that might be something they will be visiting. >> katie: we will be watching it. police are supposed to give us an update in the 8 a.m. hour. >> steve: let's talk about something that happened now close to two weeks ago. it was on february 3rd that there was a train derailment in east palestine, ohio. and as you know, people in that area were then evacuated because on some of those cars, a 50 car train, 10 of them had hazardous material. vinyl chloride, very toxic and so they evacuated everybody. they burned the stuff off. well now as it turns out, we are discovering that there was a lot more really scary toxic stuff on board the train that nobody knew about until after the evacuation. and now the evacuation is over, and they are saying okay, it's safe to go home. the people don't feel safe. >> katie: not only do they not

congresswoman ilhan omar came out and said east palestine road derailment will have a significant health and well-being for decades. this is almost zero national attention. we need inquiries direct action by pete buttigieg to address this tragedy. pete buttigieg last night had a tweet that's out there that says i have been addressing it. we are going to look into this. providing healthcare and have our best people on it. the people that are there in the middle of this. they don't see that interest. they certainly don't see the passion and certainly don't see mayor pete. >> steve: the problem was, mayor pete's or pothole pete as he was known when he was the mayor of south bend, indiana, his first availability to talk about it he didn't talk about it. brian, that tweet came out much later in the day, probably after some blowback. here is the first thing we heard from mayor pete regarding anything on his docket. listen to this. and see how it relates to this derailment. >> we have heard way too many

>> steve: and you know what? ilhan omar was right as well. this is going to be something that those people are going to have to worry about for years. we're going to talk to a hazmat expert coming up shortly could there be some cancer clusters in this area for years to come? what about the well water and stuff like that? so far four lawsuits have been filed against norfolk southern, the rail line one said the derailment was caused by negligence and are demanding the -- the people of that area are demanding medical monitoring because they said we were subject to all sortsd of toxic fumes. there is surveillance video. the local paper in pittsburgh the pittsburgh post gazette has video of one of the train car axles on fire 20 miles before this happened. so, the big question is whether or not the conductors could have actually stopped the train in a less populated area and they probably could have contained it. but, once again, it goes back to infrastructure and oversight.
