucus to cut social security. a lot of republicans, their dream is to cut social security and medicare. it's your dream but my veto pen make it a nightmare. >> the white house says it can list multiple instances of republicans vowing to cut these

programs. it's also continuing to single out florida senate rick scott who in the past has pushed to have federal legislation expire every five years. but it turns out when he was in the senate, president biden pushed for something similar. take a listen to these comments that date back to 1995. >> i argued if we should freeze federal spending, i meant social security as well. i meant medicare and medicaid. i meant veterans benefits. i meant every single, solitary thing in the government. and i not only tried it once, i tried it twice. i tried it a third time and i tried it a fourth time. >> the white house appears eager to fire up its base though amid polling showing a majority or 62% of americans believe the biden administration has not accomplished much since taking office. and while the president has repeatedly said he plans to run for re-election. we have seen a number of polls also suggesting that a number of drank voters would like to see a new nominee come 2024. so, steve, ainsley and brian, as you mentioned, this trip down to florida may be an attempt to try

and a new report indicates the white house is also considering a deal to deport non-mexican migrants to mexico. >> president erdogan of turkey now admitting there have been problems in his nation's response to a devastating earthquake this week that have left scores of people dead trapped and even homeless. critics have said the response has been slow but he says the situation is now under control. that death toll across turkey and syria has now passed 17,000 people and that's as of this morning. but there have been some miracles, thanks to exhausted, tireless rescue crews. including this incredible rescue of a baby who was trapped underneath rubble yesterday. a twitter outage is preventing scores of users from tweeting, following accounts and accepting direct messages. twitter support tweeting about the issue saying twitter may not be working as expected for some of you, sorry for the trouble. we're aware and working to get this fixed. meanwhile, the testimony says it has increased the limit from 280

>> i'm sure they sell it on the internet. and they ravage through the van, tear it apart. take the catalytic converters. so not only is it a loss to us. it's a loss to the insurance companies as well. >> steve: that's right. i know five of your vans have been stolen in the last two years. did you ever -- did they ever find the empty shells of the vans? >> i have recovered all of them and they have been deemed complete losses. >> steve: this has got to be heart-breaking for you. you didn't see this coming, did you? >> no. none of us did. and not only is it happening to me. it's happening to contractors across the board. including electricians, painters, landscapers, plumbers. so we are just the tip of the iceberg. it's happening to all of us. >> steve: yeah. i understand you have a friend in the security business. and sometimes you'll actually have to hire security to do a

and she wasn't accepting anything. and then it was outrageous what she did. >> ainsley: she says you owe 62 # thousand in back rent. >> right. >> ainsley: you had to file chapter 11. >> i only filed chapter 11 to maybe come to an agreement with her. that's why i filed it to maybe push her to do something. we have tried. and we couldn't. >> ainsley: what did you experience during covid? some people own small businesses. >> it was the worst experience of my life. and my people that work for me and the tenants. there was nobody in the streets. there was literally no one out. and we need tourism to survive. little italy is a destination that people come to. like times square. they come to little italy and they want to experience the restaurants. nothing was open. so we stayed open, i only closed maybe two months during the pandemic and we stayed. i decided that since there's no tourism, we would feed all our community and get to do that.
