and for what? what were they doing to get that kind of cash from china? i'm harris faulkner and you are in "the faulkner focus." accounts tied to the president's son, hunter biden's business partner, rob walker, showed payments of more than $1 million from their chinese business ventures, pay-outs went directly to hunter, president biden's brother james and to his daughter-in-law haley. she is the widow of biden's son, beau. and was later romantically involved with hunter. that's not really critically part of the story but just a tawdry detail. house oversight chair james comer who pushed for the information, says democrats described our subpoena as providing nothing more than records for papa john's and starbucks. they failed to mention the records we've received documenting the family's business schemes and there is a

lot more to learn. >> what we want to know is what did china get if return? i don't think china would spend this much money on this many different members of the biden family if they weren't getting a return on their investment. >> harris: here is the "new york post" front page in full snark mode you might say. biden family values. and another layer, the daily caller is reporting close ties between that chinese energy company linked to hunter and the communist party. very few businesses exist in china that the ccp isn't at least in on. in "focus" republican senator james langford. let's go to alexandria hoff first. >> republicans on the house oversight committee say they've recovered bank records from 2017 that show money from a chinese energy company flowing into the accounts of several members of the biden family. thursday memo the committee

revealed that hunter biden's associates distributed payments over 1.3 million to at least three biden family members with recipients including president biden's daughter-in-law, companies associated with hunter biden and the president's brother james as well as an unknown bank account identified as biden. in response hunter biden's legal team said the funds stopped at haley, james and hunter. hunter biden a private citizen to pursue his business endeavors sought to seek a joint venture with a legitimate energy company in china. as part of that he received his portion of good faith seed funds which he shared with his uncle james biden and haley biden who was involved with at the time and sharing expenses. house oversight committee chair james comer. >> i don't think hunter biden can to try to type of service to generate millions of dollars

from the chinese communist party but i believe his father could. when they say joe biden wasn't involved, we don't know that. we just know that joe biden met with a lot of these people that ended up going into business with hunter or ended up paying hunter, rather, and the family. >> the white house weighing in on this. after discussing attacks lamenting deceased son beau was not -- congressman comer decided to go after beau's widow. comer said the investigation will continue. we have breaking news from a short time ago. hunter biden has filed a lawsuit against the owner of the computer repair shop where his laptop was allegedly abandoned in response to a defamation suit that the shop owner had filed against biden. >> harris: a little nugget about that. we hadn't heard anything on the latest on the laptop until now. we'll see how that figures into the whole story. we want to show you something

that's breaking news. white house moments ago and the irish prime minister, today is st. patrick's day, a beautiful day in new york. they're about to kick off in seconds the parade. but he is meeting with the president and we wanted to tap into this because the white house press secretary had promised reporters that he would take questions. it wasn't a matter of, you know, maybe or he hasn't taken them like this in a long time and -- it was he will do it this time. and moments ago he didn't do a walkaway because he is sitting down but he did a turnaway because he didn't take questions and they moved right along, our president and ireland's prime minister. so no comments from the president yet on all that's popping on his family businesses with all of his relatives and china. let's move. back now to our top story. a scathing headline from the "new york post" editorial board. jim comer shows the family

business of biden is corruption. in "focus" now republican senator james langford of oklahoma, member of the finance, homeland security, intelligence and ethics committee. great to have you in "focus." first of all, i want to know what you make of some of what has come out so far about the biden family business. >> sure. james comer and the house oversight committee are doing good work being able to ask the question, follow the money. all this money came from china. all the money that came from ukraine as well. apparently hunter biden is an energy expert because everyone seems to want to hire him to deal with energy and no energy experience at all. foreign energy companies seem to want to hire him. so these millions of dollars that are now not just going to him but to other biden family members trying to figure out still who is big guy is that was referenced in previous filings and such. reasonable questions to ask. democrats saying there is

nothing to see here and move along were obsessed with pursuing the trump family and everything that happened during that time period. sudden will he they don't want to talk about anything with the biden family and what's happening. reasonable questions of oversight and the key issue is not being able to follow president biden's family. ask the basic question all these dollars coming from come knifed china, what effect does it have on the president. >> harris: one chinese business executive that stood out to me and we know that name because here on the east coast up until a year or so ago he had a beautiful sprawling mansion on long island and an expensive manhattan apartment and the company cefc china energy that he is affiliated with has ties to the ccp. i said moments ago there are very few things inside china the communist party doesn't have knowledge of or lean into. >> you are correct.

you don't have a foreign business operation without the chinese communist party being engaged in it. that's basic communism on this. we aren't used to that in america with capitalism. we have regulations that oversi the boundaries. the communist party owns everything. you don't do operations between the communist party and you don't become a millionaire without the approval of the chinese communist party. >> harris: the department of treasury for years hung onto at least 150 or 200 of what's called sars, the suspicious activity reports by hunter biden and potentially other family members. what's the significance now of getting some of that information finally handed over? >> sure, suspicious activity report is when a bank says a lot of cash came in or large deposit came in that we can't track and see what it is. just a large block that came in.

they have to report that in. it is designed to be able to chase down cartels, drug laundering, all those things. set up for that basic structure but also shows up if there is a lot of cash coming into an account and we don't know why and can't track it. those are all kept. >> harris: do most people have north of 150 of them like hunter biden? >> probably you and i don't and most people watching the program don't. whether a lot of other people do, i don't know. >> harris: you mentioned cartels. that would make sense. let's get to this topic. the white house is sticking to its story after the two major bank collapses. let's watch. >> do you believe silicon bank valley bank's failure could have been prevented? >> we saw what the trump administration did. they rolled back some of the tough requirements. the president appointed regulators over the past two years to reverse the changes that we saw in the last

administration. >> harris: more questions about the overall health of our banking system now. 11 large banks chipped in a total of $30 billion to rescue first republic bank as it was on the verge of collapse. senator langford, you pressed the treasury secretary janet yellen yesterday on what it could mean for smaller banks in the finance committee. we'll watch you and come back to you live. >> anyone with a large deposit in a community bank to say we won't make you whole but if you go to one of our preferred banks we will make you whole. >> that's certainly not something that we are encouraging. >> that's happening right now. >> that is happening because depositors are concerned about the bank failures that have happened and whether or not other banks could also failed. >> it is happening because you are fully insured no matter what the amount is if you're in a big

bank. >> harris: that sounds like they are picking favorites. >> they are certainly picking favorites. she really said if you have a relationship with the federal reserve or relationship with janet yellen or one of the preferred banks or you have a good esg score they will cover your full deposits. if you're a community bank in the country they won't cover your full deposits. she was clear about this. if we pick you, if you are one of our friends, then we will make sure you are covered no matter what the size of it is. if you are a rural bank in oklahoma, good luck. you are on your own. they are setting up a two-teared system. the same group of people who say they hate the big banks but they get strokes and campaign donations from the big banks to make sure they will protected and encourage people to move their money to big banks, a break down of the banking system. our communities banks are much

more solid than what everybody is talking about. stay engaged with community banks and have the administration stop referring to big banks that prefer them. >> harris: it sounds like collusion. >> it feels like it. you deal with silicon valley bank more than twice of size of signature bank in new york. a big bank outside of san francisco and the bank in new york. arnie frank that is chairman of the board and a lot of political engagement between the two banks and they get bailed out and other entities don't. >> harris: it is as plain as day. congress is also looking for answers on inflation, deficit spending, the national debt, more tough questions for secretary yellen. who i remember saying inflation is transitory fora year ago. >> you are here testifying about the president's budget. how much are the total deficit

over that 10-year period according to the president's budget? you don't know that off the top of your head? >> harris: hum, what do you make of this? >> what they've done is a $4.7 trillion increase in taxes and then say it is not enough. we won't be able to cover all the additional spending. to give you a side-by-side four years ago before covid our total budget was $4.4 trillion. they are recommending next year 6.8 trillion, an additional 4.7 in new taxes. it is a giant tax and spend. dramatic increase in government. this is a focus from this administration that only if you gave us more power and more tax dollars we could solve it. as bill cassidy mentioned yesterday the 4.7 trillion doesn't do anything to stable lies social security. the administration skipped that part and said we won't do any of these 4.7 trillion for social security which has insolvency in

a crisis of choice. he could have done that a year ago or two years ago. he has all the same tools, laws on the books that obama and trump did when they were in power and they secured the border. why can't he? it is a crisis of choice. >> harris: what drives that choice? >> i think it's the left wing base that has captured the democratic party. barack obama -- it is not just donald trump's border policies he reversed. it is barack obama's, obama was decried as the deporter in chief deporting 3 million people. deportations dropped to record lows under biden. doubled the number of prosecutions for illegal entry, obama did from 40,000 to 100,000 a year. biden stopped doing that. family detentions started under barack obama. he reversed that. he is reversing the obama poll seals at the border. it goes to show he could

will fly to russia next week to meet with president putin, a powerful show of support for putin as his brutal war against ukraine rages on. it will be xi's first visit to moscow since that war started more than a year ago some 388 days, i believe. you know what? moscow is getting what it wants. >> yeah. they gave these pilots an award but said it was an accidental crash. how often does the military award pilots a medal for accidentally crashing into something? it is absurd. of course it was intentional. why did russia do it? they wanted to take out the drones because they are effective in giving ukraine intelligence on russia positions but two, they want to deter us from providing more aid to ukraine. they want americans to look at this and say oh my god, we're at risk of an accidental conflict with russians. they could go to war with us and

start world war iii and want to provoke support in the u.s. to stop our help to ukraine. the russians won't go to war with us. they can't beat ukraine. they don't want a war with us. the response to this is not to kick out some diplomats or scold them but to provide ukraine with more weapons and provide ukraine with long-range missiles they need the take out russian troops 200 miles away from their position and the means to defeat russia. if we did that, this war could be over next year. if we provide the weapons biden is not providing them. everybody is worried about getting sucked into a long war. we could give them the weapons. >> harris: it could have been that way a year ago pen and a phone. quickly poland is about to do what you said, they will give them planes. we'll talk about that next time. poland will lead, not the united states. thank you. >> poland is leading the world. there you go. >> harris: whatever it takes.

missions over the last decade or so, 15 years some of us. this actually originated with adam asking steve and i if we wanted to join him to climb for fellow veterans and nonprofits that have given so much to us and our families so it was a no-brainer. when he asked the immediate thought i had was i'll do it because i want to say the names of 25 heroes at the top of that rooftop of africa. that was my motivation along with setting the example for kids and the next generation of what they can accomplish. >> harris: that's so beautiful. say their names so beautiful. we were watching exclusive video you brought us. no matter what time of the year you would climb this, adam, i would imagine the training for this had to be punishing. at the very top is snow. here is a desert terrain, difficult to do with injured limbs and so on and so forth. >> a weird environment. you start out in a tropical rain

forest above 90 degrees. at the summit it is well below 0 many times of the year. each elevation you get to a new environment and new challenges. it is a dynamic environment but excited to see it all. >> harris: i'm a child of a lieutenant colonel fighter pilot. my dad used to talk about transitions from the life that you have in the military that is so, as you beautifully put it. mission driven and coming home and being a civilian. how does doing something like this help you tap into the river of transition, it takes a lifetime sometimes. i would imagine having that focus helps. >> the focus helps. i have had a lot of success post military career because i get to continue to hang out with military veterans and groups supporting those guys. very proud to climb the mountain with these two and made it a

worthwhile experience just the company. >> harris: steven, how long did it take you to do it? >> six days to the top and two days to get to the bottom. >> harris: were you climbing for six days? what kind of breaks did you take? >> i wish i could say we were climbing all day every day. but you need to get actly cometed to you -- we do down time at the camps acclimate. >> did anybody think it was not a good idea and wanted you to stay home? >> my wife and my kids had some doubts but they kept them to themselves. for one, we were going halfway across the world to africa. for me i haven't been on that side of the world since i was deployed. so i think it brought some stuff up for my wife. but they supported me. as soon as i told her adam asked

me if i wanted to do it and they were behind me all the way. >> harris: i feel like i need an adam in my life. they both mentioned your name. what propels you to want to take people with you up mount kilimanjaro? >> at some point you need to pay it forward and give back. now i get to take these guys up on mount kilimanjaro trips and other trips. >> harris: are you doing it again? >> we'll do it again for several more years hopefully and we'll be mountain climbing, hunting, fishing, horse back riding. we try to do it all. >> harris: does everybody have to go to the top? can some of us chicken to do that get a good view if we climb halfway with your group? >> yes. well, with our group, yeah, we'll -- i would say that any time that you spend on that mountain or any other mountain

>> harris: breaking news at this hour. fox news alert. the international criminal court, icc, has just issued an arrest warrant against russian president vladimir putin for war crimes in ukraine. there is also an arrest warrant for the woman who serves as the commissioner for children's rights in the russian federation. mike tobin is live in kiev with more. mike, we knew this was coming because there have been people on the ground and you have been reporting who have been collecting evidence of war crimes and now this comes forth.

>> just a u.n. mandated inquiry by the independent international commission on inquiry on ukraine. some 16,000 children had been deported really against their will from the donbas region, and that is what the i.c.c. is really focusing on in this case. the prosecutor general of ukraine said we just got a reaction from him. he said putin should be arrested and brought to a court outside russia and world leaders should think before sitting down at the negotiating table with him. a stunning development. one ukraine would stand behind. russia, of course, is defiant as they have been throughout this process. what we have from russia so far is that they are not a member of this organization as they said and russia has no responsibility to the i.c.c. so ukraine is supported behind this decision.

tamika former obama campaign advisor and surrogate and surrogate for warren's presidential campaign. welcome to the program for the first time. mark, good to see you. let's start with where the president is tamika, in terms of answering questions about the tough times, the tough investigations going on. do you just get out there or do you stay silent? what's good strategy here? >> you know, thank you for having me. i think the present is focusing on what he is elected to do. at some point there will have to be as he gets more into the campaign and certainly with the new developments today on russia and other things he will have to take some questions. you know, he has taken questions and karine jean-pierre has pointed it out. the frustration is he is not answering as many questions as the reporters like at the time they want him to do it. >> harris: a quick follow-up

because acknowledging at least that's their job and it's also his job to be able to talk through them to the american people, if you will, through good questions. but what is it, do you think, that keeps him in those times outside of the fact that he wants to stay focused? he hasn't announced he is running yet. we have inflation and so many things. wouldn't it be part of what he would want to talk to us about? >> i think at some point he is going to have to make sure that american people through reporters, through press conferences, are hearing the things he is doing every day. focusing on inflation, making sure the banks are stable and making sure jobs are being created. he is doing the work but being able to communicate that work is very important and he will have to take some questions as we get closer to the election. right now i think what he is focused on doing the job he was elected to do. >> harris: mark, from your experience what are we wanting.

? >> turning the biden basement strategy into an art form. not talking about anything and to your point, harris, the questions that need to be answered that are being asked by reporters. he is just avoiding all of it. >> harris: look, when admiral kirby, who represents national security advisor for the white house said about a week and a half ago we're going to wait for china to tell us whether they will continue to seek apeaceful resolution between russia and ukraine, or china will put weapons on the ground to help russia fight its war that it is losing against ukraine. when the white house through kirby said that i knew that in one point we were in trouble. that meant we weren't going to get an honest answer what they do know china what do and what did china do? they are getting ready, president xi to go to russia. they'll cozy up. >> this is another case of the administration leading from behind, not showing leadership on the world stage. and it is a complete abdication
