here. if i'm still, small business owners are looking for shelter. do u.s. treasuries still provide a safe cover? >> arthel they really do. i want to just be clear for you and for all of you guys wat watching. u.s. treasuries are deafly a safe bet that we have been advising our clients for a while now to try to sweep as much cash that you have into u.s. treasury securities. obviously the back by the federal government for their pen four -- 5% interest rates. there is a bad story because of silicon valley bank miss management misjudge the use of u.s. treasuries. if you could put money away and keep it out of your needs, you're not going to need it for six months or a year while you are investing, to me it's a great return on your money particularly the higher inflation world. so to answer your question, yes u.s. treasuries are every bit as good as they've always been. arthel: this is for small businesses and individual

depositors. our accounts at or under two or $50000 protected? >> under two or $50000 are protected. but let's remember, even if you have six accounts at one bank the total of all of those accounts determines whether or not you were over 250,000. it's not on account account level, okay? if you are a small business or even individually the lesson from silicon valley bank, arthel, you have to diversify. no longer do you have to bank he was just one bank but here's some business owners and i feel bad for them their money is at risk because they had all of their money the silicon valley bank. don't do that. you need to have your money spread out among multiple banks. most of my clients do that. it's not as difficult to do nowadays you cannot expect the government is going to come back and bail out every single bank like potentially there will be doing the silicon valley bank to

diversify your money please whether you are an individual or a business owner. divide our cds a safe investment? look super safe investment just be aware that if you have a cd with your bank they are subject to the same 250,000-dollar limit of insurance the fdic will have. and you know what i did? i work with the nonprofit we have a bunch of money we invest and we are looking to protect and lower the exposure. a lot of people are in that situation. so our bank acts as a trustee. they invest our money and like 10 different cds at 10 different banks. all of them are under $250,000. so therefore you can take advantage of the cd that is there but you can spread the risk among 10 different banks. just member a cd which you your money into it is not liquid. getting the money out is very, very difficult for her just like treasuries which is why silicon valley bank made their mistake.

when you sell treasuries before they auteur they are worth less and a higher interest rate world and they really paid the price for. but finally, higher interest rates are good for cds but what about for your business? >> not great, arthel. [laughter] the prime rate is between seven and 8% at most banks because interest rates have gone up. you talk about recession and slowed out in the economy, arthel i am seeing so many clients established businesses struggle with new loans they would to refinance, they want to buy equipment they want to get more working capitol loans. there than at seven, eight, 10% interest rates now to do that. for many it is just too expensive for the small businesses to do so they're holding back. so the sending with individuals were at higher rates are not great for small businesses right now. it's a story of the year for small interest rates around 2023. arthel: other regulations limiting this year.
