to russia. amid concerns by u.s. officials that the communist country is considering providing lethal support to russia. >> we heard the secretary of state today or yesterday talking about a possible teeter that the chinese could in the future could start helping russia with lethal aid. how big of a concern is that right now? >> i think we do have concerns that china is considering providing military assistance to russia. we obviously saw russia in china announce a no holds partnership about a year ago and obviously have concerns about china continuing to bolster russia as they are continuing to prosecute this war. >> said 113 trillion it was 113 billion. biden is in poland. going to meet with the president there very shortly and provide remarks. it will be interesting to see if president biden does comment opt nuclear talk that president putin put out there today. it is certainly alarming and we

still left think that? he said we started the war and now it's a war against the west. he mocked the fact that president biden is 800 miles -- he is going to be giving the speech in warsaw that has notifying to do with america. that we should just stay out of it. and he says they overcome all the sanctions the west has put on. >> steve: putin said the united states started the war. jake sullivan said oh, really? if russia stops fighting the war in ukraine, and goes home, the war ends. it's just like that. >> ainsley: it's that simple. >> steve: it is that simple. so the president is going to be speaking within the next hour or two. generally in poland to consult with the nato allies. and much of it is to highlight the commitment that the united states made to this effort over the last year. the white house says that joe biden stands with ukraine and we know that after comments there in saint michaels square yesterday. that we stand with ukraine.

but there is no clear end game to the war in the near term and the situation is increasingly complex and, ainsley, that's to your point. if china suddenly starts giving lethal aid to ukraine. >> ainsley: to russia. >> steve: in the ukraine situation, what do we do? because that will be a disaster. >> ainsley: zelenskyy said that would start world war iii. but you have politicians here in america are saying he has to say that. that's the narrative to get us involved and get nato countries involved. >> steve: we are in. >> ainsley: our president is giving more money to poland and said he is giving half a billion dollars in aid packages. she was saying. >> steve: to ukraine. >> ainsley: 113 billion total. is he meeting -- our president is meeting with the polish president, president duda in about an hour. 11:30 he is supposed to speak. on friday will be the one year anniversaries of the start of this war. back here you have the folks in palestine, in ohio, where there

meeting about how to handle. this and now we have the train company saying they are taking up the contaminated soil and they are going to start going all in and upping the amount from 1,000 and go from there. they will be somewhat hands on. just back to your point when you said about china and what happens. china came out and they said how dare you, america, tell us what to do. we will decide who we give weapons to. and they decided if they decided to do it, they decide to do it. right now they are providing oil and they are providing parts. some of it american parts that they bought from us for electronic equipment that we are no longer selling to russia. and one of their sponsors would be if china wants to feel pain, you can hurt them nicly. so if western europe understand the threat and they say they do and the u.s. fully willing to come to grips with the threat and most people say we are, we start divesting ourselves from the chinese market as rapidly and as precipitously as possible

in order to let them know good luck selling to iran, china and some middle east countries and some undeveloped african nations. >> steve: putin actually that you could a little bit in his speech in the last couple hours where he said despite all the western sanctions our domestic output only went down 2%. so we hear all about these sanctions against russia. they did not work. ultimately what the mayor was talking about the attention of the president on palestine but also the amount of money, millions of dollars he said. the director of the german marshall fund said this is going to be a long war. and ultimately, and you hear more about this. americans are allowed to what comes next. should the united states stand with ukraine no matter how long it takes or is it in the united states' interest to go ahead and

urge the ukrainians to accept some sort of a peace deal that might not include the land that they had before? because people are worried about ultimately china's involvement, american involvement. and how much is it going to cost? that is why there is a growing number of republicans who say, you know what? i don't think this is a good idea. >> brian: he has got a window this year without an election looming. >> steve: that's a whole nother year. >> brian: well, let me finish. without an election looming, with most support in america behind it. so see the ukrainians make some progress like they did right before the winter. so, they take in 25%. ukrainians knock it down to 15% of their country and they are pushing forward. what do theyave to an advantage. more organized and motivated. >> ainsley: proven to the world. >> brian: here's the thing. you get them the weapons. not that they think they need. that they need. gave them himars. the patriots are going to be deployed soon.

ukraine. lives were lost. a year ago we were very concerned. sending money, trying to send aid without sending our people and boots on the ground. buff it has been a year. we are pouring billions of dollars in there to your point when does it end? how long do we continue to support? >> steve: what i was getting to there talking about what we know for sure we know how the american people feel. there was brand new poll that was taken by a.p. and they asked how much of auto role should the united states -- how much of a role should the united states have in the situation between russia and ukraine? january 2023. only 26% of americans say we should have a major role. 24% say no role. and 49% a minor role. today only 17% only 17% of republicans say the united states should have a major role. 28% say no role. and the rest says a minor role. you know who thinks that we should have a bigger role? democrats. 40% of democrats say a major

role and only 15% say no role at all. so, the question is, people all across america are going how long are we in this for? and what ultimately happens to our money and our people? >> ainsley: we need to have a major role down at the border. we need to be protecting our own country and spending billions of dollars on issue that. florida governor ron desantis slamming the far left movement as he visits democrat led blue cities. >> not surrender to the woke mob. something about values while you're here. >> brian: so ron desantis almost as disappointed in mayor adams because a lot of the things that ron desantis is saying mayor adams has been saying, too. he does want bail reform change. he does think crime is out of control in new york. we did lose way too many people in new york city to florida during the pandemic because the policies had nothing to do with him. so i was really disappointed. i thought it was a bad play for mayor adams to go against things he has been saying to just take a shot at governor desantis. here is what the spokesperson came back, nice rhetoric, here's the reality more americans fled new york city than any other met degree area' last year. many moved to florida than any other state. you know this mayor adams. why am i dealing with you. you agree with me why are you pretending like you don't. you talked accurately about crime pushing people out of new york city. florida's crime rate is 50 year so maybe it's you that can learn from ron desantis.

this also shows me mayor adams wants to be a national figure. >> ainsley: does he want to run down the road? why this feud? >> brian: i think if biden doesn't run for whatever reason, i think he will go in it. >> ainsley: really? >> steve: what's he going to run on? this town has turned into a toilet? we run the biggest twoilgt in america? look at me. >> ainsley: democrats still love him and vote for him. >> steve: listen, gavin newsom in the polls is very, very popular with democrats and look at california. >> steve: i get it because he is like a movie star. anyway, as i mentioned so ron desantis was here in, no. he was also down in pennsylvpennsylvaniawhere he tat about this to the crowd there. >> there shouldn't be any of these woke prosecutors getting elected anywhere in the country at this point. we have seen it. it's been an experiment. and the experiment has failed and there's a lot of people that have been victimized based on this political ideology. and, in florida, our promise to

parents if you send your kid to kids to school in florida they will get a education not a political indoctrination. what some people don't know is some of this critical theory is trying to teach kids that police officers are just out gunning down minorities with impunity. and without any basis to do it. and they are trying to create a hatred for law enforcement amongst very young and impressionable kids. so that is unacceptable. we don't put up with woke ideology. we do not surrender to the woke mob. my state. very few the numbers don't line up to what a lot of people on the left, especially the defund the cops movement want to do. and he's not only not saying that he is going the other direction. that's why he -- i think this is a brilliant idea to go to blue cities. they are all blue. and say this. >> ainsley: i have been listening to ron desantis how is he listening to questions and you realize he is tough. if eric adams is going after him, he will fight back and bring him back to reality and say, look, more people from new york moved down to florida last year than any other year in the past. he has given ron desantis, he has given -- he has hired more than 1,000 new police officers in the last six months since july of 2022. well in a six-month period i should say. he gave bonuses totaling $5 million to police officers. he is allowing parents to make decisions about what they teach their children. and there's -- it's a no tax state. >> brian: can i add one other thing? among the people that know that ron antioxidant is telling the

truth. albany county d.a. david soors, happens to be black, a democrat. the law reform reform stats are bust. governor ron desantis is saying exactly what the american people know what democrats understand but are refusing to say that we're putting criminals ahead of citizens and it's got to stop. but, i'm wondering when we are ever going to see a movement of republicans to a win mayoral races in these cities. we got them in governor raves but not going for the mayor seats. >> steve: that is ron desantis' -- the beauty of what he did yesterday. where he went to these blue cities and said, look, come to florida. we don't have the problems you have here i mentioned staten island where lee zeldin actually introduced him. it was largely law enforcement. a lot of people there according to the "new york post" said they were really ready, willing and eager to vote for him for president. they said they liked him because of his record.

in poland at this hour where he will deliver remarks very shortly, one day after a surprise visit to ukraine marking a year since russia's brutal invasion began. republican congressman and national guard colonel michael waltz sits on the armed services committee and he is sitting for us this morning. congressman, good morning to you. >> hey, good to be with you. thanks. >> steve: let's start with this headline, moscow suspending the new start nuclear weapons treaty and they say they must be ready to resume nuclear weapons testing if the united states does the same. that's not good. >> no. steve, but it's frankly one of the cards putin has left. conventional military has been disseminated. really all he has left is strategic nuclear forces. the irony with the new start treaty is that president trump

and his administration wanted to negotiate a better treaty. they were cheating on the treaty left and right and yet we had to change administration. getting nothing in return which i think was one of many things. including the lack of response to colonial pipeline, the withdrawal from afghanistan that led putin to think he could get away from w. this invasion. the bigger piece is china. china has more icbms than we do. they are looking to triple their arsenal in the next few years. so that's where my concern is. not so much russia. >> steve: russia new start treaty he is talking about suspending is the only thing we have got with them. that's the only piece of paper we have got with vladimir putin regarding this. but, regarding china, congressman, i believe one of

the china's top diplomats going to russia today after putin's big speech and they're going to be talking a little bit presumably about how can we, china, help you with your battle against ukraine? and that's not good either. >> well, no. that's right. they are already helping with nonlethal aid, with economic aid. their imports of russian oil have increased over 50%. so everything that basically europe has walked away from china and india have picked up the slack in terms of the russian economy. so much for the -- you know, the highly vaunted sanctions that putin -- i mean, excuse me that biden said would go in place on putin. you know, those things have more holes than swiss cheese. what i want to hear today in the speech, steve, that biden is going to give, couple of things.

number one, what is the policy of the united states and europe towards china? their foreign minister is in moscow right now proposing a peace deal and then what does success look like for the united states? it can't be a blank check until zelenskyy decides he wants to go to the bargaining table. >> steve: i completely agree with the last part. that's why we have called you in. because you are an expert at all of this stuff. congressman, thank you very much for joining us today. you have got something to add, go ahead. >> steve, no, very quickly, the other thing i would like to see today from bid biden, there shod be one for one contribution from the europeans. we have given over 100 billion. the next european country u.k. at 4 billion. dollar for dollar u.s. and europe going forward. they have got to carry their fair share. >> steve: indeed. all right. congressman, thank you very much for joining us. we should hear from the president very shortly. thank you, sir.

>> bret: >> brian: as fear to east palestine today locals fear for the place they call home after that toxic train derailment we are still dealing with obviously. two dads coaching basketball team have seen other teams avoid them. matt warner and john simon join us now. guy, welcome. first let's start with you, matt, what has happened since the spill to your team and to your tournaments? >> yeah, so we have had a series of events that have been canceled in east palestine. it started with the girls largely basketball game. that got canceled. and then we had j.o. volleyball tournaments which is a huge revenue builder for our district. that got canceled. and then the one that hit us the hardest for my kids. i'm a dad and i have two boys that play basketball. our youth basketball called a tournament that we were supposed to host for last weekend, saturday and sunday that was

taken from us because people didn't feel safe to come into town. >> brian: john, what happens? they don't show up and you guys don't play. you scrimmage. the air is fine for you guys. it's people on the outside who just say i don't want to take the risk. what's your message to them? >> and i think people have to put some trust in the results that are saying that the air and the drinking water is safe. and our kids go to school every day for the past week. and when our children hear that message that other teams don't want to come here and play, they start questioning the statement thing well, if it's safe for me to go to school. why can't others come here? we need people to understand that it's very important for kids to play in their hometown and when they don't get that opportunity, they wonder why and we need to message out there that the air and water is safe. >> brian: coach, are you convinced the air is safe, matt? we are seeing some stories that parents are concerned. >> yeah.

listen. we understand there is going to be concern. it's getting national headlines. all over the country. of course there is going to be concern and we don't want anybody to have that. from our standpoint, you know, i have had the e.p.a. in high house. they have tested my air. they are in our school constantly. they have air monitors set up in the school and in our gymnasium to make sure that there is anything they are going to catch it. there just hasn't been one test that's been put out there yet to suggest that it's unsafe that's what we want people to know. that he was the message we have got to get out. if you want to support us like every coach has asked that they can do. what can we do to support east palestine? here's what can you do, show up. come to our gym, can you root for your team and root for the east palestine bulldogs and help us rebuild this together. support our program. come to our town, and go back to your normal life when the game is over. but if my kids can be here and live in this district, and go to

this school every day, if they can do that, we would appreciate your support to come to our town and support your kids and their scheduled event just to get under the circumstances back to normal. >> brian: john, the other thing how this plays in a pandemic. had these kids in a crouch, run, it's scary. don't go to school. don't play outdoor sports without a mask on. don't play at all. severing canceled. nothing counts. how does this play into that mindset? >> and i think what's important with that is the kids finally started to get back to some normalcy and we had this event that happened and probably thinking to themselves are we going back to where we were? the question for east palestine is how long does this go on to where teams don't want to come to our town? baseball is going to be starting in the spring. track meets are going to be starting in the spring. and i have already heard concerns from outside communities regarding those

goes all the way through the book of feeling like you are trying to hang on to something that is not hanging on to you. of at what point are you going to reach down and grab me? >> ainsley: and you were so terrified and your dad takes you back up to your mom and talking about your cousin and if he has a girlfriend. >> this is all of these things. everybody seems completely normal while i'm thinking i'm drowning here i'm drowning here. it's such a picture of the years that would come. >> ainsley: talk about that, beth. i have heard you so many different conventions and women's retreats and done some of your bible studies you talk about you being molested as a child. >> yes. >> ainsley: you never name who it is until now. it's your father? >> yes. ainsley. and i felt like that there would probably come a time before my writing life was over or my speaking and teaching life was over that i would go a little bit deeper with the people that i have gotten to serve.

and i will tell you one reason. i think as long as abuse and assault and all the things that happen that are so harmful to victims of sexual abuse, i think as long as it's conceptual, as it's just out there in generalities for people that maybe they can't understand the full impact. that it has on a life. that maybe when you give it an address and give it a home. you give it a front door and give it curtains and you lock it in a house and understand, especially when there is a spiritual element to it, where you're abuser is using the appearance of being godly and christian and religious and this is how they are getting. just prancing up and down the aisle. you are seeing this kind of hypocrisy and it's hiding what's going on in your home. >> ainsley: a lot of these children that are abused they walk away from the church they
