is very real. we must do more to protect our officers and communities. >> todd: brooke singman has the breaking details. >> brooke: all three l.a. police officers are in stable condition after last night's shooting following an hour's long standoff. >> this started about 3:50 this afternoon, shows a level of patience and officers trying to take their time to resolve this peacefully. behavior of this individual did not result in that. a deadly situation. we are grateful the officerslet be okay. >> brooke: the officers were shot three hours after the understand s standoff began. the officers' families are with them. none of the dogs were injured in last night's shooting. l.a. issued a tactical alert in

response. the suspect, who wassa on parole, is dead. he started firing at the officers. canine, bean bags and gas were used to detain him. the swat team broke his barricade and moved in on the suspect. the shooter was a felony drug suspect. police have not confirmed his identity. fraternal order of police reacting saying how many more of us need to be shot and die before the safety and protection of law enforcement is a priority. los angeles mayor karen bass visited the officers at the hospital last night and says all three were concerned about the well being of colleagues. >> ashley: scary, thank you. mcconnell is hospitalized after tripping and falling at a washington, d.c. hotel.

into this country to better increase the chance of the democratic party staying in control because they will say they can vote, even though they are illegal. >> ashley: i know you think that sisolution to this is shutting down the border and i don't think anybody would disagree with you. do you think it is too far gone? >> we've got a real problem. if the border was shut down today, we have an extreme problem with the illegals that are already in this country. they are a lot of criminals, child molesters, murderers. he's allowed these people to come into this country and it will take the fbi, cia, ice, everybody to shut the border and let's get deport them all.

>> ashley: nearly 6000 public schools are prohibiting teachers from telling parents which gender their kids identify as in the classroom. 168 school districts hide the gender of three million public school students across the country and it could be even more. the president of parents defending education says the list only scratches the surface of what is taking place in american schools. living in red states doesn't mean families are shielded from the issue.

things looking different in arkansas, governor sarah huckabee sanders sweeping reform bill, the learns act bans tea teaching sexual identity before fourth grade and students and children to the school of their choice by the 2025 school year. sanders tells fox it is bigger than tackling school choice, it is taking a comprehensive approach in arkansas. i am tired of seeing our state at the bottom when it comes to our performance. >> todd: pennsylvania democrats want to force parents to take educational session that teaches them about vaccines before allowing their kids to opt out of vaccines. scientifically accepted information would be presented by department of health about immunization and will need to be certified by a medical professional.

a parent from pennsylvania joins me now. democrats in your state are proposing a bill to require parents to take a class before the parents can exercise their god-given parental rights, is that correct? >> that is correct, yes. >> todd: something like that. >> i think it is an attack on parental attacks, religious freedom and attacks we are seeing in schools across the country. there is no reason that any person should have to give an explanation or attend education session to explain religious decision on behalf of their children, it is crazy. >> todd: the focus of this is covid, covid made certain parts of our society control hungry and you hate to use the word insane, but insane. why are pennsylvania democrats pushing this when we know vaccine mandates and the vaccine itself is not fully protecting

people from getting covid and kids are least vulnerable to covid? >> i think that democrats really like control. i saw that in my own local county, our democrat officials made every employee at the county get the vaccine or lose their job. there is a push right now in pennsylvania, across this country from democrats to control our children and to control the decisions we make for our children. >> todd: you heard in ashley's story and mentioned here, why are democrats in pennsylvania and nationally so committed to getting that control and trying to basically take parental power away from parents and put in the government's hands? >> i think this is how dictators in communist countriesun are, they go for children, they want to control children. if you control the next generation, then you control everything temperature is our job to be involved in our
