[cheers and applause] >> trace: thank you, greg, welcome to america as late news, "fox news @ night," i'm trace gallagher in los angeles. we are following two breaking stories tonight, first to senate minority leader is hospitalized after a fall at a d.c. hotel. he was apparently going to an event there and he had some type of fault. he's been taken to a hospital, it's important because if you go back a few years he remembered that mitch mcconnell also had a fall in his home in louisville. that resulted in him injuring his shoulder and then he showed
9:01 pm
up about one year later to the senate with his hands very bruised and it is still kind of unclear as to what caused that. the condition of the minority leader remains unknown and we will keep you up to speed as the show goes on. also breaking right now, three police officers in los angeles have been shot in the line of duty after some sort of standoff with a barricaded suspect. a tactical alert has been issued to, which is another phrase for all hands on deck. this happened in lincoln heights which is near downtown los angeles, primarily an asian hispanic area. we are told they responded to a call and someone open fired and somebody involved in a standoff. the police officers were taken to usc medical center, a level 1 trauma center that's good news. we are being told that we don't know exactly what the injuries are and we are being told all three officers are expected to

survive. we'll have breaking information on that as well as the show moves on. now to our other top story on things we have never heard before about the disastrous to withdrawal of u.s. troops in afghanistan back in 2021, the emotional testimony at the house hearing from veterans who where they are. kevin corke is following the story and he is live in the d.c. newsroom. >> good evening. a harrowing tale told today on the hill and we will share part of it tonight. you know when republicans took control of the house after the midterms, they vowed they would hold the biden administration accountable. the chaotic withdrawal with u.s. forces in afghanistan after the summer of 2021. the reckoning began with the house affairs panels very first oversight hearing on what happened leading up to and after the u.s. departure from the war-torn country. hearing punctuated by emotional and graphic testimony from a marine injured in the bombing.
9:03 pm
>> then a flash end and a massive weight of pressure. thrown onto the ground but i knew instantly what happened. i opened my eyes to marines dead or unconscious around me. a crowd of hundreds immediately vanished in front of me, and my body was catastrophically wounded. >> trace: the testimony obviously emotional and at times graphic. as it intricately detailed what has obviously been seared into the memory of the man who went through it and will never fo forget. >> my abdomen had been ripped open, every exposed part of my body filled with shrapnel. i try to get up but could not. laying there for a few minutes,

rescuing people in afghanistan and ukraine and with us now, save our allies cofounder, chad robichaux. glad to have you on and we will play more of the sound bite because it's very emotional and compelling, but as i was listening to the hearing, the words i kept hearing were catastrophe, negligence, failure, disastrous. it is so for the administration. >> yes, the administration has blood on their hands. the military family, the world wants and deserves answers for the withdrawal. i hate to use the word withdrawal because it wasn't a withdrawal, it was a full syndrome under. the leadership intelligence community, they enforce the military to sell surrender to the taliban and enemies who benefited, china, iran,

pakistan, the hearings are just the beginning of what is required and we deserve an answer. >> trace: kevin corke explained the very emotional testimony and i want to play more emotional sound. but what really jumped out to me aside from the emotional was when he's talking about this and i will get your response on the other side. watch. >> in a flash, and a massive amount of pressure, i'm thrown onto the ground and i instantly knew what had happened. i opened t my eyes to marines dd or hurt around us. there is an inexcusable amount of lack of account to accountability to accountability. >> trace: two years later, two years plus later seems to be exactly what we have. >> you hear the marines speak, deployment to afghanistan, i had my son served in afghanistan, i

indicted unnecessarily. >> we have plenty of facts. at that task force formed on january 29th, 2020. dr. redfield is an accomplished physician and head of the cdc. excluded two days later when dr. anthony fauci gets an email from kristin anderson. the virus looks engineered, not consistent with evolutionary theory. he doesn't share that with dr. redfield who's on the task force and head of cdc if you're that dr. fauci wants to make sure he can control the narrative and so intent on controlling the narrative and downplaying the lab leak and focusing on the national origin theory of where the virus came from that he orchestrates a conference call and they get the story straight. the reason he did all of this is because he knew that our tax dollars went to a lab in wuhan, china, that was not up to code it, doing data function research, and you've got a deadly outbreak of a virus coming from where? wuhan, china. he doesn't want the world
