labradore retriever. geg gutfeld's new puppy is gus, he's a french bulldog. greg is popular. >> bill: so short-haired yellow lab's reign is over? >> dana: french bulldog exclamation point in honor of greg. harris faulkner is up next, here she is. >> harris: fox news alert, stunning admission about what is happening at the wide open southern border with mexico. testimony contradicts what president biden's homeland security secretary has been saying and even testified to on capitol hill. that could be a problem. i'm harris faulkner, you're in the "faulkner focus." republican lawmakers fulfilled their promise to take their work
8:01 am
to the scene of the crisis. in mcallen, texas, the testimony from border chief as republicans search for answers and solutions. the white house accusing them of playing partisan games with the hearing. that is rich, considering democrats are playing their own. they were going. even spent our tax money on travel to get there and suddenly a political flip, they all cancelled on the border hearing. a republican spokesperson tells us the members booked travel and called a witness before backing out. here is what they missed. >> chief ortiz, does dhs have operational control of our entire border? >> no, sir. >> harris: what is it exactly the dhs secretary alejandro
8:02 am
mayorkas has been saying? not that truth. here he is last year. >> will you testify underoath, do we have operational control, yes or no? >> yes, we do. >> we have operational control at the border? >> we do. >> harris: it was bad back then, it is historically raw and dangerous now, you know it is not under control. art delqua. jacqui heinrich live for us. >> democrats pulled out from attending this hearing at the last second. a spokesperson said, extreme maga republicans should answer why they are proposing to cut border funding denying critical resources to law enforcement they claim to defend. those who attended said this was
8:03 am
hugely consequential. >> we had administration official admit to congress what we all know that the border is not secure, we don't have operational control. >> the border patrol chief told lawmakers his agents need help from washington and lack of deterrence encourage migrants to enter illegally. infrastructure is about politics and not national security. >> i do not believe in a wall from sea to shining sea, i believe in infrastructure and various systems in concentrated urban areas. we tore down in some areas that should have been left alone. >> department of homeland security defended itself saying it showed vital work that border patrol agents are doing to enforce laws and combat cartels and said chief ortiz's comments
8:04 am
highlight what investments have done for securing the border, despite the system being broken and dismantled when they inherited it. >> harris: art delqueto in focus now. art, look, it turned political pretty quickly when the democrats didn't show up. you can't quell the truth. we are hearing from the top border patrol agent and what are you learning? >> well, you know, it has been political for quite sometime. you can't help it, you have two political parties, one that cares about securing the border and the other ignores that the problem exists. by them not showing up, that is slap in the face for everyone putting their lives on the line. the problem is there, it exists and people need to know the truth. the only ones gaining from this
8:05 am
are the drug cartels and they don't care what side of the aisle anyone is standing on. they want to make money and harm american lives. >> harris: when the top border patrol agent goes on record on capitol hill with what you know to be true, we all know to be true for those that have been there and covered it, how does that change the game? you have somebody in mayorkas, who i know and you know i know from talking to people on the ground, who told me when hittians were under the bridge in eagle pass, called and said is that real or a fake picture. not only did he not want to take control of that situation, he wanted to pretent it was make believe. >> they like to focus on certain areas or what they want to do. while the 16,000 hatians were under the bridge, there were 2000 gotaways nobody was talking
8:06 am
about. that is where the problem is, i'm glad chief ortiz said what was going on and he was truthful with answers, it shouldn't take you to be in front of congress to be honest and say what is happening. you have the border patrol council telling the truth and talking about it, we don't have to take an oath or promise to tell the truth, we tell the truth because it is the right thing to do. you can't wait until something happens and say we don't have operational control or turn around and say the meaning of operational control for some may be different than to others. no, there is no difference, operational control is operational control. when you see the number of illegals, record numbers every year and drugs coming in record numbers, fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine, seeing amount of gotaways go up each and every single month and only thing going down is amount of prosecution or people getting
8:07 am
sent back, that is a problem. they lost operational control a long time ago. >> harris: we're taking a view of some gotaways, people who go around the checkpoints and go around where the cameras are. we have done everything we can even between the checkpoints to see people, we can't catch everybody. customs is tracking the gotaways, shocking numbers are popping and coming out of the hearing, let's watch. >> 385,000 gotaways this fiscal year. >> how much gotaways that you don't know about? >> in my estimation 10 to 20%. >> more? >> yes. >> harris: that is a huge number, that is first quarter of this fiscal year, on pace to exceed 600,000 in total fiscal year and 400,000 the year
8:08 am
before, that is about 1.4 million gotaways, people who are here. we don't know who they are or what they have done, entering our country since start of fiscal 2021. this is ground-shaking. we are failing in epic ways here, art. >> it is frightening. it is horrifying. the response from the agency, they know areas affect by gotaways, instead of focusing on that area, now they are sending agents to areas to process faster. they need more so they can put them in areas to process faster and those that are processing faster, all they are doing is releasing more individuals into the united states. >> harris: when the white house accuses those doing the daily job, that is what they are doing, when they call a hearing at the border a stunt, they are saying this is so unimportant, nobody should be there.
8:09 am
that is why we haven't seen the white house and other democrats. when they say that, how does that reflect on the moral of people that have to do their jobs? how does it impact it? >> the moral is low as it can be. you have agents getting assaulted and they are putting in long hours in the field at night, during the day at all times and do not feel they have backing of the agency or individuals at the white house and you can tell because every time something happens they can distort, the agents are the villain and they jump at it, at press conferences and everything else. when agents are getting attacked, they do not have a conference for that, they are always justifying the criminal's actions. >> harris: i saw a section of the video when they are jumping over and crawling through the turnstyles. if people want to get into this country the legal way and go to
8:10 am
a checkpoint, there is a line to stand in and way to behave to get in. they did not have intention of doing it the right way. they thought they would get in. you mentioned the top border chief raul ortiz, here is what he shared. in fiscal year 2023, border patrol apprehended 900,000 illegal immigrants from 150 countries. they are catching some of the people, not everybody wants to get in this way, if you are rushing and climbing, you know that is not how the line works. you have 900,000, compare that to 160,000 in 2020. those are border patrol, just three years ago the number was
8:11 am
280,000. when we say total encounters, in some places national guard, i saw them in eagle pass along the rio grande. you guys are outnumbered, sheriff departments in texas and arizona, it is all hands on deck and they are still outnumbering us. numbers are going up, they have gone up since day one and created a magnet. if you come across and ask for asylum, you will get papers and won't be sent back. when you see the amount of gotaways go up, how horrific could the criminal background be that they went the extra step. that is how horrific it is, what are their intentions and criminal backgrounds and what
8:12 am
are they going to do to our country for many future generations. >> harris: you mentioned all the assaults, they try to fight law enforcement to get away and stay here. it is getting harder and more dangerous. thank you for your service and for being in focus. art del cueto. video shows the moment a u.s. drone was hit by a russian jet. what this on-camera look will say about whether it was in10ional act by russia. and important news on a large investigation. >> that is what we're doing, following the money and the money, it appears will lead to the biden family. >> harris: he says new information points to involvement of more than half dozen biden family members now. congressman michael waltz of the great state of florida in focus next.

ships out of the black sea before the war even started because it was yet another concession and attempt at appeasement that maybe if we are not tooesque latory and nice enough, the russians will be nice back. we have seen that was a mistake. we pulled our ships and manned aircraft out, now we have unmanned aircraft in the international water and russians want to force them out, too. the response can't do nothing. we gave up the china sea under obama, now we are giving up this one. our adversaries will be on the march as long as we let them. >> harris: congressman, you hit something and i want to follow-up on it. you said there is a russian agenda to own the black sea. if it is that plain as day, why

would we remove warships? when you talk about the war in ukraine and us not wanting to take it in a place we didn't want it to go, it's been there, continues to be, not being able to defend our own assets, stop russia from doing what it is doing in ukraine? >> yeah, well, this is what is under gerting the entire biden foreign policy, if we get to the table. if we make enough concessions, if we're nice enough to our adversaries, if we cooperate on other agendas, they will reciprocate in kind. >> harris: has that happened? >> absolutely. whether iran and the nuke and china continuing to threaten taiwan more and more

aggressively and the largest land war in europe since world war ii. all these incidents and lack of response add up, whether doing nothing in response to colonial pipeline, advocating for nord stream, saying minor incursion, might be met with not that much response or downing a drone in international water, which i do believe was deliberate. they were determined to stop it one way or the other. those things send a message they can get away with it. our adversaries, north korea and isis and al qaeda reconstituting in afghanistan are watching and smell weakness in this white house and will take full advantage of it. >> harris: when you see that america is not engaging in historic ways as a global leader, i guess we shouldn't be shocked about iran's new buddy?

suspicious activity reports, like 200 of them from the bidens and their associates. james comer says more members of the biden family could be involved in overseas dealings. watch this. >> we are going to see probably six or seven biden family members involved in various business schemes around the world. this shows how deep the biden family was involved in this influence pedalling scheme, looks like people closely aligned sent three million to shell corporation and they turned around and split it three ways with a third going to the biden family. three family members for no pattern reason. >> harris: is there a problem? >> harris, i think this is the tip of the iceberg and way worse than anything we saw with the clinton foundation and that

foreign influence scheme because this is by far the most dangerous adversary in the chinese communist party we've ever faced. so many questions, why is treasury bureaucracy stonewalling congress on suspicious activity reports when it comes to the biden family. i guarantee if it was the trump family, it would have been leaked all over the media. why using shell companies, for god's sake? tax evasion or to hide what you are doing and finally, my biggest concern, is chinese communist party doesn't give hunter biden billion and a half dollars to invest in a shoestring or t-shirt factory, they want artificial intelligence, nano-technology, key technologies that their military can use and right now
8:26 am
as we speak, reporting shows that hunter is invested in a chinese nuclear company that has been trying to steal our secrets that is sanctioned. influence pedalling is one thing, if they are circumventing export control or handing off key ip, key technology that the chinese always demand through their investors, that is not only criminal, it is treasonous. >> harris: people like to say this is personal, it is about not liking hunter. who cares about hunter biden, if you youtube this person, you want to forget everything you know about him or what you have seen. vulnerability for our nation is why you have to get to the bottom of this. congressman -- >> this is not just making money for a french or brazilian firm,

changes and may be issues that need to be addressed. average americans do not understand why this is going on with minors, this is where the line is drawn. if this is adults, you wouldn't be having this conversation. these are minors. the left and those promoting this will stand up for transgender surgery and abortion, when it comes to buying alcohol, buying a firearm, driving, those things, they don't want to say the same issues they bring up with that saying they are not mature enough, yet you tell me 18 year old doesn't know how to buy a firearm, but a six year old can tell them to change their gender? americans don't get this, it is a lightning rod the left doesn't understand >> harris: marie, i'm curious why democrats don't want to
