todd? >> todd: just when you thought this story could not getting get any more intriguing an attorney for stephen smith's family revealing after extraordinary sefolosha closure phone call after a phone call with mark kiehl the death of stephen smith is now considered a homicide. smith, once a classmate of alex murdaugh's oldest son buster was found dead in the middle of a south carolina road in 2015. his body discovered near the murdaugh's hunting lodge and three miles from where his car had run out of gas. police in south carolina treating the case as a hit and run. something smith's mother sandy never accepted. the case was reopened in june of 2021 brought to information brought to light into the investigation ever the murders of maggie and paul murdaugh news coming one day after buster his involvement documentaries on hbo and netflix revealed rumors of romantic buster and smith. buster writes these baseless movements in my involvement in

♪ >> ainsley: an alarming drug shortage in the united states causing hospitals to delay vital surgeries and cancer treatments. fox news medical contributor dr. nicole saphier joins us now. dr. saphier, good morning. >> good morning, ainsley. >> ainsley: good morning, i know this effects many of your patients as an oncologist or radiologist who deals with cancer all the time. what's happening? why this shortage? >> well, ainsley, first of all, we have to remind everyone drug shortages happen all the time. in fact, right now there are about 160 medications that are listed in short supply. this is nothing new. shockingly, 100 years ago we had our first drug shortage here in the united states. it was insulin. here we are a century later and still dealing with disruptions

to medication supply. it's very frustrating and really a combination between conflict issues and acute exacerbations. redepend on raw materials from china and india. slow regulatory, lack of transparency regarding supply. and then also increased use. what if something we saw over the winter we saw we had a lot of medications, antibiotics, ibuprofen in short supply. why was that because people were using them a lot more because of weakened immune systems coming out of the pandemic. now let's look at some of these cancer medications that are in short supply. it's very similar in the sense that cancer diagnoses were down 25% the last few years because of the covid-19 pandemic. people weren't going and getting their cancer treatments, their screenings. and now here we are we are having more cancer diagnoses and we are finding these medications in short supply. we have to do more than we can to manufacture these medications in the united states and have increased transparency with their regulation and supplies so that we don't have these issues
