do you expect to hear from the president today? >> i do not as of now. good morning. president biden has yet to say much about the latest objects spotted and shot down over both canadian and u.s. airspace. we've been talking about what was discovered. recovery operations are still underway. they try to determine what was shot down and where they may have come from. an object described the size of a small car was shot down off the coast of northeast alaska on friday flying 40,000 feet. rough winter -- then in the uconn territory in saturday. ab object frying at 20,000 feet was shot over lake huron. reporters tried to get president biden to comment going into church saturday evening. he ignored the questions. the white house said biden and

trudeau commended norad's strong partnership and agreed to continue close coordination to detect, track and defend our airspace. officials stress while the investigation is ongoing this incident was different from the chinese spy craft. today china is accusing the u.s. of flying similar devices offer its airspace. instantly white house officials rej rejected china's claims. >> not true. >> the u.s. is not using these balloons technology at all over china. >> that's right. we're not flying balloons over china. that is absolutely true. >> the president is not holding any public event as of right now on his schedule. a white house briefing this afternoon and john kirby the man you heard from will be at the podium as well. >> dana: that's helpful. she doesn't have to constantly refer to the defense department. he will be right there.

to putin's invasion of ukraine and now shift over china. china is not concerned about balloons. they're concerned about taiwan. >> dana: congressman mccaul agrees and what he said yesterday. >> this balloon went over three of our most sensitive nuclear sites. one in montana that runs the triad. it went over to strategic command in omaha, nebraska and finally in missouri the b2 bomber site. this was not by accident. it was by design. >> dana: so if it's by design and we haven't heard yet from the president of the united states. john kirby will join the press secretary at the briefing today. at some point doesn't the commander-in-chief has to say something we're taking hostile action against unidentified flying objects over america? >> absolutely. he needs to be truthful about it. the truth is china is poking us in the eye. the truth is we have to respond.

>> dana: fox news on hand as law enforcement captured a mexican cartel drone on the u.s. side border. the latest example of how advanced smuggling operations have come. griff is in mission, texas. these drones are kind of a weapon of war. >> they sure are, dana. good morning. as you were just seeing our live

drone over in eagle pass, texas how we capture these images and the cartels are doing this same thing. now let me show you a picture over the weekend. i was with border patrol at as they captured this drone. an expensive, high-tech drone flown on the u.s. side by a smuggler. the smuggler was able to flee across the river. law enforcement folks got the drone and start to process the footage they were getting. they were guiding an active group. take a look at this video. we were with the same group of agents as they brought the migrants the drone was being guided. you see them sitting on the side of the road. they were apprehended. mexicans and venezuelans. the smuggler got away. we're learning more about how they are waging this high-tech war if you will in the smuggling business. take a look. this isn't the first time it happened.

a near daily occurrence. this footage is from a mexican cartel drone in recent months. you can see the large group. this is how they guide these groups through. it has become a very important tool for the cartels and the smugglers comes as the biden administration is downing much of their surveillance blimp fleet cause of cost. the rgb border patrol in this sector chavez says she worries about the battle for eyes in the sky. >> that's the difference between us and the cartels and the transactional criminal organizations. they have unlimited funding. unlimited capabilities. >> the cartels are increasingly drawing teenagers into the smuggling business. tucson sector chief posting pictures of migrants smuggled by a 16 and 19-year-old u.s. citizens occurring near douglas, arizona.

so from the high-tech drones to the incorporating of u.s. citizen teenagers it is getting far worse from a smuggling standpoint despite the administration saying there was a decrease in january. >> dana: and then they'll have a criminal record and live with that the rest of their life. >> bill: a border sheriff from arizona, here with me in phoenix. you are south of here two hours. we're driving to yuma this afternoon, two hours southwest of here. we'll see it from both perspectives. i want you to listen to the arizona governor over the weekend. katie hobs talking about this matter. >> this is an issue that the can has been kicked down the roads for decades about both parties. solving the immigration crisis could help with inflation, economy. we need real solutions.

>> that interview on "fox news sunday" saying by both parties in washington. that really was not the case a few years ago, was it? >> no. we had very transparent relationship with the previous administration to include congress. i went back there several times and addressed president trump at the white house and his cabinet. we had a very transparent dialogue with them. >> bill: so i'm looking at this number here. i have not seen it before. on screen 1,578 people booked into cochise county of which 1500 were u.s. citizens committing crimes to bring migrants across the border and then to other parts of arizona. that means they are working with the cartels. >> it's sad. a story not being told is the fact that we have an open border. no matter what false scenario is coming out of washington, d.c. this is an open border through social media apps people from ages 13 to 72 have been captured in my county, former law

enforcement have come to my county to smuggle on behalf of the cartels. that many people one of our larger employers in my county. people working in my county making cash flow money. >> bill: you have 130,000 in people in cochise county, the county seat is the population of 5,000 and the cartels are the biggest employer. >> one of the biggest employers down there. 1500 people plus we arrested in our country that come to our county to committed crimes. sadly over 100 were juveniles. >> bill: last week you were in washington giving your testimony. why did they take away the blimps that seem to be so effectively and relatively speaking they were inexpensive? >> they are a tool and infrastructure of the homeland security. i asked the question. the reason they were taken away is they are looking at new technology. sadly the new technology is not in place. they are taking another infrastructure away from what we do to secure this border.

it is very frustrating. >> bill: where does it end? >> it ends sadly everybody says elections have consequences. this has to change with a new election. this president and secretary mayokas and vice president harris. they will tell you the same thing. it is not working. these communities and country, look at fentanyl and the thousands of people died over the last 24 months. migrants on u.s. soil. it is not working. it is inhumane. >> bill: i love your state and the people we've been with over the past several days are fantastic. i've been to a super bowl here years ago. i think about what they put on here last night. this country can do anything it wants. why does it not want to fix the problems that are two hours south of here? >> sadly, politics are involved. this is political ideology on the border. intellectual abandonment and

in the fourth quarter with just seconds left the game tied again at 35-35, kansas city city chiefs kicked the game-winning field goal. during yesterday's super bowl lvii it was the first time two brothers played against each other. jason kelce with the eagles and travis kelce with the chief. travis gave his brother a hug right after the game and revealed what he told him. >> there is nothing you can say to a loved one in a situation like that. you know, you joke around all the time and say you want to beat your brother in the biggest stage ever but it is a weird feeling. >> grammy award artist rihanna and said she is pregnant with her second child. you might be able to see a las vegas truck behind me. the torch is being passed from

phoenix to vegas where the super bowl will be next year. bill. >> bill: wow, that will be a party. we'll see you then, matt. nice to see you. >> dana: education crisis, stunning test scores out of baltimore something that across nearly two dozen schools not a single students was able to do grade-level math. not a single one. my next guest is a loving mother whose son attends first grade at one of those schools. tell us a little bit how you discovered this news and what you tried to do to help your son. >> we actually saw last week when it was spoke about on the news on fox. i said oh my gosh, look, our son's school was on and we sat up and watched the story and that was our first notification of how the children were testing at that school. >> dana: and you've been a

pretty proactive mom as i understand it being part of the parent/teacher organization and being there. what is going wrong? >> i know in the case with our school our son goes to the language immersion school. one of my concerns has always been questioning the model the children are learning in a different language and what i always said was key is that it is great that they are learning in another language but they also need to be proficient in english and learning everything in english. i think some of the drawback with our son's school it is so much focus on the language part and they are dropping the ball in other areas such as math. >> dana: you have other children. one went to a private school and daughter and son went to a charter high school. will you change something with your younger son? >> yes. we are looking to put him into private school as well. here in baltimore you always think you try to go with the thought that maybe a charter

school is better. and now this is the second time that we are let down. even with our oldest son, for high school he just wasn't doing the work. i actually have requested him to be held back. the response i got was socially they were concerned about the ramifications. i say you are pro promoting him and he isn't doing the work. >> dana: you have a new governor. exciting new governor in the country. listen to what he said at his inaugural. >> the state needs to strategically use its assets and resources to unlock its potential. that starts with education. we can no longer separate our vision or economic prosperity from the duty to make maryland's public schools the best in the nation. these two things are linked. >> dana: that's a lofty goal and one i know he would try to meet.

i know that you don't believe the teachers are the problem. you think it's the system. what as a parent, as a concerned citizen, who do you go to to try to fix the system? who would listen? >> i think it is about holding our administrators accountable. you have to be vocal and involved. you have to question. you have to challenge. i think that when we look at our ceo and we're seeing how much money she is making and still seeing our students are not thriving, you start to question where are the funds being allocated. where are things going wrong? how come there is not enough early intervention? when you see other counties. others are able to thrive and why is baltimore city failing continuously year-over-year? >> dana: there are very good questions. i love being in touch with you. i hope we see you again soon.

what they call not a blue collar or white collar job. you have to be proficient at certain things particularly math. and i think what is happening in these cities to be quite honest with you, is i think it's like an assault on the people that live there and on this country because we are only as strong as our weakest link. what breaks my heart these folks who live in the cities and whose kids don't get the great educations vote for the same people over and over again that have very little faith in their children with rigorous work and give them watered down work from the very beginning and it just compounds. i know new york city, for instance, what they call the achievement gap. before the pandemic for black student was at least three years behind a white student in 12th grade. four years behind an asian student. i'm scared to see what it will

be once the new numbers come out after the pandemic. here is the sad thing. i gave a speech on saturday in aruba to a brokerage firm and a lot of questions and someone got up and said it is obvious you are the only black person in the room. how can we do that? our firm we would like to hire more black people. they don't come in even for the interviews. they are intimidated because of the education they are getting. i believe the only way black kids right now can succeed in america is through charter schools and private schools and maybe catholic schools. they cannot in the current public school system right now, there is no way black people can survive. it is a crime against humanity. it is so sad that we vote for the same people who have very little opinions of us intellectually and so we will graduate from high school like the woman said not knowing anything but they will give us and promise us higher minimum

wage and public housing and more food stamps. by the way, wes moore when my son was 13 i made him read the book. the book the grew up in baltimore. he was fortunate with a wholesome family. another wes moore who didn't have a same circumstance and really was the platform that propelled him but i made my son read his book when he was 13 years old. i lived that life myself. i had the benefit of growing up on army bases the first part of my childhood until 12 and removed to harlem with no money. i've seen them both firsthand. it is heartbreaking. when i first got to harlem and i was in seventh grade i was so far ahead of these other kids. so often it would just be me and the teacher having conversations about social studies and all -- >> dana: we have to do better. >> it is not even -- this is a

airspace in eight days. the last one was shot down over luke huron in the middle of the country. did we pick it outside our airspace or had it penetrated our airspace before we shot it down? has there be a sudden surge in these balloons or have they been doing it for years? this has huge, huge, national security implications and beyond espionage. they could be testing our defenses for something much worse. if we get into a conflict with china over taiwan, they could use a balloon to send wmd over our airspace or emp weapon to take down critical infrastructure. it could be part of their strategy to deter us from defending taiwan. so this is a major, major national security story and they need to report to the american people what the hell is going on. >> bill: two things here. first from general jack keane.

>> good morning. before now all we knew about bryan coal berger's performance at the university of washington was a tough grader. "the new york times" is now reporting he was fired from that job in december not long before he was arrested and charged with the murders of those four university of idaho students. the times got a copy of the termination letter sent to coal berger saying he was being let go for failing to meet the norms of professional behavior in the way he interacted with the faculty. he reportedly had two altercations with the professor he was a t.a. for. the first one way back in september when he was still new to the university and the ph.d. program there. he was also investigated for inappropriate conduct with some female students, one alleged he followed her to her car and made her feel uncomfortable. he was cleared of any wrongdoing in that case. the university was so concerned about his behavior they had a meeting with him on november 2, '11 days later four university
