tv   The Ingraham Angle  FOX News  March 21, 2023 7:00pm-8:00pm PDT

7:00 pm
>> sean: programming note. doing a live audience show tomorrow and thursday. if you want to be a part of the show, just go to hannity.com for information. you get free tickets. shark tank host kevin o'leary, mike pence, they will be joining us in studio this week. we hope you join us. time for laura. let not your heart be troubled. i was two second late. >> laura: hannity, the question is will pence take a shot at trump on your show? that would be epic move. right? desantis has -- >> sean: hits been outspoken against bragg. >> laura: yeah, but you know. they're all coming -- look, it's going to be a free for all. everybody will have to get used to taking hits from the other guys. >> sean: hits and elbows and hud butts. >> laura: thanks, sean.
7:01 pm
i'm laura ingraham. this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. thanks for joining us. the big dei calm. that's the focus of tonight's angle. a few weeks ago, americans that thought conservatives were exaggerating when they spoke of the poisonous atmosphere on college campuses, they were finally given a clear glimpse into the twisted mind of today's radical leftists. people like stanford's diversity equity associate dean. >> your opinions from the bench land as absolute disenfranchisement of their rights. it's uncomfortable to say for many people here, your work has caused harm. has caused harm. i know that must be incomfortable to here. >> laura: don't you love it when they snap now? my time judge kyle duncan tried
7:02 pm
to talk, the invited guest, people began screaming and pounding on tables making it impossible for him to speak. they didn't want to hear what he had to say. they wanted to make an example of him. it was a warning for other conservatives that might think of coming to campus. don't bother. the university's response was quite pathetic. they apologized for the disruption and didn't punish the entitled brats or miss angry pants who had a hand in stoking the outbust, this is because to the establishment and academia, business and entertainment, diversity, inc., is untouchable. it part of the cost of doing business. dei compliance does not come cheap. steinbeck is bringing in a six-figure salary. the maximum salary for he position is 201,200.
7:03 pm
that's more than most post doctorial candidates make. >> how is this her job? >> my job is making space for people longing in this institution. this is part of the creation of belonging. many people in this administration, too, absolutely do believe in free speech. >> laura: that's a lie. it doesn't add value. everything she said was false. the judge could not give his speech. stanford is ranked as the third best university in the united states. its tuition just wentz up by 7%. to 82,406 a year. now, they've been exposed but their story is repeated across america in most academic and professional settings today. diversity, inc., is a network of mostly untalented people that figured out a way to make big bucks from a weak-kneed business
7:04 pm
community and the school administrators. all told, they spend billions annually to measure and grow their diversity, equity and inclusion compliance and train their employees in so-called dei speak. workshops include ridiculous cartoonish presentations and when i say cartoonish, i mean it. >> let's talk about tips on implementing cultural diversity in the workplace. the most important piece to cultural diversity, it widens your talent pool. >> come to think of it is alex a boy or girl? >> actually, alex does not define as boy or girl. >> here hay couple of examples of what respectfully calling out sounds like. i need you to stop right there. that goes against our values. it sound like you're making some assumptions that are not supported by experience or fact. >> they tell us that all men are created equal despite what is
7:05 pm
actually reinforced by everyday interactions like the classic example of a white woman who guards her purse in the elevator when a black man enters. >> laura: okay. they accuse others of stereotyping? the white woman in the elevator with the black guy? everyone knows what this is. it's woke gibberish. but man, is it lucrative. check out what we found online. snap chat is looking for a senior dei manager. the pay is $205,000 to $295,000 a year. for a dei specialist, you can make up to $173,000. oh, and this a good one. u.c. berkeley needs an assistant vice chancellor and chief of staff of equity and inclusion. for this, you can make up to
7:06 pm
$279,400 per year. the best part, you can work from home for two days every week. so even with the economic downturn, it seems like this is a growth industry in the united states. this is when we might want to ask, what do most firefighters in richmond, virginia make or young nurses or doctors in the bay area? you know, people that actually perform a vital public service? not as much as the dei experts. i can tell you that. they're much more important. so how does one get a piece of the diversity and equity action? well, you just need to get your dei certification. it's fast, and it's easy. hundreds of colleges offered many dei degrees. take, for example, the university of south florida's college of business. for only $99 in 14 hours and online indoctrination -- i meant
7:07 pm
video instruction, you too can get your dei certificate. >> we want to welcome you to this great diversity equity in the workplace class. >> participants learn how to create details planned that focus on change and required to pass a quiz at the end of each module. >> laura: oh, a quiz. sounds rigorous. when you graduate in dei, you'll get a diploma stamped with the dei version of the good housekeeping seal of approval. isn't that cool? employees that get their dei certificates while in the workplace may also get special consideration by their bosses. or just get the satisfaction that they have proven the old adage true, that there's a sucker born every minute. of course, america's new-found obsession with dei is an affront to the principal of equality that we once held dear. that all men are created equal.
7:08 pm
yet dei institutionalizes bias the thought that all minorities think one way or nonminorities have privileged. by falling into the dei trap, just like the esg trap, america also risks precipitous decline. doctor adrian wooldridge said that countries that value talent will trounce those that don't. further that this will have terrible consequences for the united states' geo political standing. >> the biggest and most serious challenge to western dominance that we've seen ever, which is coming from china, china is becoming more like singapore and taking ameriticrocy much more seriously with their education
7:09 pm
system. the way the communist party operates, the way america is becoming less enthuse attic ab about, that presents the possibility of a future in which china really pulls ahead of the united states. >> dr. wooldridge makes an excellent point. the sats and acts are being made optional creating a new woke plutocracy of woke goof balls. how does that make for a stronger, better america? >> i think that means that america loses and china wins. that's not something i want to see. >> laura: neither do i. so the great push back against all of this must begin. the dei experiment has already failed. look at biden's cabinet. it's first after first. but failure after failure.
7:10 pm
so we have to go back to the basics. study hard, real standards, great books, dump the victim studies and gender-bending nonsense. equal opportunity for all. equal treatment for all. educational choice for all students across america. breaking the backs of the teacher's unions which are choking off real educational standards. of course color-blind admissions everywhere. take economic disadvantage in to account where appropriate. then it's time to go beat china. that's the angle. joining me now is charlie kirk, found earn and ceo of turning point u.s.a. and xavier duroso, a former blm activist. xavier, you said that dei eliminates standards for excellence and it's for everyone across the board. explain. >> it does. you would think that it would be common sense that when you lower the standards of excellence, it's not going to benefit
7:11 pm
anybody. why would anyone strive to be the best when your success is predetermined by your demographic? when i look at diversity, equity and inclusion, it's a sham. it's a racist joke because it tells black people and minorities that our skin color is a handicap and we need to depend on them to hold white people out of the way in order for us to be successful. >> laura: charlie, at the white house today, karine jean-pierre, the press secretary, made it clear what the administration has its eye on. it's not the ball. watch. >> when he came in to office, he talked about the different crises that this country is dealing with and one of them was racial equity. he signed an executive order that made sure that across the government that political appointees in those agencies put that equality lens as they were moving forward with dealing with policy. >> charlie, you think china's
7:12 pm
obsessed with proportional representation in the work force or going for the most talent people in the most important positions? >> the whole country is a college campus. that's something that you'd say at stanford. okay. fine. you say it to a freshman class. we signed an equity guidance. you can see it in the hall. she's running the government. she's a spokesperson for running the government. that's one of the things we have to realize. they're fringe and awful and spread to society. what happens on these college campuses doesn't stay there it goes in the hall of congress and every sphere of cultural influence. i think of the french revolution. the maoists, the dei infantry are all throughout the bureaucracy to implement this anti-racist regime. you look at the list of how much money they're making. you did a wonderful job of
7:13 pm
summarizing that. this is the new gold rush. in 30, 40 years, we'll be looking back in 1849, they went to dig gold in california. in 2023, people studied anti-racism to get rich. >> laura: xavier, when you think about the fraud that took place during the covid gold rush, of all the money being poured out there by the federal government, all the scams that were pulled, this is kind of like the same thing on a different issue. they know corporate america is cowed by this, running scared. they know academia is filled with leftists, this is sweet honey pot for people that rush in and say we're victims and how much are you going to pay me? what are you going to give me? they're taking advantage of the moment. >> yeah, honestly amazes me how they continue to find ways to monetize victim mentality. if you look at what dei is, it's a fancy way to say anti-white.
7:14 pm
if things don't change and people keep getting kicked out of multicultural centers or stop getting jobs of their skin color, white people will have to have their own civil rights movement. things are too woke and toxic all across this board. >> laura: charlie, xavier, good to see you both. thank you. speaking of the dei madness, the concept offers a window to why many republican voters feel like their elected leaders just despise them. take the case of north carolina congressman and chair of the house financial services committee. his name is patrick mchenry. in january he announced six subcommittees, five of which identified as a top priority the following. best practices in policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion. in their respective industries? how is that a priority for republican voter? mchenry's story doesn't end
7:15 pm
there. as chair of the finance services committee, he also leads the investigation into two of the biggest bank failures in u.s. history. one of them signature bank. mchenry was chummy with the bank that seemed more concerned with its annual social impact report than its performance. in fact, just days before the collapse, mchenry was at the bank's new york city head quarters. he's there for a fund raiser. he received thousands of dollars from bank execs. joining me now, ned ryan, ceo of american majority. mchenry says he returned the money and his office told us when he appears at fund raisers like this, it's they who are endorsing him, not the other way around. your thoughts on him and this. >> well, laura, i guess i want to know, forget the recent fund raiser. is he going to return the nearly $190,000 that he received from signature employees since 2017?
7:16 pm
that's the real question. he can return this. he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. is he going to return every dime. i'm waiting to see if that hans. i'm starting to think maybe it's time that the congressmen that are in charge of committees, charged with oversight shouldn't receive campaign contributions from the sectors they're supposed to provide oversight for. might cause a conflict of interest. this is a microcosm of the uni party in d.c. patrick mchenry becomes committee claire and he's has five subcommittees and now they have as a main emphasis diversionty and inclusion. it shows that republicans are gutless cowards and afraid too fight this agenda, which is the rebranding of socialism or they don't have a problem with it. in this whole situation, laura, as we have seen the collapsed --
7:17 pm
some of the biggest collapses of banks in our history with signature and svb, republicans in charge, i thought they would leave behind these childish games of dni and do the people's business and provide pe form for banking and monetary policy. that's what honest adults do. instead, we have patrick mchenry -- i'm reminded of book that was written in the 50s. trust communists to be communist. right now we can write a book in which we can say trust most d.c. republicans to be democrats. >> laura: net, this is so disturbing. what he has done. and what he represents. which as you said, this is what the gop -- establishment does. this is what the gop old guard does. they all have to be cleaned out of washington. they don't represent the people. we know that. it's time for -- >> sean: and they loathe and despise us. >> laura: they despise the people but want to convince
7:18 pm
everybody at election time that they're conservative. they're not conservaconservativ. thanks, ned. ron desantis offers his most full-throated response to former president trump's many slams. charlie hurt is here to tell us about the timing of this, plus congressman james comer wants answers from the d.a., mr. bragg. bragg has responded. congressman comer reacts next. for back pain, i've always been a take two and call in the morning guy. but my new doctor recommended salonpas. without another pill upsetting my stomach, i get powerful, effective and safe relief. salonpas. it's good medicine.
7:19 pm
7:20 pm
7:21 pm
7:22 pm
7:23 pm
>> laura: top house republicans demanded that alvin bragg testify before congress about what seems to be a politically motivated decision to indict former president donald trump. a spokesperson for bragg's office told fox news digital that we will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, for will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law. with me now, kentucky congressman and chair of the house oversight committee, james comer. congressman, i want to play some criticism of the move. >> i don't see any good faith reason here to subpoena and question alvin bragg. >> alvin bragg is a state
7:24 pm
prosecutor. nobody in congress can do diddly-squat to him. >> it's a silly stunt by people who don't know how to do their jobs. >> laura: your response that this is basically out of your jurisdiction, congressman. >> not true. no district attorney has the authority to prosecute federal election laws. bragg doesn't decide whether or not he can go before congress. when he grossly overstepped two levels of government, he authority the authority of the u.s. house of representatives committee of oversight. congress has legislative purview. federal election laws are written by congress, not by the manhattan district attorney. so we absolutely have the authority to call in mr. bragg to find out why he's overstepping his authority by two entire levels of government. >> laura: what is your theory on
7:25 pm
this? i floated a theory last night that he wants to run for governor. usually there's a political motivation when it comes to these types of radical actions against someone like a former president of the united states. etch "the new york times" is questioning the move here. >> yeah, this is a political stunt. this getting him all types of earned media from the left that will help him win a primary. the old mindset in new york is if you were a democrat, you won the primary, you were a shoe-in. what we saw in the mid-terms, voters turned their backs on the democrat party for one reason and one reason only. it's because of crime. this is a d.a. that represents one of the highest crime rates in america. instead of prosecuting criminals, he's trying to prosecute a presidential candidate is based on u.s. federal election law. this is a publicity stunt by
7:26 pm
mr. bragg. we'll give him and opportunity to come before congress to explain himself. >> laura: i want to pivot to the current president who by all arrest counts seems to be complicit in actual criminal activity. he's denying it. >> [question inaudible] >> it's not true. >> laura: congressman, tonight your demanding that biden correct what you're saying is his dishonest denial about making money off of china through his son. tell us more about the steps you're taking. >> where are the fact checkers on this? we provided the bank records, over a million dollars, to at least three and possibly four. one of the bank wires just said
7:27 pm
biden on it. we haven't figured out who that person is. three of his family members received over a million dollars from the e. coli -- chinese communist party. biden has lied for it. we want him to apologize for his lie and my goodness, where is the media to fact check this guy? we provided bank records. they can't say it's russian disinformation anymore. they can't say the laptop was hijacked. we're past that. this is actual subpoenaed bank records. la laura, there's more to come. >> laura: parentsly they will only believe the charges if they come from michael cohen. until michael cohen confirms it, it's not real. thanks. it doesn't take a genius to realize these pathetic maneuvers by bragg will strengthen trump's
7:28 pm
hand. ron desantis delivered his strongest response yet to trump's attacks in a new piers morgan interview. watch this. >> what is your favorite nickname yet? >> i don't know how to spell desanctimonious. i don't know what it means. it's long. has a lot of vowels. we'll go with that. that's fine. you can call me whatever you want. just as long as you call me a winner. >> laura: joining me now, charlie hurt, opinion editor of the washington times. desantis is laughing off the trump attacks as trump is dominating the news cycle. what do you sense about this timing and is that the right move with the economy imploding under biden that this is where we are in the debate? >> i think you're right. the timing is the biggest question here. and i kind of had the same thought that you did, which is
7:29 pm
that maybe ron desantis is looking around and seeing that this thing might be getting away from him. it is a risk for him. of course, what we see with donald trump facing this ridiculous kangaroo prosecution about federal charges that have absolutely nothing to do with politics out of the manhattan district attorney's office is garnering a lot of support for -- and reminding republicans that love him or hate him, trump is a guy that is -- has been persecuted by the political set and he's been persecuted because they fear him. they fear the change that he represents and they fear him as an outsider. that outsider is donald trump's greatest strength. it's very curious to me that ron desantis picked right now to do this. i'm can't help but think that they aren't seeing some sort of
7:30 pm
internal numbers. he's been very quiet. he hasn't responded. i must say for all of the nicknames donald trump has handed out, i liked desantis' response to ron desanctimonious the best. that's probably the best way to handle a trump insult, is to sort of appreciate it. because you're not going to be able to out-trump trump when it comes to those kind of insults. >> laura: a morning consult poll conducted last week shows trump ahead by 28 points. this is before he's even indicted. >> tucker: right. >> laura: a number of polls that show trump ahead. but again, it's the battleground states that count, it's the electoral college that counts. the polls are pointless at this point, i guess. still, they're a snapshot. >> and we got caught up with ron desantis because he's well-known in political circumstances and in florida. outside of florida, he's really not all that well-none.
7:31 pm
donald trump is far better known. the trajectory of the race right now, the primary right now, it's still very much in donald trump's favor. >> laura: well, we'll be watching this. the number 1 issue is the economy for this country. both of them have to hit biden on the economy hard. thanks, charlie. last year "the ingraham angle" investigated the growing chinese influence over marijuana farms inside the united states. since then, it's only gotten worse. we'll bring you the update and speak with someone on the front lines of this national security threat. stay there. the future is here. we've been creating it for more than 100 years, putting the most advanced technology into people's hands. generation after generation. tool after tool. again and again. bringing you the broadest and most reliable network of service dealers.

7:36 pm
>> laura: chinese nationals have began buying up tens of thousands of acres in oklahoma. according to the statement from the oklahoma bureau of narcotics, eventually they become commercial marijuana growing operations. the state saw the biggest drug
7:37 pm
bust this past february where chinese nationals were among those arrested. that was the investigation in how china was unfiltrating oklahoma farm land. now politco caught up publishing a piece entitled the growing chinese investment inillegal weed. >> oklahoma voters passed medical marriage in 2018. since then grow farms have exploded. half of the farms got their licenses through fraud. >> 3,000 farms right now, 2/3s are asian investors and tied to criminal organizations out of asia, primarily china.
7:38 pm
>> laura: mark, thanks for being with us tonight. now, these chinese criminal organizations, they're not just funding these elicit drug grows, but all of the violence that comes along with it. >> that's correct. we've identified a number of homicides here in oklahoma including a high profile quadruple homicide. ketamine trafficking and other drugs, extortion, arson. a lot of criminal elements that follow these black marketeers that moved to oklahoma the last couple years. >> has your office been able to trace where the money comes from to fund these foreign nationals engaging in this activity? >> in some cases, it's
7:39 pm
difficult. our other investigations have been successful in identifying wire transfers that have gone to mexico and wired back to china. some going to china as well as large cash transactions being shipped around the united states. we can trace back to a chinese run at criminal organizations, running a farm here in oklahoma. so certainly there's been opportunities to be able to follow some money that is a result of these black market marijuana growers. >> laura: the interesting thing here is that china has an official position about marijuana, the ccp saying that well, the marijuana purpose legalization push in the us hurts china. they come out against it. do you have any doubt that if stuff is coming out of china to invest in the united states, the government knows what is happening and endorses it? >> absolutely. we know the criminal organizations operate thering the united states, whether they're tied to chinese money
7:40 pm
laundering organizations, mexican drug cartels, organized crime from bulgaria, armenia and russia that we traced to oklahoma farms, there is some awareness by these organizations and the people back home orchestrating where the money goes, moving the workers and moving the plants, moving the profits for these organization. >> laura: destroying america with fentanyl and with this push as well. mark, thank you. we're glad that oklahoma defeated that recreational marijuana referendum vote just recently. happy about that. now, i want to go on a journey. i'm going to take you with me. imagine if the joker and the riddler held a meeting saying they were going to do everything possible to hurt gotham city? the mayor responded that why the riddler is one of the worst
7:41 pm
people on earth, they can form a partnership from the joker. that's pretty much the world we live in now. russia and china together are two mortal enemies. we're now in a proxy war against russia when we enrich and suck up to kline that is sending ammo and drones to the country that we're in a proxy war with, russia. this makes no sense. kind of like john kirby's response to the question of whether the russia-china issue means it's a budding alliance. >> i wouldn't go so far to call it an alliance. i call it a marriage of convenience. that's what i think it is. president xi, president putin see as potential backer here. he needs help from president xi and that's what this visit is all about. >> laura: here now, eldridge colby, author of the book "the strategy of denial." eldridge, i laughed out loud when john kirby said after a
7:42 pm
five-hour meeting with xi and putin and now putin is traveling to see xi. i mean, this is a long distance relationship but it's very close, this is not an alliance? >> well, in some ways, laura, it may be better than our own alliances where our allies don't pull their weight. by any historical standard, this is absolutely an alliance. i don't know what it means to dismiss it as a marriage of convenience. the chinese are propping up the russian commit. they associated themselves with the r. position on the ukraine conflict. we see the russians moving towards more reliance on the yuwan. there's a close personal relationship between xi jinping and vladimir putin. look at the body language. it's clear. look at the fact that this is xi jinping's first foreign visit since covid and he invites
7:43 pm
vladimir putin to visit him. we're dealing with probably the closest signed of a russian relationship back to the 1950s and maybe even beyond that. >> laura: the balance of power geo politically does what? when our economy continues to go down the tubes under biden and these two are teaming up? >> it's a massive danger. i think it's a real indictment of american state craft. we're marking about the 20th anniversary of the iraq war, this is the kind of thorn -- sort of the result of the foreign policy that the iraq war resented and produced. it's like a truism of what you want to avoid in american foreign policy, china and russia going back together. we saw it divide them. these are the two massive land powers. china is an economy of our own size. russia is a dangerous country. now they're basically in the position in which the chinese are clearly preparing to use military action, we don't know
7:44 pm
what they're doing but talking openly about it and at the same time, putin distracts us. a lot of republicans are saying we have to defeat russia in order to focus on china. i think that's a delusion. the reality the chinese are helping to prop up the russians to distract the americans in europe that is playing into their strategy. one of two things happens for the chinese in this sort of approach. one is either the americans continue to get bogged down in europe and play along as you've seen from kirby and others. the other is there's a settle meant that the chinese are the critical pathway, the critical broker and then they have driven a wedge between us and the europeans. so i really -- it's astounding that we reached this result. there's a lot of high fiving the last year. we can see this is going very poorly for us. >> laura: now honduras says they're going to cut off diplomatic ties with taiwan. another sign that our own hemisphere is moving towards china and away from us. unbelievable. nice job, biden.

>> laura: when you think of the runways in paris, fashion week, you think of my next guest. joining us now is angle fashion correspondent and fox news contributor, jimmy failla. you are known for your flashy outfits? especially your shirts. it's a western kind of urban cowboy thing. i know you want to talk about that other fashion statement of the hippy class, which are the birkenstocks, all right? "the new york times" is writing that its natural jimmy for suede to darken over time and discoloration is expected as foot beds pick up oil from your bare feet and dirt from your surroundings. if your foot beds smell, you can clean them, jimmy. so this is what the times is
7:51 pm
writing about. putin and xi together but this is what they're writing about. >> the whole time you're reading this article, you're like this is disgusting. why did they do this? then you realize some weirdo editor at the times has a foot fetish, laura. the article -- think about it. the article contains a photo of this girl's dirty foot next to the birkenstock, which means some creep just saved himself a loot of money on a trip by green lighting this disgusting piece. gross. >> sean: have you ever owned a pair of birkenstocks? >> no. even though i dress like i'm an overweight foreign figure skater, doesn't mean i walk in their footwear. >> laura: what is worse? crocs or birkenstocks? if you had to choose one to wear all day long, which would it be? which would you say no to?
7:52 pm
>> i'd take the crocs but i'd wear a matching bag over my head so nobody knew it was me. >> laura: nasty. that's all i can say. next up is fashion trend inspired by a children's show. watch this. >> look! what's that? >> it was a pair of boots. >> boots? >> laura: oh, my good. thank goodness my children never watched this. for $2,500 you can have the teletubby neon boots. what do you think? >> i'm not surprised there's a market for this. the teletubbys came out 20 years ago. all the kids that watched them are old enough to smoke pot. there's no reason to think this makes sense unless you're going to like burning man, which by
7:53 pm
the way is now called burning them. the point is, who in their right mind is wearing teleboots anywhere? nobody that i would know that i wouldn't take their car keys from. >> laura: the good thing is, teletubbies are gender fluid. so biden had an issue with reading the prompter. shocking. watch. >> richard blanco returned to a poem he wrote from the second inaugural of barack and me of every window -- of every county -- country. let me start over again. every window of one country. county. county. >> well, now we know -- now we know why the democrats always want the drag queens reading story hours. the president can't do it himself. >> laura: jimmy, when he said i
7:54 pm
