6:14 am
we don't know. we have increased sightings. now we have increased sights sis over our air space and we're shooting it down. it's odd the way the entire incident, the fours incidents over the past week have played out. the biggest problem i think, rachel, it certainly -- let's assume for a minute it's a foreign power, china, let's assume for the moment like the original balloon this is china, they're not concerned. in fact, they're mocking us, rachel. instead of being concerned about the response of the united states, they're laughing at the united states. rachel: that's right. in fact, chinese people's daily which is a state owned chinese media paper, here's what their op-ed said. they said the j joe biden administration handling of the balloon case last week was meant to show case the united states' strategic strength and fierce attack by republicans in the low approval ratings of the u.s. officials but instead it has
6:15 am
shown to the world how immature and irresponsible indeed hysterical the u.s. has been in dealing with t the case, stuck n typical partisanship and political correctness, orders from the white house are getting laughably juvenile. is the u.s. strong or weak? it looks pretty damn tough in the face of balloon air ships and other innocuous objects, but in the state of the real battlefield the u.s. choice is to exhaust others. there's a lot in there by this chinese run, state run media but it clearly is a country that doesn't fear us. that's mocking us, trying to humiliate us with this and that's concerning to me. the other thing that concerns me, brian, is the fact that it entered into our air space and then it was shot down. so why aren't we catching these things before they enter into our air space? where's all our pentagon money going? i thought that we were paying
6:16 am
for national security. we want things taken care of before they enter into our air space. brian: we had no balloon strategy during the trump years. it never got up the ladder to tell the secretary of defense, the director of national intelligence, never told the president this happened if we were to believe the reports. we have a second montana official, the next one is called a navy seal, ryan zinc, said there's no reason why they couldn't have shot it of down in montana, there's nobody around montana where this thing was flying over. when the president said the pentagon told me it was too dangerous, it would hit a school. obviously you don't hit it when it would hit a school. the people of montana said why didn't you shoot it down. instead it goes over the military facilities and it gets shot down off the coast. i'm insulted the president of the united states thinks it's okay for these incidents to
6:17 am
happen and doesn't take time to answer questions from reporters who have to wait for him while justin trudeau and his secretary defensehas a press conference yesterday. for one. we've had three. he sits down with a pbs and spanish language channel and decides that's enough. i feel as though the the american people deserve more, o get all the answers from them rather than wait for a question they can't ignore or see a civilian spot something that they can't side cep so it's stey disappointing because i think we're only getting a fraction of what's going on. will: no doubt about that. and maybe the answer, brian, is because we don't have to carry if it's adversarial, a challenging interview it wouldn'twouldn't project clarite
6:18 am
american people or project strength to our adversaries. we have to get real. rachel: we had representative mace on, on the armed services committee and she said they're getting no information. it's not just that the president's not willing to sit down with the media, our leaders, our representatives in congress seem to be in the dark. the governors over which these balloons are flying over don't seem to have any information. the lack of transparency or even scare yesterday -- scarier if our government doesn't know anything that's even worse. what bothers me, they this is a weekend, people want to sit down and watch football, hang out with kids and family. we don't want to worry about objects coming from the chinese flying over our country. this is the job of the president and our military. i mean, right? brian: yeah. i would rather not. and they're mocking us. so i would love to get on top of this.
6:19 am
i just -- the excuse they said about mond montana, shutting doe air space, we followed an object but it's okay. you followed something in the sky at 60,000 feet, you couldn't identify it and you said okay, we can start flying planes again. excuse me. tell me what you saw. tell me what you used to find it. tell me why you couldn't catch it and identify it. please. just say okay, it's okay for passenger jets to start flying again in montana, to me, not a great answer. rachel: yeah. will: coming up, coaching the kelseys, the high school football coach of travis and jason kelsey joins us live ahead of tonight's first super bowl sibling rivalry. but first, the newtown, connecticut hawks little league football team is running plays on fox square along with the brooklyn united drum line who is out there keeping them entertained as we count down to
