to fly out of washington, d.c. until the 6:00 p.m. tonight. instead, they very quietly gathered a press pool and left yesterday about 4:15. the president appeared in kyiv, not on his original itinerary. we were told he was just coming to poland to commemorate the one year anniversary of the russian invasion instead he droons into an active war zone. the "new york times" is reporting that he took an hour's long train ride from poland into the ukrainian capital that is besieged by the russians right now and while there he announced an extra half a billion dollars in new u.s. security assistance. listen. that announcement includes artillery ammunition for himars and howitzers, nor javelins, raiders, they will protect the people from aerial bombardments.

throwing people into the meat grinder, yes. they lost 200,000 men. in world war ii the russians sack i have advised 25 million. the russians 143. can you do the math. that is prohibitive, so the conflict is going to go on forever. and as long as it goes on, putin achieves his goal. his definition of victory is very dinner from ours preventing us many victory. ukraine has been disseminated. its industrial base is destroyed. its agricultural base is destroyed. it's ceasing to exist as a viable country we are providing the entire domestic product. they entirely depending on us. and right now the pentagon is

russia that russia has been using to try -- to target ukraine. as you remember, prior to february 24, last year. xi jinping and putin met and they struggled with no limits partnership, right? they are not true partners in the true sense. they are more of adversaries. but their marriage of convenience because they are both hell bent on challenging the united states. so, they are about to start providing. my intelligence and assets tells me lethal weaponry. so the major thing, the major threat that we should now be concerned about instead of hyper focusing on this conflict which the pentagon typically does, fighting the last war, we need to focus on the big picture. so, here's the biggest threat. if russia and china challenge us in the two theater war. we are going to have a really hard time prevailing. because as i said, we are

depleting our own weapons supply, military analysts are right now estimating that we're going to run out of weaponry in about one to two weeks if china invades taiwan, which the estimate right now, my own assessment is going to happen during biden's term. cia director william burns warned us that by 2027, xi already gave order to the military of china to get ready for war. xi directly said every needs to put into that war. war is something that i anticipate. >> brian: rebekah what message does it send to china if we allow russia to absorb ukraine and don't do anything? >> so, what china -- the lesson that china is learning right n now. >> brian: just answer my question. >> sure. >> brian: if we said okay, take

3:28 am
>> i think the basic attitude of many russians who i know and who i have spoken to over the last year just keep your head down and keep out of trouble. don't get thrown in jail. maybe this will go away. it's a weird system when you have one guy who controls everything. he controls the television channels. if you go out and protest you get thrown in jail or worse. so they are keeping their head down for now just trying to bear with it. >> steve, i have a quick question for you. since you are advantage point where you can look down and see the president in with your own two eyes in the square behind you. i know we got the news that the president was there at about 5:00 eastern time this morning. but, before that, i was noticing on some international twitter accounts they had pictures of the president. so did the people of ukraine know the president was there before we did? >> i think some people out on the street knew and some people certainly had suspicions when you saw the huge motorcade and also elaborate security
