remember? this is not bailout. $100 billion put into a fund for a situation like this. so, now they are saying it would be bailout and i'm just trying to get my head around it. what changed in the last few hours? >> ainsley: all the banks have to contribute to this fund. there is $100 billion in the fund. >> steve: every time you have fdi insurance you put money into a fund that's where it comes from. >> ainsley: the fund will run out at some point. these banks have $250 billion they are imagine managing. >> brian: unless you are picking winners and losers. winners were yesterday and maybe the losers are today. >> steve: ultimately though, regarding barney frank, do you know who he is blaming now? he is blaming crypto currency. >> ainsley: isn't he on the board of first republic. >> steve: signature. he had been paid stock worth about $900,000 and that's how much it was worth last week. today it's probably -- you know,

probably know worthless. but it is a bailout of depositors because, usually, it only covers up to -- it's only supposed to cover up to 250,000. joe biden said, you know what? whatever you deposited, you are okay. put investors screwed. >> ainsley: grandmother and 500,000 saved for your grandkids. you lose half of that. >> brian: spread it out to different banks. >> ainsley: stephen moore made a great point. this is because of the government's out-of-control spending. if you spend too much. then you have to borrow money. the interest rates go up. listen to this. >> starts with trillions and trillions of dollars of out-of-control spending. then the government has to borrow that money to finance all these $6 trillion of additional spending biden enacted. then the next step is all this money is flowing into the economy and, as you just correctly said, that additional money caused interest rates to rise and inflation to rise. and so now the fed has to act. and it has to raise these interest rates.

to bring inflaption down. and you have seen a big increase in these interest rates over the last three years. and this has caused big problems for banks. i do think there may be other banks like i don't think we are going to see a major bank run or something like that. i think people should feel fairly secure. but there are probably other banks as you mentioned that are in this situation. >> steve: he is absolutely right. because of inflation, you know, ultimately, the federal reserve had to tighten -- had to raise rates and that's how that first bank, silicon valley bank got caught short. because they had long-term investments at very low rates. but then, suddenly, you know, t bills are 5% or something like that. people are coming in and saying hey, i want my money at like 5% or something like that. and they have got to take it out even though they are losing money on every withdrawal. and so ultimately that is what tanked that particular bank and the worry now is it will catch as we have detailed other

steve 6:17 here in the east. back with a shocking store out of houston, texas. a mother of three still unable to walk a month after that terrifying attack that was caught on surveillance at a nearby shopping center. >> brian: police are still searching for the robber who stalked the victim for 23 miles after watching her take money from an atm. >> ainsley: todd piro here with more. trying to get away there and she

couldn't. >> criminals seems like they are getting more and more brazen by the day that criminal ran off with $4,300 after that vicious broad daylight attack. this happening in early february. police say the attacker stalked the woman for 23 miles after watching her take money out of an atm. you can see he body slams her to the ground, causing a major spinal cord injury that left her unable to walk. the single mother of three now relies on a wheelchair and doctors say she only has a 50% chance of fully recovering. her daughter saying quote it's been really bad. we have to pay rent and she is the only one who can work and help us. we don't know what to do. if a miracle happens then she can walk again and her son says i can still go to school but my mind is just messed up thinking about her worrying that nobody is going to watch out for her. what makes this even more tragic. the family says she had been saving that $4,300 that was stolen to visit her family in vietnam. she hasn't seen them in nearly

41 in boston. we are expecting a changeover and 5 to 8 inches of snow. this system has not gotten its act together just yet. we are expecting winds in excess of 50 to 60 miles per hour. widespread power outages can be expected as well. especially north and west of new york city. and we could see that rain transition to snow later on today. so here's where we are expecting this powerful storm bringing rain, snow and wind. coastal flood advisories as those on shore winds will bring tremendous amount of heavy rain in towards the coast line. we could see some beach erosion. there is your power outage forecast. widespread for parts of upstate and new england. coastal flood alerts for parts of rhode island, coastal connecticut up towards new england. boston 5 to # as i mentioned. 50 to 60 mile-per-hour winds. that's going to be a big problem across the northeast. and delays and cancellations can be anticipated. also want to make mention the west coast is going to get socked again with more heavy rain and mountain snow.

occurring on the bridge. saw the masses. started sending out messages and making sure before we started sounding the alarm that this was true. and then we went downtown and we verified for ourselves. i actually started interviewing mexican people that have immigrated to the united states legally not just my parents but a lot of people that were in the vicinity and 100 percent they were against what has been going on for years and they want to put a stop to it. i also interviewed 1 legal resident that has been a legal resident for 25 years who was working on the wall. and he was making a good living for his family. and he said from one day to the next they told him we're not going to build it anymore. and he is out of a job. i asked the -- all of the people that i talked to, if you were to vote today, would you vote for biden or would you vote for trump? and let's remind everybody this is where beto o'rourke is from and the premises we are all liberal leftist but the majority

of the people. i think there was a couple people that just didn't answer. but the majority said that they wanted to vote for trump. this gentleman that has been a legal resident and is not a citizen he said he was going to start the process of becoming a citizen because he sees the urgency in voting and voting republican. >> ainsley: irene, how do you feel about this knowing your parents' story. they went through so much, i'm sure to come to america, do it the right way and then you were able to run for congress. one generation away from that. how do you feel when you see these images and you go out there amongst the people and watch what is happening? >> i'm frustrated and that's one of the reasons i actually got involved in grassroots because, growing up, my dad actually provided for our family as a construction worker. many months during the year he would have to leave el paso because illegals would come and underbid the jobs. where all those elected officials say illegals only come and take the jobs that no american wants, that is a lie. because we were without my dad

months at a time. i was 19 years old the last time he left. and the research he stopped leaving was because he got hurt so he was in disability. let me tell you really exciting story that happened about a year ago. our middle daughter graduated from her master's degree at pepperdine university. and my parents were able to attend. i asked them how do you feel about this? and my dad said 60 years ago i passed through this highway, which was a pacific highway on my way to the american dream where he picked vegetables in california and to see his granddaughter. he says i like to see my granddaughter graduating from one of the most prestigious universities in the united states. i have fulfilled the american dream. buff it was with a lot of hard sweat and tears and hard work. and that's what the american dream is about. and that's why i'm involved. we need to make sure that we preserve the american dream.
