federal lawsuit accusing the institute of violating their first amendment rights. please join shannon bream for "fox news sunday." she's going to be live from glendale, arizona where the super bowl is going to be played. her guest is going to be arizona governor katie hobbs. thanks for joining us for "special report." i'm john roberts in washington. bret will be back again on monday. "jesse watters primetime" with guest host will cain starts right now. hi, will. >> will: thank you so much, john. have a good weekend. for the rest of us, welcome to "jesse watters primetime." i'm will cain. we start with a fox news alert biden is on a popping spree. moments ago the white house and the pentagon announced that another foreign object was shot from the sky. >> i can confirm that the department of defense was tracking a high altitude object over alaska airspace in the last 24 hours. the object was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight. out of an abundance of caution
4:01 pm
and at the recommendation of the pentagon, president biden ordered the military to down the object and they did. and it came inside our territorial waters. >> will: so, what is this thing? is this another chinese balloon in the pentagon says they have no clue or they are just playing stupid. >> can you say definitively it was not a balloon? >> i don't at this point, considering the fact that we're still assessing the object. i don't want to get into characterizing it. >> will: so, they are calling it an object. we don't know what kind. an object could literally be anything. they say it was so lynn democratic call in shape. but, also, the size of a chevy malibu. >> apples and oranges here in terms of size. as i said, this was the size of a small car and it was over very sparsely populated area but also
4:02 pm
more critically over -- it was over water. but, it completely different size. the debris field much, much smaller. >> will: biden wasted no time in shooting down this so-called object. this thing was shot down less than 12 hours after being identified. it didn't make it to the u.s. mainland. it was shot right over alaska. now, that's not what biden did with the chinese balloon. he let that puppy fly around for days. sucking up, well, all of our intelligence. remember, they told us they didn't shoot down that balloon because, a, they were scared debris would fall over on someone's head, somewhere in alaska. where there is one person per square mile. then, b, they told us letting it fly around would actually help our own intelligence. then, c, they told us they don't want the debris to fall off the shore of alaska since it's really really cold in the waters
4:03 pm
off of alaska, up in alaska and that would be too cold for the divers to retrieve. but i guess none of those were actually true because today they shot down this unknown object right over alaska why did they pull the trigger this time? >> threatening enough to shoot down, what is different about this object than the last object that was over alaska because it was chosen not to shoot the last one down over alaska? >> given the fact that it was operating at an altitude that posed a reasonable threat to civilian air traffic. >> as you well know, civilian aircraft operate, you know, at a variety of ranges up to 40 to 45,000 feet. again, there was a reasonable concern that it could present a threat to or potential hazard to civilian air traffic. >> so the difference between the balloon and this unidentifiable object was approximately 20,000 feet. flying too close to our airspace. from 60,000 feet with the balloon down to 40,000 feet with
4:04 pm
this ufo. it feels like whoever did this is taunting us. maybe testing joe biden to see if he would do anything. see if he would show some guts on the world stage. but the white house still has no idea who would even be behind the test or they're not telling us. >> we do not know who owns it, whether it's a state-owned or corporate owned or privately owned. we just don't know. we don't know. as i said, state-owned. we don't know if it's state-owned and we don't understand the full purpose. >> will: we just don't know. we don't know. maybe the pentagon should think about asking the chinese. they will kind of have a history with these things. a recent history. but the pentagon hasn't even bothered. >> has secretary austin reached tout his chinese counterpart or any other counterparts at all since this has been tracked? >> since this particular object? no.
4:05 pm
>> will: you'd think maybe they would be getting on their phones trying to get to the bottom of this. but they are acting like foreign objects flying around our airspace is normal well i guess it kind of is becoming normal and that's what joe biden admitted last night. >> the total amount of intelligence-gathering that's going on by every country around the world is overwhelming. the idea that a balloon could traverse -- break american airspace is -- anyway, it's not a major breach. >> will: it's no big deal. these things happen. they happen always, right? i guess that explains why biden has no regrets. >> is it a fair take away that the pentagon regrets not taking down the first balloon before it crossed the entire u.s.? >> i'm not going to speak for the pentagon. i can tell you the president doesn't regret the way that we handled the first balloon.
4:06 pm
>> will: no regrets. we just handled this one completely differently than we handled the first object, the chinese balloon. and i guess it's because unknown objects just keep flying all around us. in order for some answers, maybe we can now turn to florida congressman michael waltz because he serves on the armed services committee and he has served this great country. congressman, great to have you on "jesse watters primetime" tonight. what do you make of this? >> what are we supposed to assume this is, this ufo? >> you know, every time one of these incidents happens and then every time the white house and pentagon comes to the podium, i end up with more questions than we have answered. and now what is our shootdown criteria? what is a danger to the united states if apparently this much smaller object was shot down immediately, mainly because it was at 40,000 feet where civilian aircraft fly around. i don't know how many are around northern alaska. but apparently that was the
4:07 pm
criteria. then is that to say if it were at 60,000 feet it wouldn't be allowed or conversely if the chinese spy balloon was down where civilian a aircraft are it would have been shot down is that our only criteria or main criteria? it doesn't make any sense. and from an oversight standpoint from congress, we're going to keep demanding answers. >> will: you know, congressman. i don't want to push you beyond the responsible limits of your immediate knowledge on this. i'm not going to ask you to speculate can we at least possibly run through what the possibilities are on what this object could be? i mean, the pentagon is not admitting that it was, again, yet another balloon. but they are not saying it wasn't, either, from what i have heard. so, what are our possibilities of what this what could be this object? >> well, that's the other thing i find bizarre. if we're sending up an f-22 takes it down with a side winder, clearly, they got -- you know, the aircraft got a shot picture on it, so, just as it
4:08 pm
did the first time, why couldn't we then report back? it's just, again, it begs more questions and i think the bigger question is why is the ccp doing this? right on the heels of its meeting with biden just before blinken was supposed to come. we were made to believe that there was going to be some kind of a reset. yet, these are in your face actions and, again, to the criteria. we allow one. biden says it's no big deal. but, yet, it not only hovered over our icbm site it hovered over a stealth bomber base and over the command and control center for our entire nuclear arsenal. hovered over it, loitered over it at 60,000 feet. you can collect a lot. clearly the chinese believe that this is providing them something. so, we still have a ton of questions from an oversight standpoint. and we're not getting a lot of
4:09 pm
answers right now. >> will: let me ask you two questions at one time if i might. in hopes that we can get some actual truth. so, you brought up the shootdown criteria, congressman. i did not -- sadly, did i not serve in military, in the military for this great country as did you. but, i cannot imagine, congressman, that we go around shooting unidentifiable objects and we don't know what they are. nobody asks hey, what is it before first taking it down. so i'm having trouble trusting the pentagon saying we don't know whether a this may be at this time. the second question when you answer that is biden is saying this isn't a major breach. so can you enlighten this on exactly how often these types of incidences occur? >> yeah. so, you know, on your first question, i mean, that's mine too. clearly the pilot got eyes on the pilot got some kind of identification and was given the order that went all the way up to the president. i can't imagine they told the president we have no idea what it is but we're going to shoot
4:10 pm
it down when last time we did know what did was and chose not to shoot it down. it just -- i don't know what to make of that. but, it is incredibly concerning. we don't have clear criteria. i can promise you this. if we sent something over china's nuclear arsenal and their key command and control manned, unmanned, large, small, high, low, they were absolutely shoot it down. we know that and we need to send that same message back to beijing. so, i mean, you can hear my frustration. >> will: really quickly, how often do these occur, these types of breaches? >> well, that's the other piece is, apparently the pentagon is looking backwards now kind of rolling back the tape and finding where these different types of signatures, you know, radar signatures happened. that is an outstanding question to us, how often this has
4:11 pm
happened. we know it happened in the past all over the world. but, and this apparently is the first over the coincidental united states. continentalunited states. sensors, where they are looking and still demanding those answers from the pentagon of what did we miss? >> will: all right. congressman michael waltz, we appreciate you joining us tonight. thank you for your time. >> all right. thanks, will. >> will: coming up. so the "the washington post" tried to make this congresswoman the next george santos. too bad for "the washington post." she has receipts anna pa lena joins us next.

4:18 pm
because, well, because she is of mexican dissent and this combination is never to be forgiven a fire brand conservative woman that makes it harder to call her a violent white supremacist, being, again, mexican american and all. so just today "the washington post" put out a hit piece on luna. they were nasty. disputing a break-in she had in her missouri home. gossipping about her losing touch with family members. written a lot like a high school diary more than like a real piece of, you know, journalism. the only problem congresswoman luna, well, she brought receipts. wapo tried to raise doubt that anna's father had ever been to jail. take a look at your screen. here is a picture of her father in, you know, a prison jumpsuit. they also tried to claim that they couldn't verify anna's grandmother ever died of hiv, when medical and death records are pretty easy to verify. it gets worse. the hit piece claimed that luna
4:19 pm
was previously a registered democrat in the state of washington actually they have already issued the correction on that one. all it really took was a google search, which you usually do before you plush. that google search revealed the state of washington doesn't, in fact, do that. just remember the same dems trying to mock her for changing her last name are the same ones who for six years told you liz warren was a native american. now here shear is for herself. florida's representative for the 1st district anna paulina luna. congresswoman, great to have you on the program tonight. as i mentioned, "the washington post" has already issued one correction regarding you being previously registered as a democrat. what else did they get wrong? >> well, they did start out with saying that i basically made up the fact that my father never went to jail and, as you saw with the records that we sent to fox news, that's completely false. you know, my story, growing up within the welfare system, going to over six high schools. that's not something that the "the washington post" wants to tell the truth about.
4:20 pm
they also proceeded to leave out an entire interview with a roommate that i had that debunked a bizarre claim made by someone that was apparently stationed with me that claimed that i owned a firearm during this break. in the fact is that we have these receipts. my attorneys already issued a letter of correction. "the washington post" didn't respond to a response from fox digital nor did any of the other people that made these bizarre allegations and we will be issuing these letters to correct to vanity fair and a few other major outlets decided to run with the story before they corrected the facts. i will say that people magazine did reach out and they wanted to wait to see this before they ran the story. i will be interviewing with him after. it's awful how they treat minorities. the undertone of the article was incredibly racist. they tried to undercut my hispanic heritage. they even spoke to my mother and did a report. "the washington post" is compost and they should do better. >> will: why do you think, congresswoman, that you were their target? >> i think that my story is something that they didn't want
4:21 pm
to believe as true. again, i grew up within the welfare system. i went to over six high schools. my parents were never married. i think also one of the craziest claims they were trying to say i wasn't raised as messianic jew. i have documentation and father at synagogue. my mother confirmed this to the "the washington post" them. don't want people like me to have credibility. what they try to do is attack the reputation. mind you, this is also a few days after though i went after yoel roth and twitter for exposing them as being joint state actors. i am on congressional oversight. i do believe that they are trying to again attack my credibility. i'm not going to let them get away with it. the american people deserve honest representation. i'm exactly that and i have the receipts to prove it. >> will: many people saw that interaction with yoel roth this week from twitter. you brought up race. i would love to ask you this one last question. you know, your situation with the "the washington post" here reminds me of a story again with the "the washington post" from a few years ago when it came to south carolina senator tim scott.
4:22 pm
they seemed to question scott's story and by implication whether or not he was ethically black or had an ethically black experience in america. they point out that you changed your last name. that you previously went by your father's last name and later in life changed your last name to luna. and, again, the implication seems to me to be you're not ethically hispanic. >> that is completely true. and, again, the racist undertone of this article is pretty mind blowing. my mom actually had responded. told them how i was raised. the fact that my father was fluent in spanish. we even provided them with immigration records of my grandparents. and they didn't want to report on any of that. and so when you see how they treat minority conservatives, you understand that this isn't about reporting the truth. it's about really attacking conservatives that can reach a base that they hope to control. it is about power and the fact is that especially with hispanic americans of mexican dissent we are largely moving to the republican party and for good reason. the democrats are destroying this country and i'm not going
4:23 pm
to let them silence be my voice. if anything, i will talk to any investigative journalist that wants to correct these facts. but, remember, "the washington post" reached out to my own mother and asked for death certificate to prove my grandmother of aids due to heroin use. they couldn't confirm that in their report. >> will: i would love to say it gets better but it gets worse. all that means is you are over the over the target. we appreciate you being on the program tonight. thank you. >> thank you, god bless. >> the migrants hated new york city. the illegal illustrate grants hated new york city so much that they went to canada. it didn't work out. and now they want to come back. ♪ first psoriasis, then psoriatic arthritis. even walking was tough. i had to do something. i started cosentyx®. cosentyx can help you move, look, and feel better...
