>> good morning, steve, ainsley, brian, the authorities say the americans were held and tortured in that red wooden shack and that man courting it has been arrested and charged in the kidnapping. he is a 24-year-old mexican national identified as jose guadalupe. you see here in the small, red shack where they were held, a rule part of eastern mexico where they believed americans ln by the cartel for haitians acting as road drug mules. they are also learning shaeed woodard and zindell brown were dead by the time they got there and latavia washington mcgee and eric james williams back in the u.s. with a gunshot wound to the leg. but his mother giving this update, she's doing okay, she was crying. she watched two of them die in

front of her. but this photo from the scene shows mcgee in the back of ambulance and williams transported back to the u.s. border and then taken to a texas hospital once in the u.s. it comes after the kidnapping and if you have not seen it, it is disturbing and caught on camera showing the moments when the victims were dragged in the back of a pickup truck. this expects with guns and bullet proof. this finances taking center stage at the white house has peter doocy pressed for answers. watch. >> cartels kill americans on the side of the border for drugs. now they are killing americans on the other side of the border with guns. why is president biden so comfortable with cartels operating so close to the u.s.? >> we are seizing fentanyl at record historical levels because of what the president has done to secure our border.

>> steve: this is one of them. >> ainsley: travel agents reporting post-pandemic and bookings are similar to pre2020 when it comes to going to booking vacations in mexico. >> brian: to me, it blows me away there is not firm reaction from the white house, from the state department. there is not a june joint statement from mexican and u.s. authorities. we are not seeing it at all and so many questions. experts say the law enforcement reveals in the dallas morning news that they believe it was a mistaken identity and that they thought perhaps the kidnappers have mistaken the foursome for haitian smugglers. the cartel disappeared five days ago as you know. but once they found them, once you make a mistake, you don't keep those survivors in a shed and watch the other two diet in front of you. so, i have problems with mistaken identity thing.

because carolina plates in a white minivan is not usually the way cartel's role or haitian drugs people roll. >> steve: apparently nobody saw it for a while because the mexican authorities, apparently, did not see this with their own two eyes. they read about it online. they went and investigated, and they saw and realized american plates on the white minivan. the story is perhaps one of these, like the golf cartel that operates in that area thought those were haitian smugglers in a similar fan. next thing you know, two of those people are dead appeared the mexicans actually use surveillance cameras in the area to figure out the number of cartel vehicles involved in the attack. ultimately, this is what it comes down to. because right now so much emphasis on trying to figure out what had happened to those poor americans in the minivan, what

do the mexicans do? suddenly, out of nowhere, they found the one guy. you know there is a whole bunch of people involved, but they got the one guy. because now that they have the americans and they will be coming back after they recuperate out of a brownsville hospital, nobody will be talking about the story. the cartel was in the clear. nonetheless, ainsley, you brought this up, a lot of people traveling to new mexico for spring break and other purposes, here is what chris olivera said earlier on "fox & friends" about whether you are thinking about doing it. essentially, don't. >> one thing we are telling people wanting to travel to mexico is to restrain from traveling to mexico. it is too dangerous. there was too much crime as far as the cartels operating and especially matamoros, mexico and the cartel that controls that area. but you have smaller groups,

smaller groups of enforcement come enforcement groups that pretty much carry out attacks here they will do kidnappings ar the cartels. within those groups, you can have several groups fighting with each other. because of that, the violence has increased in that area. you talk about that haitians, one thing there are thousands of haitians in mexico and they settle in mexico right now. those cartel groups are recruiting patients for organized crime. because of the outcome of individuals that travel are taking haitians and chased down and gunned down by these cartel members. >> ainsley: also in other news, let's go to virginia, virginia school district fairfax county, you know it well, it is always in the news. it is in the news again for something you are not going to like. what they ever learn? the eighth grade students at cooper middle school mclean, virginia, they were sent letters on february 21st home to their

parents that said if your child is considering college, we have prep courses for them here at courses where they will learn those academic counseling and experiences for teaching and completing college and scholarship applications. the senate said, it is only available for black and hispanic students. if you are asian or white, you are not to go. >> steve: brian. >> brian: this is pretty unbelievable and i know prepared about the eighth grader in if you are a minority first generation, there will be special access for you. this is also fairfax county with news, i'm stunned by this, the recipient of $1 million of grants from china. why is china giving money to fairfax county public schools? how could that be in their interest or our interest? we thought colleges was bad, they are buying up boarding

anybody in the road. what is going on? to my right is a car that a pillar under a bridge head on and when he passed the car, the airbags were out and didn't see a person so immediately i was thinking the worst. i talked to the police and we have to go save this guy. we went to the car, the car was burning on fire. my uber driver, his name is abdul. there was another group, arthur and rita were there that stopped their car. and i ran into the fire, and abdul, i was thinking for a second, this car could blow up. we are not sure what can happen with this vehicle. but my uber car driver open up the passenger drive filmic driver store to see if the passenger was okay. to see if he was alive and originally we move towards the car and affect, we didn't know

but it bust into more flames. eventually, the driver was able to muster enough of his upper body and the passenger seat to put his arms out and ask for help. that is when we went down and able to pull him out. we were still close to the car and again, we didn't know if it would blow up. i picked him up and we were able to carry him ten, 15 yards. we were able to get him out of that situation. the police came, the firefighters came and extinguished the fire and everything like that. we were able to save his life. so definitely a crazy situation. as i said, god is real and the timing because i have never have been in austin, texas, had my trainer not move down here. i missed my second uber and the second newburgh, so the timing was crazy. >> ainsley: so god had you there for a reason and i don't think that is a coincidence. so what made you get out of the

car and run over there to help him? >> you know, i kind of joke about it with other interviews i have been doing. miami for criminal justice but the secret service, fbi, i guess i always prided myself in a situation like that. that is who i have aspired to be outside of the nfl. that was kind of my first time, i would say to be thankful where i'm running up to this car on fire and i'm kind of thinking, like oh, okay, i start thinking about my family and everything. i'm risking my life here, but with arthur, and abdul, we help families and things like that, kids. so that bravery that occurs, that kind of motive me and it inspired me. football didn't matter or anything. we were trying to save a man's life. we were able to do that.
