back here in the morning to share additional information. if there's any updates that we can provide. before that, we will continue to provide updates. so i take it you okay? you're listening to interim deputy chief chris rosman of the michigan state university forces. they're they're just wrapping up a news conference, giving reporters the last bit of information about the community of michigan state university, the president there as well talking about a community that is beginning to heal after well, trying to understand the senselessness of senseless violence. the gunman caught on a security camera entering a campus building took his own life at an off campus location when confronted by police, and sadly, he took three innocent lives with him and wounded five other people. um and we're told that. those
11:01 pm
five people have very serious wounds. they were in critical condition. we do know about the shooter. he is a 43 year old male. that he does not appear to have any affiliation with the michigan state university's staff. they don't know why he came to campus, and that's one of the many questions that still need to be answered at this point. they have not. i'd him at least they have not idea in publicly they do know he's a 43 year old male, not affiliated with the msu staff. we're students, but there's so many questions left to answer. the five wounded people are in critical condition. very serious wounds have life threatening injuries. we're told also that, um burki the hall that the victim that the suspect first entered. was not
11:02 pm
closed yet they do have closing hours, but the building itself it's an academic building was open and so he could come in without a door being locked. he then went to union, the student union, which is next to it. he opened fire. that building also is open to the students to the staff and to the public. it had not closed at all yet. three people were killed or two people were killed at berkey hall. one person was killed at the student union. so many more questions that need to be answered. but we do know that the gunman shot himself. when police had cornered him. and the police forces. hundreds had descended on the campus when the first calls came in about a shooter on campus, and so hundreds of police officers, the fbi 80 f, um, the local police as well. hundreds appeared on campus to search
11:03 pm
for this individual and he was cornered. and he shot himself, but he left in his wake. victims the ones who are dead, the ones who were wounded, but also the ones who are grieving right now that can't seem to understand they do not understand, and we don't understand why someone would walk into a campus and shoot people. um we just don't know. and so the there's going to be another. another news conference in the morning. we don't know what time yet, but they are now processing the locations where the shootings occurred. and we will get more information, perhaps even a motive, perhaps the idea of the shooter himself again 43 year old male. apparently not associated with the michigan state university staff or students. there is a picture of him interim berkey hall and you can see in his right hand. what appears to be a firearm being taken out is wearing a backpack
11:04 pm
. so there is speculation that did he have more firearms on him. was he planning a larger um shoot and killing more people. what is his motive as we know nothing on that line. and so those are the questions that the police are beginning to process of beginning to investigate, and hopefully we'll have more information in the morning and in the meantime , i just want to recap that shooter entered. michigan state university campus went into berkey hall, which is an academic building, shot three people there and then. union hall and shot and killed one person and then fled. michigan state university is in east lansing, the shooter, the 43 year old male was actually cornered in lansing, michigan. it's not very far, but it's not east lansing, lansing, michigan and when he was cornered. he apparently shot himself. and

learn about the chinese spy balloon from the biden administration. n from t biden admithey didn't learn about it m norat. they didn't learn about it fromr fthe department defense. they learned about it from two the first guys standing in a parking lot. the first guy i saw it with a naked eye.t took the second guy took telephoto, used a telephoto lens to take pictures that were published.cor commercial airline pilots saw it. thousandcial l maybe tens os, maybe tens of thousands of americans saw this thing with the naked eyenaked et went from one end ofi with y the country to the other. and now with the biden administration tells you todayha is this was happening during the trump administrationppeninn but apparently objects that you tould see clearly in twenty , twenty three were there in the trump years, but no one was able to see. f this i mean, it's just absurd. the logic makes no sense. none of thisup the holds up.ablh the inescapable truth is , as secretary said, this was ansn unprecedented national securityi breach and disaster. a inatit was a national security bonanza.t bonanza for the chinese comet's for the for the chinesefo communist party. and it was a disaster for our country in terms of whatnd e

will have his father around longer. >> i'm forever grateful. we continue to follow a reported shooting at michigan state university. the police just tweeted, quote, the suspect is believed to be on foot right now. ht nowe membercommunity membersf campus should continue to shelter in plac e. police are continuing t to respond. we'll continue to followhe story the story as it unfolds. but shifting gears, republicansp now arublicanse following throuh on their promise to hold big tech accountable. now, texas senator ted cruz sent a letter to social media companies, media, google, google twitter, ticktock, launching an oversight investigation into the reported use of blacklisting content from users, including many, mostlyna even conservatives in his letter. senator cruz emphasizecrd that these methods have a major impact on the , quote, reach of content and accounts and by extension, speech.
11:27 pm
>> anyway, senator cruz is with li now. would you maybe put twitter in a little bit different category now? because it looks like elon muskt is trying to clean it up and exposingwhat has what had gy on prior to him, you know, investing all this money in that company. so absolutely. elon musk's buying twitter is a dome changer because he's done something that the bigne techppw oligarchs never thought would happen, which is he's got anhien open kimono, he's exposedas exp the corruption, he's exposed the censorship, he's exposedosh the collusion with democrats in congress, the collusion with the biden white house, the collusion with the deep state at the fbi and the cia and the doj. din thi you know, in this new congress ,i am the ranking member on the senate commerce committee, the senate commerce committee has jurisdiction over about half the u.s. economu.s. y, including all of telecom and all of big tech. and so in my role as ranking member of the commerce committ i launchednvestigation a full investigation into big tech censorship, where we are
11:28 pm
going to take the twitter files. we're going to take whattake whn musk has made public and use that as a roadmap to go aftereb, facebook, to go after google, to go after youtube, to go after ticktock, to go after all of big tech that is tryinge to silence conservatives. and we are going to bringwe're accountability. we're going to bring transparency. we're going to shinegobrinwe arc and expose their collusion with democratsol and the deep ce state to try to silence conservatives. >> you have put out that seven out of 10 americans get political newsl news from sl media. what is sounding like to me, senator , is that you are demanding an audit similar did o to what elon musk did uponn purchasing twitter, which wasngh very revealing in terms of, wow, how corrupt it was, one-sid how one sided it was. and really, i think you can't monetize the impact on our beino politics that this has in terms of being an in kind donation.
11:29 pm
>> right. unquestionably, we look at in the twenty twenty election, big what wast all in trying to defeat donald trump, trying to give what was in effectef, i billions of dollars of an inf kind donation to joe biden's suppressing the hunter biden story, even though it was true suppuse it would hurt the candidate they were supporting. and i got to say, what elon musk has done is a big deal . he spent 48 billion dollarsbuy w to buy twitter, all in aid ofido free speech, and then he's exposed. last week, i spent over a halfht hour on the phone with elon talking to him about what he's finding at twitter. and using that as a roadmap. the and i got to tell you, the folks at google and youtube and facebook, facebookg and tick-tock, they are losing their minds because a member of the club wasn't supposed to admit it.as suppo they were supposed to stand loksnd lockst step arm in arm and deny, deny, deny it.no
11:30 pm
and now we have the evidence. we c have the emails. and it's clear that whenove, democrats said said to move big tech said how high they jump on command. and i got to say, it's fundamentally corrupt. i believe big techt censorship is the single greatest threat to free speech in america,t thro and it's the single greatest threat to free and fair elections. and the reason it has gonecauset on so long is because it's beene in darkness.ss objec and the objective of thistive investigatio ofn that i launched today is to bring sunlight and transparent see and to expose what they're doing and hold them accountable. lls h >> letat me ask about the threet bills that you have pu t forward as a result of this chinese spying balloon being shot down.e now, we have three other otho objectideas. y weca have no idea what they are, where they came from.from there's no transparenc, there i whatsoever. but clearly there's a vulnerability. ofis asenator , if it wasn't for
