he talked to ron desantis on march 9th and he urged him not to sign the bill which restricts schools from teaching gender and sexuality to children kindergarten through 3rd grade. i called desantis this morning to express our disappointment and concern. not what it sounded like, right? if the legislation becomes a law it could be used to target gay, lesbian nonbinary and transgender kids in families, he said. >> pete: if we take these accounts at their word, then he understood that disney shouldn't be weighing in on this. certainly a mischaracterized don't say gay bill which was not what it was about at all is not in step with the ethos of disney or how they viewed it. activists inside and out the company have won the day. what has been the consequences. a lot less disney and disney plus. >> griff: victory for desantis is that politicians, for whatever party you are in,

what is especially egregious about this her school actually has explicit policy saying that you cannot have secrets between teachers and students. >> pete: we're going to put up that policy because it's a very important point. the auburn school district has what's called boundary invasion issues. when you look at it, this makes a lot of sense. this is the type of thing schools should have. you can't have personal secrets with a student. you can't talk to the students about the student's personal problems to the extent that the adult becomes a confidante when it's not the adult's job to do so meaning the teacher. you can't talk to students about sexual topics not related to a specific curriculum. you can't use email, text messaging, social networking sites to discuss personal topics or interests with students. the school district seems to have the right policy the teacher doesn't like i that and you are trying to expose that exactly. we should give the school district credit for having this policy. this is anti-grooming policy.
