hello everyone. along with nicole saphier, guy benson, and gianno caldwell. welcome to "the big saturday show". the big story tonight, president biden's possible 2024 reelection bid. first lady jill biden now says her husband is quote pretty much ready to announce his reelection campaign, watch. >> is there any reason for any of us to think he is not run
2:01 pm
running? we have heard him say several times it is his intention. >> are you not believing this? how many times as have to say it until you believe it. he says he's not done. he is not finished what he has started. and that is what is important. look at all that joe has done, has accomplished. he brought us out of the chaos. he did that. he was elected because people want steady leadership. i think they saw that intro here they saw his character. >> so all that's left at this point is to figure out time and place for the announcement? >> pretty much. >> okay still top democrats are not convinced but according to politico his top aides potential democratic presidential candidates are mulling a plan b. alright, great to be with you guys today, to see you again.
2:02 pm
i want to talk about. okay we are talking about president biden, will he or won't he announce his reelection bid? why don't we listen to what he had to say he was inside of abc news and broach the subject, let's take a listen to that. click let's put this in perspective. within two hours of derailment the epa was in there, within two hours. every major agency in the united states has anything to do with the rail and or cleanup was there and is there. in addition to that i've spoken at length to the congress persons, the governors, the centers from both states of pennsylvania and, and, in ohio. and i have made it clear to them, anything they need is available it will make it available to them. whatever happens it got to understand it's the responsibility of the railroad company. >> do you plan to travel there and have you talked with the mayor? >> i don't think i've talked to the mayor of talked with
2:03 pm
everyone else there multiple times. what has about the train accident in east palestine. he did talk about his potential presidential bid with abc news and he basically said i'm still mulling over a decision. i still have more to do i'm not quite ready to make an announcement yet. very confusing. when you hear the president and when he talks about i'm not quite ready yet but i'm thinking about and i have more to do, what do your political ears here? >> and hearing conflicting messages between his wife and him. i'm not quite sure yet but one of the lines out of what she said he hasn't finished what he started yet is terrifying to me. what did he start? a disastrous withdrawal from afghanistan that endangered the lives of many americans in afghanistan helped us for decades? what did he start a border crisis allowed 5.5 million people into our country, that we know about. not to mention those who have gotten away who brought drugs
2:04 pm
into our country to the impact for the first time our nation's history we have overwinter the thousand people overdosed from a drug, what did he start? inflation crisis he made it worse. food insecurity. joe biden has become indistinguishable from the grinch who stole christmas. in looks and policy pray do not know what to think about joe biden anymore but he needs to get on the right train because americans are not with him right now per. >> the country certainly facing a lot of problems right now. guy, you are the first lady say pretty much all this missing is the time and place of the announcement, you think she's pulling the levers behind the scenes are what you think is going on there? was she hedged on that she was not totally committal and that answer. and i agree, when you hear both biden's talking about how he needs to finish what he started almost feels like a threat based on what was seen over these last two years. when i say were not done yet, we have it finished you could make
2:05 pm
the argument that he is only through half of a term, right? they are giving themselves a little wiggle room. they cannot talk totally like the running again because that trigger certain laws. but my guess is they're either going to have to announce this pretty soon or the buzz is going to build and build in the outside contingency planning up other democrats will really start to ramp up. right now everyone is in a holding pattern waiting to see if the incumbent presidents going to run again. they keep pinching he is going too. but i think a lot of americans watch this president every day and they wonder can we really deal with this for six more years? i think a lot of democrats are not really thrilled about that prospect. >> a lot of democrats waiting in the wings to see what he does. i want to take a look at a full this is a recent poll ap let's take a look at these numbers.
2:06 pm
they are not very attractive for the president. these are democrats on whether he should run again. only 37% say yes only 62% said no. doctor sapper he just had his physicals given a clean bill of health. to be 86 at the end of a second term. what are your thoughts on that as a physician? wes you knew it. >> history tells us is likely joe biden will run for reelection it was 1876 rutherford haid's said reform can only be accomplished by president not tempted to promote reelection. he was essentially the only president who did not seek some sort form of a second term. history tells us most presidents will look for a second term. but this is different as you're pointing out. he will be 82 in this reelection happens. that already exceeds the life expectancy for a mail in the united states. while the vice president doesn't have much weight in these campaigns certainly will in this upcoming reelection campaign. and i can tell you when they're
2:07 pm
looking at this vp if history tells us anything, kamala harris did not do very wellin her own primary campaign. americans rejected her because she cannot come down hard on an opinion for anything. i will tell you, her popularity has not gotten any better over the last couple of years. in fact it's gotten worse. when people ask what does kamala harris stamper people say i have no idea because she stands for nothing and she feels that everything she's been given as a task break what you say americans rejected her, democrats reject are so overwhelmingly she did not even make it to iowa. you have to think about her look at the combination of this president in this vice president, you heard from the first light in the soundbite we played the american people have been craving steady leadership it is out the american people would describe what we've all witnessed for the last two years? i would wager most people would say no. >> open to the reduction campaign press and bite at this point is not wholly transparent. he does not give any full cognitive exam during this
2:08 pm
physical. it's really just smoke and mirrors when it comes the physical that just came out too. the constant gaffes, lessees wholly transparent about where he is mentally and physically i think americans are going to have a huge concern about reelecting an 82-year-old man with the vp they've already rejected once. >> we showed the headline from politico before. i want to show quote from that article. let's put that up on the screen it says quote his indecision about this decision has resulted in an awkward deep-freeze across the party which some potential president and scores of major donors are strategizing even developing a plan b. okay, i made a list of some potential suspects. [laughter] that gavin newsom, governor california poached. pete buttigieg you cannot leave out kamala harris you can't leave her out. phil murphy, bernie sanders, amy klobuchar, elizabeth warren and the list goes on. these folks were thinking about
2:09 pm
running, what are they doing right now behind the scenes? they can't get out there so what can i do quietly behind the scenes what you think they're doing? >> think they really are waiting just in case something happens with him for he can't run a lot of people would jump in line for sure. it's not indecision he think he really wants to rent and the reason i believe that is eight change a primary account they're attempting to change the primary account to south carolina were a lot of african-americans with the reason for him actually winning the primary like he did and that has been the case since 1980 since jesse jackson has ran for this particular time it's a wait and see. i believe he's going to run i think he already knows that he will. but as you mentioned we never know. because of his age and his cognitive ability i should say you just never known the situation. >> says he intends to run that is his intention but that is a wiggle word, right customer key could get out of that.
2:10 pm
>> is not a political statement whatsoever. this is general public saying this coming gavin newsom should he just immediately be disqualified that under his tenure that had the massive exodus of people leaving california? people do not to be in the state you run wild and wanted to run the country? obviously spent a failure at that. >> first time ever under his leadership california lost a congressional seat for a guy, real quick last five seconds rate of president biden does announces reelection bid does he keep, here's on the ticket as he traded for someone else five seconds because it works really hard to kick a person of that profile off your ticket given the identity politics streak in the democratic party peacocks aptly agree. >> we are watching and waiting president biden whenever you're ready we are ready to report it will move on now, present coming up criminals and the nations cap are stealing cars at an alarming rate. so the democrat mayor solution is a free stuff, not catching the thves. we are going to explain that when "the

solution was let's reduce the penalty for carjacking blows your mind. she suggest a few revisions they override the veto overwhelmingly including someone voted against the veto to override the veto who had at least theoretically publicly supported some of the ideas. they all decide to band together and do this. city council also passed a measure allowing noncitizens to vote in washington d.c. including illegal immigrants and foreign diplomats. basically russian spies and illegal immigrants can now vote in washington d.c. if you carjack someone you are penalties have gone down. you wonder why they're in the state they are in pretty want to encourage tourism in washington d.c. they raise the tax. this is city council she is dealing with that washingtonians are dealing with. guess what the elected these people pray. >> that is right if i would isolate even more the folks sitting on the city council passing these measures are
