the same thing, thinking of john madden drawing on the screen with a telestrator. no more, brian. we all do it every day at home with an ipad. brian: not me. thank you very much, will. do not bring me up to 2023. that's last thing i need. meanwhile, giving a sense of what's happening here, they are -- this is their fourth super bowl in arizona. they say they expect 100,000 people here. they're past where they thought be. they're supposed to make -- the they make $730 million last time they had a super bowl back in 2017. so far between the eagles fans being insane and the kansas city fans being here in massive numbers, they'll probably pass that which just shows we're getting back to to normal. nothing's normal about rob gronkowski. even though he's in his early 30s, this guy is by far the biggest personality here. fox looks like they're going to sign him to a long-term deal. he's turned down all overtures to go back to the field. he's won four super bowls, and

i mean, i've tried multiple times. we've had salsa dancers on the fox square, we had florida, snuck off the stage. [laughter] now that he knows that dancing is actually good for athletic, good for soccer, good for football: are you now a dancer, brian? brian: i'm going to think about it. remember, rachel, i never met a dance floor that did we any good -- me any good. i did the a will cain. i went to the beach and i stared at the ocean for 20 minutes. that's all i could do, then i got bored. [laughter] i said to myself, i cannot -- i go, in life you have to figure out something you can do and i can't do, and i think i'm bailing. i don't recommend quitting, but i've quit dancing. will: you don't have to quit, brian, if you never started. brian: that's a good point. but, will, bring -- [inaudible conversations] will: yes. and while on the subject of things that brian does not do,

he does not eat on camera, which would make him an outlier for many of these nfl players who we have a little inside look at what they do to get ready for the super bowl, to get ready for the season. how they train and how they eat. this is the really pretty eye-opening. and, rachel, you and i talk a good game about watching what we eat, but look what these guys eat. lane johnson, eagles' offensive tackle, 5500 calories. it's called the monster mash diet. he weighs 330. he's got to keep the weight on throughout the season, so 5500 calories. patrick holmes, this is a core workout, right? he throws a medicine ball to keep that strength with that amazing arm he has. jalen hurts, powerful -- and this is a famous viral video of him, i think it was squatting 620, is that what it was? brian: unbelievable. will: and then chiefs' defensive tackle chris jones does yoga and

pilates. rachel: it was interesting, i read this article, and i had to agree with a lot of the stuff they're doing, but i couldn't get over the amount of food that some of these -- are they linebackers? is that right? that they have to get really big, and so, look, they brought me, i mean, this is a giant hamburger, poi we have here -- hold on, let me grab this, rice, steak, rib ares, meat. -- ribs, meat, i mean, it's a lot. and you're not here, will, pete's not here to help out, so -- but, yeah, that's a lot of calories to stay big and strong and able to make those tackles. brian: i was going to say too a lot of offensive linemen, it's the something you don't want to do, the or rachel, because they prefer to have their belly hangover their belt. [laughter] and that's the 5500 calories. i mean, literally, that's the center of gravity they want you watch these guys slim down when

rachel: montana air space was briefly shut down yesterday after a radar anomaly led u.s. officials to believe a foreign object was flying in the area. we're learning more about that object that was shot down over canada yesterday. here now with the latest, brooke singman. what do you know? >> reporter: good morning, rachel. as especiallies are rising, there were two more incidents involving foreign objects in north american air space just yesterday. the faa temporarily closing air space over montana after authorities spotted a radar anomaly over a shawl town --

small town. now, montana congressman matt rosendale tweeting that he is in direct contact with norcom and monoor thing the latest issue -- monitoring the latest issue. earlier in the day an american f-22 fighter jet shot down a different object over the yukon territory in northern canada. a senior u.s. official telling fox news early this morning that object a appears to be a small metallic balloon with a tethered payload. canada's defense minister says this object was smaller than the one shot down over the south carolina coast just last week. >> the object was flying at an altitude of approximately 40,000 feet. it had unlawfully entered canadian or air space and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian night. >> reporter: canadian prime minister justin trudeau saying he spoke with president biden and canadian forces are will

recover and analyze the wreckage of the object. u.s. officials say they first spotted the object over alaska late friday night, but president biden is ignoring questions about the incidents, watch. >> reporter: mr. president, do you know -- [inaudible] were you able to recover it yet? was it a bloorntion mr. president? >> reporter: the first chinese spy flight was shot down off the coast of south carolina last weekend, and on friday u.s. forces shot down a second object off the northern coast of alaska. but after the incident in montana last night, officials are warning that newly-heightened awareness about foreign objects in u.s. air space could lead to false positives. brian: question for you, i know it seems like ten years ago, but actually last weekend when we shot down that payload trying to pick up the bigger payload, i understand the recovery effort has been suspended? do you know why? >> reporter: brian, that's right. they're just a little delay because of weather on the coast

of south carolina. i think those will begin again once that weather passes, but we are learning a lot from the debris that u.s. officials have collected there. they said the payload is the size of a school bus, and they also said that the information they're gathering from that debris is giving them, you know, additional information about that chinese surveillance program that they were conducting in this chinese spy flight. will: all right, brooke, thank you so much for that report this morning. rachel, brian, what is going on? brian: i don't know. will: so, you know, there's a couple of options here, you just walk through this somewhat lodgey. the -- logically. the first question, are we the subject of an invasion of some kind? this seems to be, four incidences in a week's time, historically anomalous. a foreign power, most logically perhaps china, see you in a moment of weakness or compromise and say now is our time.

b, are we with shooting down objects we have nod idea what they are? that one is pretty unbelievable. i don't imagine that we would. but, c, now, is this an admission, brian, rachel, that we handled the first one wrong, the first chinese spy balloon over south carolina wrong? or did we find something already in the wreckage that is now forcing us, prodding us to shoot down anything before it even gets close? i mean, there's so many questions here based upon what is anomalous even within a week's amount of time. this is different than what happened last week with the chinese spy balloon. rachel: yeah. i mean, whoever thought this would be our news cycle, right? potentially chinese objects flying over our air space, and not only are we having to shoot them down, but they're entering our air space before we're even able to detect it. so that brings up all kinds of questions about the military. i wonder, is it the chinese working with the9 russians? we're over in ukraine right now

distracted on that front, what's going to happen here? it seems like a perfect way to distract the us. brian, the thing that concerns me is that the, you know, you're over there in arizona, beautiful place, super bowl, you know, today. this is what americans want to do the, they want to be with their families, they want to watch football, they want to enjoy their life, and they hire a president, uni, an administration, you know, the commander in chief over our military to take care of this kind of stuff and yet here we are, super bowl sunday, thinking about what's flying over -- by the way, what's happening in montana, brian, we don't even know what that was. they say it's a radar anomaly. i mean, what is that. >>? brian: yeah. i mean, i'm seeing some of the video online, not verified, just makes you wonder what happened. they shut down all flights over montana. i think we're not even to the point where we're going to generate an after-action report because we're in the middle of the action. a couple of things stand out. that is, they breached our air

space in alaska when we shot them down, so it was already in our air space. rachel: right. brian: don't you think that's a little bit of a problem? it's like an invisible fence for your dog, but he gets in the street before he gets buzzed. not good. meanwhile, we have china mocking us for our reaction to this. now, trying to make sense of this, i don't get into the mocking, but just the fact that they feel comfortable enough to say this, this is the government speaking, the joe biden administration handling of the chinese balloon case was meant to showcase the united states' strategic strength? by way with, think about that for a second, amid fears by republicans and low approval ratings of u.s. official. but instead it has shown ott the world how immature, irresponsible and, indeed, hysterical the u.s. has been. stuck in typical partisanship, orders from the white house are getting laughably juvenile. is u.s. strong or weak? it looks pretty damn tough in

the face of civilian airships and other innocuous objects. so there's a lot in there, you have to be chinese to figure it out. i will say this, if we were sending balloons over china, there'd be very little idea, very little discussion. they'd be all taken out. it took us a while to understand it was happening, if i'm to believe what we hear. four years ago this took place, three years ago this took praise. we look back at old satellite video and realize the trump administration let this happen? i'm not buying it. and the other thing i didn't have a chance to talk about, i don't know if you guys picked up on, do you remember the second object press conference when admiral kirby was out there? he's giving an update, and then somebody asked a question, could you tell us about the reports of another balloon? oh, yeah, we shot it down. we let it breach -- excuse me? you buried the lead in the middle of a press conference? that just makes people distrust, will, everything that we're

getting from the administration because, number one, they don't talk to us. trudeau called a press conference yesterday. where's the president? goes to his suv, will not even answer a question shouted from 900 feet away. -- 100 feet away. they don't tell us anything unless we find out for ourselves. i find that unacceptable and just poor leadership. will: yeah. rachel, i'll just say this, i think that that release, that statement from the chinese state-owned media, again, state-owned media, is as much of a shot as any balloon flying over our air space. that kind of statement making fun of the united states of america, in fact, perhaps, in my estimation, rachel, it needs to be looked at as a potential motive. it is to mock the united states. rachel: i think that's a great, that's an excellent point. and, brian, i agree wholeheartedly are. all the lying has to stop. already the american people have such a mistrust of all of our institutions. it used to be that we always trusted the military more than any institution, and now, you know, with all the lies about, you know, whether we, you know,

on our cable and internet. we can adjust our budget, focus on the needs and not the wants, we should be able to get through this. rachel: yeah, you know, my own family, we just took our dog to the groomer, and just a couple weeks ago we went online, bought all the tools, and my husband and son groomed skippy, you know, and that saves hundreds of dollars a year, actually. so there are little things we can do to the cut back. you say that the most important thing is not to carry on debt. so how to do you address that the debt that's dragging down so many people's finances? >> right now with the cost of inflation going up right now, rachel, to borrow more money is becoming more and more expensive, so my number one key is to stay away from debt. the same way we go into our budget and adjust for groceries, budget as well for our income as well. because money flows in two ways, it flows in and it flows out as well. so what i want us to do is start the looking at our budget, see what are some other areas we can

cut back on, but at the same time the, let's not borrow money. let's pay cash and be willing to inconvenience ourselves in certain areas so that way we can avoid debt. rachel: how important during the potentially tough recession that we're going to potentially be facing is it to have an emergency fund? we're seeing a lot of layoffs from companies and, i mean, i've talked to several family members who are worried they could be part of that layoff. >> we're seeing a lot of layoffs and also as well, rachel, we're seeing nearly 64% of people are living paycheck to paycheck, that people are five paychecks away from something detrimental happening within their lives. so maybe if you are drowning in debt right now with everything in this economy, maybe pause in paying off your debt aggressively. go ahead and put at least $1,000 inside an emergency fund because we don't know what's going to happen in the near future. and the last thing i want you to do is get that alarming report that you may be let go, but at the same time if we have an

airport -- boston the regional airport forced authorities to do a pull sweep of a spirit airlines flight bound for florida. checked baggage and the plane, didn't find anything. passengers were rescreened and the airport returned to normal business. police are still investigating where the threat came from. so who's going to win the super bowl tonight? well, the animals at blank park zoo in des moines, iowa, have predicted nine super bowl champs. they're much better than i am. this year the giraffes predict if the kansas city chiefs will be getting the super bowl ring. so did i. those giraffes will join us later this morning. that'll be a riveting interview. to either con firm firm -- confirm their prediction or change it. well, that's not confidence-inspiring. they could potentially change

>> no, i have fun. i have other people -- look, there are two security guards. it's all fun. i love super bowl week, and it's my favorite -- see that guy yelling? now, there's a guy that that's not fun. brian: he does not to the like you, and you do not like him. >> i'm banned from all nfl events. brian: tom brady is retiring, what has it done for you and your family? how are you dealing with this? >> honestly, no joke, barstool may not be where it is without brady. you know, i wish him nothing but the best. we spent so much time, so many years watching him and, like, there's so many memories that are directly tied to his games, his success, and it goes bigger than football. that's the thing about football in america. it's family, it's friends, it's where you were. i remember where i was, you know, in certain moment, games,

28-3, in jail sometimes. but it is part, 20 years of my life that that really were great. brian: very interesting. by the way, do you think this is about barstool, that siren? >> probably. [laughter] they all caught wind that we were here. ♪ brian: you mentioned before about gambling, but it's really everywhere now. the game's going to be in las vegas. what do you think that does for the game? i think you would gamble on it anyway, but what do you think it because for the game? some people get worried about it. >> yeah. those people are naive in my mind. people were gambling without it being legalized. it's better with safety. we have such stringent rules that end with, like, responsible gambling and things like that. you might as well tax it, make money on it. but you do have to be careful doing too much of the extreme stuff, but it's happening anyways. why not regulate it and make sure it's safe as possible. brian: do we have the beginning of a peyton manning-tom brady

rivalry when you look at how young and agile hurts is and how young and dynamic patrick hama holmes is. is this the beginning -- patrick mahomes? >> i don't think so. obviously, mahomes has been around for a little bit, but i think more joe burrow, josh allen, the apc's loaded, mac jones is an absolute monster. i think people are sleeping on him. there's a lot of rivalries. i don't see hurts yet, maybe down the road. brian: and the game will play out how? >> i think the chiefs find a way to win a very close game. brian: do you realize we've done two long interviews, and we're always walking. >> i don't mind the walk and talk. it's good. brian we just did it. >> total professionals. brian: we're naturals when it comes to walking. >> bigtime pros. rah. [laughter] brian: yeah. i mean, i just can't believe with the gambling, 50 million americans will be expected to

bet $16 billion and, guys, this is the first time the super bowl's played in the state where gambling is legal. so a lot of people, will, are saying to themselves i'm gambling today. in the big picture, i'm not comfortable with it. i know i'm behind the times. i just see a problem with it, and i see a scandal coming down the road somehow infecting pro sports, but the horse is out of the barn. will: well, what i appreciate -- i don't completely agree with you, but what i appreciate about that is, look, we always have to figure the unintended consequences of something. and we're so, i just think as a society and certainly as lawmakers we are so arrogant about, yeah, we'll do this and we know how it's going to play out, you know? we don't know how it's going to play out. there will be repercussions, to your point, brian. a couple quick points, the walk and talk is only impressive in its pace. it's so slow. anyone who's done that on television, you walk so

incredibly unnaturally slow -- [laughter] that it's actually distracting. [laughter] and second,s second, you know what i really liked about that interview is dave admitting, and i never thought about this, tom brady's rise and the rise of the patriots coincided with the rise of barstool, and that's a lot of tension on a start-up business. barstool works, and in my estimation, in some of the same ways that fox works. it speaks to the fan or with the fan not at the fan. brian: yeah. will: okay? i worked at big sports media companies, right, many of whom want to sermonize ott the fan. barstool represents the fan, and i think a lot of ways fox represents america in a common, blue collar, you know, middle class voice. rachel: so, brian, it looks like that bar is in oldtown scottsdale, am i right in. brian: yeah. i mean, i don't know the area, i just know it was in scottsdale. rachel: beautiful area. i'm glad you're enjoying
