joining us now is lucas tomlinson at the white house lucas what can you tell us? >> for third anytime a week u.s. f22 raptors shot down aircraft over north america this is unprecedented in u.s. and american history. we know that the aircraft that was shot down over canada was shot down 3:41 eastern time 11:41 local and shotdown 11 east in yukon territory in kpgd and earlier canada defense minister described what exactly was shot down. >> recovery is underway and supported by canadian arm forces in conjunction with the rmcrp allow a further investigation into this object. we have no further details about the object at this time other than it appears to be a small

sorry prime suspect definitely china. why wasn't it detected before? remember norad was set up to detect soviet bombers and missiles, hot metal fast moving objects so i'm impressed that norad has been able to figure out the signature of these smaller slower moving objects and i think they've been real smart waiting until daylight to shoot last two objects down. i hope they can recover the wreckage and learn more about what's there. they're also going to be doing a lot of radar and other analysis to try to figure out where did these things start their flight that's a crucial piece of information we're waiting for. lawrence: you know, general. what should be the response from the commander in chief? what should be response from the defender and secretary of the state. i mean, we need one stance from the president and congress right now and i don't think the

american people are getting that unity. >> yeah. lawrence, national security council should be coming together right now. the national command authority should be coming together right now. and developing a whole government response to china to send a very strong message instead of the political posturing that we continue to see. there should be diplomatic efforts, a menu presented to the president by secretary blinken and his team here's following options to discuss with china there should be from secretary austin and his team here are following options that we can do from a flexible deterrent option what we call them. things that we can do to send a message to china show of force. economic, the secretary of treasury should be presenting to the president here's some economic things that we can do to tighten the screws on china to show them that we mean business.

and do a whole government approach. i'm sorry, but president trump was really good at this. we tightened screws on economic. he negotiated. he had excellent diplomatic efforts with mike pompeo and his team. so that -- that is the type of effort that we need a whole government approach to showing china that we are strong. and represent the american people that are relying on them to protect us. lawrence: i guess that's the question, doctor grant why suspect his diplomacy working? is it because he doesn't have strength part of that strategy? >> biden strategy is to invest, align and compete. that's just not the china strategy we need today. response i want to see from biden is a renewed commitment to sending arms to taiwan. there are a lot of defensive arm sales going to taiwan. he needs to ratchet that up as

part of his response to the spy balloon flight. we need a much clearer, much stronger strategy towards china just like general tata outline hey it needs to start tomorrow we waited too long to recognize china a threat we've got to get going. lawrence: would would you doctor general thanks for joining the program. >> thank you now to another fox news alert out of new jersey where a high school superintendent has just resigned after the vicious beating of a 14-year-old that led to her suicide. the announcement coming as four students involved in that attack face upgraded criminal charges. jackie ibanez joins me now as cross country hears exclusively from the teen's father. jackie. reporter: it is heartbreaking 14-year-old adriana took her own life last friday after the horrific assault record bid fellow students in the disturbing video. students were kicking and

punching her you can see it there hitting her with a water bolt and dragging her down the hallway. her family says she even received mocking texts from someone who recorded the attack. we now know one teen is charged with aggravated assault. another with harassment and two others others with conspiracy to commit aggravate aid salt cross country with spoke with her father michael tonight and she shared this statement, quote, adriana was our baby and the world is less bright withouts her and round for your local school board. fight if your community do not let it get away from you and then wonder why. d.a. office reportedly met with school officials to discuss staffing and procedural changes before the district announced superintendent resignation tonight. lawrence back to you. lawrence: jackie thank you so much this resignation feels like direct response to the grief and the outrage of this community. all week cross country heard

from fellow students as well as parents about this story. this horrific video circulated everywhere. students were protesting telling us they're fed up with the district for ignoring what they are calling massive bullying problem. they claim that school didn't call the police or an ambulance after adriana attack do whean authorities got involved? >> well lawrence former suggest told fox friday that police were notified immediately after the attack. but that the school had still been considering pressing charge when is her father went to police directly. now tonight the school says that district is, quote, evaluating all current and past allegations of bullying. the district has contacted the department of education and will undergo independent assessment of anti-bullying policies. lawrence: unbelievable jackie thank you so much. so i'm just left with the question -- what took so long and why are they acting now? there's been a lot of blame passed around about what led to

lawrence: we're back with latest chapter in our cross country investigation into the youth crime crisis in america. it's clear there's still so much work to be done to help our young people. this week we headed to philadelphia where last year, 336 kids 18 and under were victims of gun violence. that number has more than tripled since 2015. we spoke directly to teens about -- to teens there about their challenges. but before you hear from them, we want to introduce you to the man who connected us to this community. brandon chastain a vocal advocate for kids but his work made him a target most recently someone in a car pulled up beside him and started shooting a parent assassination attempt but only strength and his

that. lawrence: why do you care so much about this issue you don't have to make this your issue. >> i grew up, my mother was 14. my father was 16. when i was born, both of them were on drugs both of them were victim to gun violence. and i carried that same, that same trait i was addicted to drugs victim to gun violence, and i'm just -- i'm just like hoping that that other kid that's looking at me he don't go through what i went through. lawrence: you say i don't to kill you, i want to heal with you. what does what mean? >> i don't to kill you physically. mentally, emotionally, financially, i don't want to kill you i want to heal with you we have to stop normalizing hate. lawrence: brandon connecting us to group of successful teenagers

overcoming violence in gang activity in their community. but as they explain to me, that success doesn't come easily. watch. >> so brandon, we, obviously, know what you do for the community. >> absolutely. lawrence: these with the young people along with miranda who teaches young people. miranda what is it like educating these young people and them still pushing through and you know what they have to deal with when they leave the classroom? >> it's amazing. so i know where these kids come from, and i know their trial and tribulations, tribulations they face every day and for them to come every day on time do what they're supposed to do in school do what they're supposed to do in the community focus on graduating is remarkable. lawrence: how many did you not think you would make it to the point that y'all are right now. one, two, three -- letter let's pass mic around. >> stressful to push through

every day. and then it's like it would beginning to like am i going to make it to school? am i going to make it home stuff like that. lawrence: why do you mean by that make it to school or home? >> i don't know people be like wanting to kill. so it's like i could be late for the bus one day and shots rang off and stray bullet hit me -- lawrence: just like that. do you feel like that that is normalized that you -- >> yeah. kind of yeah. >> what is it bad for you is it like crime or gunshots? >> the shooting. lawrence: yeah. did you ever feel like you're going get shot at yourself? >> no, yes -- yes -- but no. because -- lawrence: why were you able to make it and some people aren't. what did you do differently? >> straight home. >> straight home.

>> so if you want survive you do work and go home. >> you were afraid you wornt going make it either. why? >> because of everything that's going on outside ppg we could be saying -- say yes i was at chinese store and i heard gunshots. >> how often is it -- very often. >> you said sport saved your life how? >> sports it made me really want to become a better person and not just a person. but better at the sport that i play. it definitely cut me out of the way kept me focused in school and a lot of other things like always idolize being like michael jar jordan and at the top of the game and drugs will never put me up there. >> how many have both their moms and dad in their life?

>> one, two -- three -- >> i don't have my dad in my life because of gun violence. >> what was that like? >> growing up without a father? >> us had you. >> well at first i didn't pay any mind because i was young and i was having fun and when i turned 16 on father's day i called my mom every father's day i say happy father's day and mothers day because she was both roles. and i called her and i broke down crying. and she was like let it out. that's why i realized i had it bottled up but not until that moment i realized it. inch see you crying sweet heart what's going on in your mind it's oak take your time. that's why we're doing this. yeah. >> got to let that out. lawrence: that's why we're all here. >> you know you beat every statistic. >> yes. >> i don't know i feel like -- gun violence ruined my life.

[crying] lawrence: yeah. >> it put me in a space where i was sick. i couldn't get out of bed. i lost weight. like i just wasn't happy. it took a change, a toll, i watched my friends 'mom cry, my aunts. my mom, it's like different, it hurt. i don't care for it at all. i'll be honest, and just like you said it made me angry. i became very, very angry person other the years because of gun violence. >> how many people feel like they're walking on egg shell when is they're walking through the neighborhood? >> for me it's like -- i definitely am walking on egg shells it is not just me but i have family and cig siblings and anything can happen any moment. j one of the reasons i wanted to have this conversation with young people is because there's so many people that talk about our generation. young people but they're not talking to young people.

>> right. >> so i want to pass mic around to everyone. what do y'all want to see happen? what do y'all want more from our leaders from society? >> there's a lot bheem shea they're looking out or doing stuff for people that's not showing we don't see it but people who say like just talk about schools like and the violence but they're not trying to help it out and talk about -- the wars in streets. but they're not trying to solve it. >> all i want really is effort if you're going to like you could talk all you want and at least put the effort in to try to help. that's all i really need. >> i say more respect. to everyone. because everyone don't have as much respect. >> it's over for the black parties -- we used to do those on wednesday, and our last one got shots up. >> last block party was shot up? >> that was it for the block parties? >> not allowed to have them no more. lawrence: all they're asking is

for a little effort. returning now on this important issue cory brooks pastor at project hood of the line prep school for boys civil rights activist founder of the bob woodson center thank you for joining me again pastor it broke my heart speaking to these young people. many of them have both of their parents and other person didn't have his parent was killed on the street. so these are kids that doing they're doing all of the right things but no one is fighting for them. >> right. you know it's a very important that all of us as community leaders and those of us who parpght participant trying to make lives better to give everything we have. kick not afford to give energy, effort to not leave all of our strength on the table as far as making sure that we do everything that we can to create as many opportunities as we possibly can because our children and community deserves it and i'm hoping and praying

all across the country that we'll start having all handle on deck. where this pastors, politicians, teachers, everyone involved in our community needs to give all of the effort they can possibly give to make life better. that's the american way and that's what we all should be doing. lawrence: yeah. king i saw you nodding your head there you work with kids. every day -- you have a school where you talk to them. do they tell you similar thingings these young people were telling me? >> lawrence being honest safer in gangs rather than in schooling and other places. reason being because look at how our schools are performing. they're going to school and they're not learning how to read schools are enabling bullying and anti-self-defense i have student who are geng to the juvenile court system whom have told their administrators told the teachers somebody is bothering me at school somebody is bothering me they retaliate they get sent to jail and only 2% of juvenile offenders go to

college and six out of ten are them are not likely to reenroll in school so they're going to commit crimes our students need meaningful change and meaningful reform in schools we talked about parents last week. we have to talk about our schooling this week and that's why in the x for boys program we have a school for our kids to have a safe haven and it is a boarding school. it is a boarding school for students stay and live there to have a place of solace and safety because right in our community we are number one, in georgia for crime and our youth make a big part of that number and i feel like it is only because our students they feel safer in gangs. they don't know thousand read and write they don't have any real structure in real king the mentorship and no king the rehabilitation programs for our children they're not learning different skill and job skill training aen how to go to college and many different things they should be knowing and that's why we created what we have in x for boying program they need meaningful changes and if we don't get meaningful change our community will going

into turmoil. >> mr. woodson where is the leadership? where is the media? i mean they cover everything, they show at events and everything they go to qeard award shows but where are they to help young people many of them look like all of us that are on this panel tonight? >> well lawrence i think you are giving leadership to that -- to that population. i just wanted to say bless you for even asking the right questions to the right people to brandon and you're asking the right questions. you're asking him about his resilience how did he achieve in face of these obstacles we can learn more by studying success achieving in trouble neighborhoods. i'm from philadelphia i went to school with cham weberlani i knw what used to be but let me share

with you some good news. that i was able to follow some grassroots leaders for three years able to dramatically transform and redeem some of the most violent young people and making them ambassadors of peace and i was able to write down what are principles that transformed and we have some models for instance, in washington, d.c., 25 years ago an area of 53 murders in a five square block area because. well a group of some men people like brandon came together and form alliance of concerned american and i trained them and they went into the community brought these just 16 kid together in my office they negotiated a truce. they went back into that community, and began to retransform and redeem it from the inside out. they began to help rebuild it and as a consequence we didn't have a single gang murder for 12 years. lawrence: wow.

>> so then we have taken that model and it is now new generation of -- of curtis monroe is out there and this past year in green way section where they have these young adults who are in character coaches to kids we didn't have a single gunfire in the greenway area of north, southeast washington, and the same is going on in milwaukee, wisconsin with andrej robinson with young adults like brandon who have been transformed and they are embedded in our schools and they circulate and kids -- lawrence: it's -- >> most violent high schools are now in most peaceful so models around that work. lawrence: mr. woodson it is so simple and pastor when men take their place in the community, things start to change. that is the secret sauce. >> absolutely. we're starting to see that with

project hood organization that we created it's all about getting those guys who are specifically in gangs off the streets getting them mentored getting them trauma counseling they need to go become to transform their families to become mentor and men they need to be because we really do believe that when e get the men on track we can get families on track and our community will be on track so it is all about reforming men and about reforming men and reforming mentality getting to them thinking they need in order to make our community the best community that can possibly be. but it starts with all out target -- trying to get all of our men on track. >> yeah. you know, gentlemen thank you so much for what y'all do. i continue do what i do without having you guys out there on the ground pushing the message. pastor brooks, king, mr. woodson thanks so much for joining us again tonight. >> god bless you lawrence. lawrence: you too liberals in mainstream media sound alarm it may be time to evacuate miami.

♪ ♪ lawrence: welcome back new develops coming out of walter burrow south carolina where alex murdaugh murdering his wife and son and from former housekeeper reveal that major concernings about family's finances due to litigation they were facing over their son's that left one person dead many 2019 joining me now mark geragos and mark perman. i want to go to you mark. what part of the investigation do you feel mark, is going to put the nail in the coffin here because i've got to tell you i was surprised by that testimony from the housekeeper. >> yeah i was too, and i was kind of surprised that the prosecution is moving to even moving away from the facts of

the case as far as the murder. i'm concerned with the time of death. now they've expanded it 61 minutes. unaccounted for which gives murdaugh a lot of time where before their timeline was just 15 or 20 minutes. and then thes gunshot residue and blood splatter analysis have fallen off a little bit from as powerful as we expected it to be. and the firearms expert was good with the casings and they matched that up but i think that's fairly easy for the defense to explain away with amount of shooting that was going on at that location for years. so i don't like that they're going towards motive instead of staying with the meat and potatoes of the homicide. >> yeah. mark geragos, defense asked for a mistrial the judge wasn't buying.

do you expect more antics like this in this trial? >> well, i probably would take issue with antickings because i think any criminal defense lawyer who has -- who is seasoned will tell you that you have to move from mistrial in certain instances otherwise you don't preserve for appellate review that's something they had have to do and i want amplify what mark said it is kind of a strange presentation by the prosecution. you know, motive is not an element of the crime. and i think one of the reasons the prosecution has shifted to motive is number one, their forensics has fallen by the wayside. mark was very kind in saying that smatter evidence has kind of i forget the word he used but the fact is that spatter of it is not there. the ballistics evidence while

the casings, i think, they did well with. i agree that defense is going to explain their way. and i'll tell you one of the things they have to address the prosecution does, is the ballistics in terms of there's a suggestion that the shooter or shooters because there's a -- there's a compelling case to be made or at least a reasonable case to be made that there was more than one shooter. and that the shooter was crouched so that's interesting to me as well. then you kind of layer over that, some of the other side show if you will that they're talking about with the motive. and the financial incentive most people think makes little or no sense and it tends to be a distraction, i think. lawrence: it's not only distraction. the son in the back of the courtroom acting crazy. giving people the hard finger i'm so glad that finally judge stepped in and there was some
