california. good morning. >> good morning, how are you? >> steve: doing okay. this suspect assaulted this guy in the parking lot and both of them wind up in the planet fitness. what did you see and what did you do? >> i was on a stairmaster and i heard screaming behind me. i turned it off and turned around and noticed the man with a knife. i didn't immediately see the hatchet until i was approaching. he was screaming and as i was approaching, three other guys approached at the same time. we didn't really have a game plan at all, we just were going to try to help, if we could. one of the gym goers, as you see in the video, he walks by, he was trying to get on the backside of the suspect and when

the suspect sees him, he pulls off his hood and looks that way and then the victim was able to take him to the ground and we all pounced on him and disarmed him and held him down for the police. >> steve: exactly. he was yelling, i need water. what else was he saying? what was his beef? what was the matter with him? >> he yelled, respect us and mostly, give me water. the guy in the picture there on the far right of the screen was a nurse and he said he smelled methamphetamine on him. maybe the water had something to do with that, i'm not sure. >> steve: there you are minding your own business on the stairmaster and you look around and there is a guy with a knife and hatchet. what in your head says run
