questions here with respect to the wires. this llc had had several bank wires over a decade. we have a decades' worth of bank records and like any other bank wire, a name address and date and memo, and it would say what the bank wire was for. but they left them blank on the bidens. the white house said today that was seed capital for an investment. i don't think that's an accurate statement. we have not found where anything happened other than this chinese energy firm that was directly tied to the ccp made direct payments to the biden family. we have not seen anything where they took the money and then invested it in any business. we can't find any business. >> john: congressman, you alluded to seed money there, a statement from a hunter biden spokesperson. every right to pursue his own business endeavors seeked a

joint venture with a legitimate energy company in china. good faith seed funds, he shared with james biden and hallie biden and nobody else. you want to bring the man who was the go between on this money, rob walker, before your committee. what are you hoping to learn from him. >> we want to know what the money was for. you heard the statement, we don't find any evidence where they ever took the money and invested it in a company. people always talk about well, hunter biden had legitimate business dealings with china. what were those business dealings? all we find are payments from the ccp to shell companies and then funneled back to the biden family. we don't see any business. and what we have been told from people in the circle, the business was the bidens were basically influenced peddling, promising to help china open doors in the united states, help them navigate the bureaucracy to where they could start buying ownership into the american

energy companies and american farmland, something every american is opposed to. >> sandra: your committee is setting out to prove direct ties to joe biden. do you believe, your committee, will eventually uncover solid evidence that the president was indeed involved in hunter biden's business dealings? he has repeatedly denied so. >> well, the president said he had no knowledge of his son's business dealings. but in fact, many of these people who were responsible for sending the money from china to the shell companies were people that joe biden in fact met with. he met with while he was vice president. i don't think anyone in america would believe that joe biden did not open doors for these people, that hunter biden somehow got these business deals set up in 60-day period after joe biden left the vice president. this is something joe biden was actively involved in throughout the last year in his vice presidency. several people have come in and

say that. even some of the transfers to the robinson walker company, in 2015 and 2016, a time when joe biden was president of the united states. >> john: you and i were speak being in the green room, suggesting maybe joe biden thinking he probably was not going to run for office again, tragedy of his son dying in 2015 weighing on his heart, the family setting up business for post vice presidency. >> and that's something people have told us involved with the early dealings. most of the dealings ended up bad because the president's son got on a drug problem and a lot of things changed in his life. but during 2015 and 2016 when joe biden decided he was not going to seek the presidency, hillary clinton was running, i think just about every american thought that hillary clinton would be elected president, so at joe biden's age, the chances of him returning to public office were about 0. he was doing what a lot of

people would do. setting up the business to capitalize on the private sector. the problem is, joe biden became president and he's not been truthful with the american people. he said he didn't have any knowledge of any of this. why don't they come clean about what they were doing. and you know, the biden center for diplomacy, a lot of questions about that, primarily funded with money coming from china. there is just a lot of money that's gone from china to the biden family in various different interest and through various different llcs. that's what our investigation is about. bank records on rob walker, the first of at least a dozen trails of money that went from china to the biden family. >> sandra: hunter biden's legal team has dismissed the memo saying here we go again, as rep comer takes something old and tries to make it new but wrapping it in a wild and baseless right wing conspiracy they are calling it. what is your response to their legal team?

>> well, they have continuously changed their story. a few months ago when i announced the investigation after the house flipped, they said there was nothing to the laptop, that it was complete russian disinformation. so they have denied existence of these payments directly to the biden family all the way until the day that we actually produced bank records. i don't think the white house ever thought that i would get my hands on those bank records and i've got some bad news for the white house. this is just the beginning. and we have been meeting with people that have been blowing the whistle on this influence peddling scheme for several months now. i've been chairman of this committee for two months, had subpoena authority for two months and now you are going to start seeing information come in and i don't think it's going to be very good for the bidens. i don't think they have been truthful about this from the very beginning, and they are trying to pedal now and it's not going to work. >> john: and bill hemmer alluded to this earlier this week,

you've been looking into this for a long time and no concrete evidence of wrongdoing. do you think that will change as the investigation progresses? >> i've been chairman of this committee for two months, i know i saw somebody on fox said they have been investigating joe biden for five years. republicans have only been in charge of the house of representatives for two months. i've had the subpoena power two months. we have gotten more information in than i think anyone that conducted an investigation of biden before has ever had. they didn't have subpoena authority, they didn't have the ability to get bank records. they have talked to people, to whistleblowers, but never actual evidence. we are getting evidence in, and the president's story does not add up. and from what people tell us, there were other ways they were doing things for joe biden. every single person we have spoken with that was involved with the biden family influence peddling has said joe biden was very involved in the family business. >> sandra: follow-up, maybe a

silly question, but the fourth unknown biden family member, have you asked the bank that you subpoenaed for those records, is it possible that this went through without a full name on it? i don't think i would be able to get that done. don't you need two names on the record? >> i don't know. >> sandra: was it edited, have you asked the bank? >> we have -- we are looking into that as we speak. we are -- by staff right now examining the bank violations, a second thing treasury has been blocking us, and another evidence in this investigation. we have evidence that will allow us to get more evidence. so we have proof now because one of the things that the biden lawyers were trying to do to prevent us from having access to these bank records, saying well, this is just a goose chase, just fishing, there is no legitimate purpose for this investigation. there's a money trail from china to the bidens, and that's going to allow us to get more bank records. >> john: all right, we will see what else develops throughout the day and see you again here

the difference there. may not be criminal, there is a difference, and i think this is what james comer and his team at the oversight committee are looking at is introducing new legislation that strengthens those disclosure laws to force the immediate family members of, you know, executives, politicians, political leaders, to disclose that they have been paid money from overseas entities. i think that would be very helpful. so whether it's criminal or corrupt or whatever, will come out in the wash. but at the moment, that was a very interesting interview with james comer where he said that they have numerous witnesses who point to the direct involvement of joe biden and he said the president's story just doesn't add up. >> john: you said we didn't know if it's criminal or not, time

charged a second man with the murder of a former microsoft executive. mario fernandez, police have yet to release a motive for the ambush. christina coleman is watching the case unfold. what more can you tell us about the suspect, christina? >> 34-year-old mario fernandez saldanas was arrested in orlando, multiple charges, including murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the horrific crime. a judge signed an arrest warrant for him shortly after the accused shooter in the case pleaded guilty to shooting bridegan. they say he provided evidence corroborating the role in the planning and execution of bridegan. authorities say he was a former

tenant, and wrote three checks. and they believed saldanas called him dozens of times before and after bridegan was killed. and his wife, shana gardner, is the ex-wife of bridegan. they had a bitter custody battle. the former microsoft executive and father of four was executed after he dropped off two of his kids at his ex-wife's house, as he was driving home, he came across a tire lying in the middle of the road. police believe it was purposely placed there to make him stop. when he got out of his vehicle to move it, police say he was ambushed. they say he was gunned down in cold blood while his 2-year-old daughter from his second marriage sat in the back seat of the car. saldanas is now behind bars in orange county, florida awaiting extradition to jacksonville.
