trump got nato allies to participate a little bit more in the process but what is the risk for europe? >> that is a good point. the european strategy what we say buckpassing, europe has got four times the population of russia. europe 18 times the gdp of russia and the manpower decimated. they can control kyiv and the capacity of china is behind them. europe can if wants to shoulder more burden. the reason they don't do that is because one, on one hand from america doesn't want european union to be a rifle to us. europe is kind of like the biden strategy, having production and duplication of resources peer the other side is china doesn't want to do something. the western parts of europe, germany, france, belgium luxembourg don't really face a threat from russia and parts of

europe do because of the expansion of the european union, there is strategic between germany and poland for example. poland, there is a lot riding on the border. but western europe doesn't face that. so there is this problem. and we are not able to do anything. as long as america providing aid, weapons and money, and the european frontiers, they don't have too worry about anything to do anything about it. >> ashley: president biden in ukraine and chopped chinese diplomats visiting moscow. the u.s. is concerned china could send weapons and ammo to russia. we will listen to the u.s. ambassador to the united nations saying, "chinese aid to russia actually crossing the line." watch this. >> efforts by the chinese and others to provide equal support to the russians and brutal attack against ukraine, that is unacceptable. again, that would be a redline. >> ashley: you know, there is two parts to this when you hear

that sound bite crossing the redline. first off, china or russia, i don't think they care about any lines to be quite honest with you. but what happens next if they do cross this line, not only for ukraine and poland but for the rest of the world in any ukraine allies? >> absolutely. the interest of china and this content is crucial. they don't want russia to fall. one, they are robbing it and if we can take part in the regional were affecting the sides, there is no moral value. but the second point, you mentioned they want the u.s. to be down in europe. and contrary to the conventional wisdom if the u.s. involved in ukraine, biden can see the weakness. a different calculation as long as the u.s. leading in europe and supplies to the point of inflation. the u.s. with asia, the chinese can out produce that's eight

times the population of over 1 billion people. in fact, what we plan to do for russia and ukraine what china plans to do to us. and if russia, europe needs the regional war, in a region at best the interest of our american homeland, chinese will have unrivaled agenda. we need to think not from our point of what we are doing what is right for ukraine but also the interest. if we continue with europe, we are giving china a blank check to bleed us dry. >> todd: we need to remember china as the people, russia has the oil. combine those two things, that is a deadly prescription for the united states of america. just quickly on this redline come obama mentioned a redline pair that redline was crossed in oakland sequences. so you float up this redlined language and don't back up on the world stage, the next time you do it, you don't get the

disaster. he is expected to announce additional measures to the health and safety of the community and ways to hold norfolk southern accountable. several officials including ohio's governor for a press conference today 12:30 p.m. norfolk southern giving an update what it's done to address the prices. so far 15,000 pounds of contaminated soil and 1 million gallons of contaminated water have been removed from the derailment site. over 2,000 families have gotten help by the assistant center. the company has committed over $5 million to the community. while the real way company touts its efforts from ohioans are struggling to feel safe in their community. it's gotten so bad for one family that they can't make formula for their newborn baby. >> it is very concerning that we are unable to use the tap water and make baby formula to feed our child. the smell was still lingering. you catch it in bits.

of need over our own. we have to remember what a presidential visit does come it gives hope and sends a message, "we've got your back." i live in an area in new jersey, not a lot of people with big president obama fans but obama visited in santee, gave a sense of hope that the government and that someone was there for them. when the resident still can't bathe their children or feed their children with the water that they need to make the formula with with weeks after this derailment and the president visits another country, it is another punch in the gut. these folks have no hope at this point. their properties are worthless. for some of these individuals their livelihoods are gone. roofing contractor, does anybody want to put a new roof and e's palestine right now? all because of someone's mistakes mistakes and the president prioritizes another country. that can't happen. >> ashley: one more point before we go, imagine what that

at risk of losing officers in the next six weeks. so this is simply a numbers game. as patricia points out the city is growing and you have violent crime growing, you need the police force. >> todd: matt, the mayor says this is a 911 call issue. i'm not saying the 911 call issue is good. the the council member literally had 20 minute wait to phone in once she saw them streets. but the number one job is public safety and how do you let it get to this point where basically seeing what you are seeing? >> yeah, the new mayor has only been in office six weeks. and he has understood, i think, the seriousness of the challenge. he ran on hiring more police and public safety. i think he wanted to kind of maybe negotiate his own four-year contract flat stomach rather than the last person to do that. so either way, the stakes are s.

first command was cheap patrol agent in this sector. so what exactly are they up against? is it different at the southern border? >> the difference in what is happening now and what happens on the southern border, and 2005, the threats are the same and you have crime and criminals trying to enter smuggling drugs or money back across the border. so the threats are real but the same kind of threats on the northern border. but overwhelmed by the kinds of volume on the southwest border. what has happen here because the administration acceptance of policies that don't work, we have many people at the border and they know if they make a pass many of them get caught are going to be released at the border, which has told the whole world if you have enough energy to make it to the u.s. border and can get in and be released, the secretary at the department of homeland security will not be looking for you.

so the threats in that pipeline need to be concerned about peer that territory on the border is controlled by organized crime. so, the organized flow of drugs, human trafficking commit puts us at risk because we don't know who's crossing the border. the agents are overwhelmed on the southern border and now a place like this. >> ashley: it seems like up against the same problems. you still have the same policy no matter where you are in the united states. so it is a situation where you can flood them with more agents, but even now, they are having a higher, hard time hiring agents because agents range between $10,000.20000 if you finish your time for a two year time period to get that money. so what will they do? you are up against the same policies and nobody wants this job. >> yeah, it is difficult the agents and morale is all-time low, retention and recruiting are down.

so yeah, they were up against it. you have to think what happens on the border on the north and south with canada. they are completely overwhelmed. there is no end insight. the people who are responsible for leading them, the secretary and the president, have advocated for policies that make it the way it is. i would like to encourage them. i want them to be safe but they are responsible for controllinge pipeline knowing that the policymakers don't have their back. >> ashley: look at the encounters from this time last year up 846, that is a huge jump with 15 encounters and the southern border is significantly worse but now that we see it here, growing concern it will be all around the borders no matter where you put them here or do you think we will continue to see the numbers go up considering the state of the borders right now and how open they are? will this stop?

can we flood the borders with agents? >> well, they need staffing and resources to do all that, but you are right the policy is driving the southern border and northern border in this case. think about what the agents have been through, first covid and administration obviously does not have their back. the policies do not work. yes, it is likely to get work because we sent a signal around the world now is the time to come to the border. if you managed to come in and not be caught, a lot of people are being arrested claiming asylum and being released. that is what they want, and they are encouraging other people to come. this reckless policy of trying to control the border. we will do this and that but the real policy is open borders policy and the agents and the rest of the world knows organized crime is taking advantage of it. the borders on the south and north are controlled by organized crime. inside of the pipeline, threats to all of us and homeland is a

deficit on interstate, king county, specifically. they lost 33 sheriff office employees, 103 in king county metro. my question is why aren't governments just hiring back the workers fired over vaccine mandates in the first place if running into these deficits? >> it is a great question. i think, unfortunately, a lot of that comes back to pride in decision-making. we have seen some in the state king county and seattle who remove vaccine mandates. and fired workers to be able to return. what we are trying to do is show that we will welcome workers and get them back on the job to help get the core state services running. we have lost hundreds of state patrol officers embarrass workers with various systems to be on a crippled staffing shortage. it is time to get back to work. the covid pandemic is over. let's get the core services open to people across the state.

>> ashley: you talk about return pensions, anything like retro pay her back pay for what they lost out on? >> there is no retro or backpay but issues and state law against that. what it does allow its return of pension service credits. so for the time you are absent, you are able to return that service credit to your pension when retired. >> todd: do the workers want to be hired back by a state that look down on their private medical decision? >> yeah, that is a great question. we have seen mixed responses. after i introduced this bill, you heard from employees around the state. some eager to get back to work and some say, you couldn't pay me enough in the world to come back to a state that didn't appreciate the work we were doing. it has been mixed but if there are those that want to come back to work for the state, we should do everything in our power to get them back. >> ashley: what is the support looking like for your bill on bipartisan? >> we are getting growing
