to congressional republicans, demanding that alvin bragg testify over the trump-stormy daniel investigation. in the letter, he slams the gop, saying it's interfering, calling that an unlawful incursion into new york's sovereignty. hello, everyone. this is "outnumbered." i'm emi first let's go live had with the latest. brian? >> emily, good afternoon. in a new letter this morning from manhattan district attorney alvin bragg's office, responding to the house judiciary committee's request for bragg to handle the documents, and publicly testify about the possible indictment of former president trump, bragg's office called that unconstitutional and inappropriate. the letter went on from bragg's general counsel to accuse jordan of playing politics himself. quote, the letter only came after donald trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day, and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene. bragg's office says it's willing to meet with congressional staff to figure out what information, if any, can be provided. jordan sent you letters,

major dissension over the, quote, weakness of this case. emily? >> essentially the house judiciary committee is arguing one of prosecutorial abuse, abuse of power, and the prosecution responds with a jurisdictional point. >> alvin bragg, your letter is off base. he says this at what jim jordan and others are doing, is an unprecedented inquiry into a pend local prosecution. hate to tell you, alvin bragg, but the liberal "new york times," your buddy there, talk to election law experts and said never in the history has new york state brought a case about a federal election. you're the unpress denied one first. there are at least seven basises on which they look into this. first if federal funds are received by alvin bragg. he said, that's not one basis. he put a rebuttal. i didn't see the other six basis addressed in his letter. for instance, it's a federal election that you're looking into. congress has clear jurisdiction

there. federal election campaign laws might attached to the state charge. congress has an interest in that. this stemmed from the moeller probe. congress has an interest in that. 14th amendment clearly gives congress power in the event that you violated trump's rights. alvin bragg, must feel hot in his office, because his case is unraveling. look, you didn't waive attorney general privilege. here's a letter that said you did. last point here, here's what he said, neither the trump organization, nor the trump campaign, was a part to the transaction with ms. clifford, and neither reimbursed mr. cohen. once again, mr. cohen, the star witness, unraveling the case, good luck, alvin bragg. >> the way you laid it out is exactly right. congress does have a keen interest in what's going on there. the congress can pretty much

investigate anything at anytime. it suggests they can't do it because it's an ongoing investigation, hogwash. that's never slowed down congress ever. there's zero precedence for that. what jim jordan is saying is right. the key are the two prosecutors who quit. think about it. they quit and then wrote a book. they've essentially been campaigning on this, promising they were going to get trump, all about trump, the fact he's running for president, that he's been successful, that his policies were working. they can't afford, as the progressive democratic movement, to allow donald trump back into the political arena because he disrupts them. that disruption is just totally counter to what they want to accomplish. >> if i could say one sentence, if a congressional committee can get my social security number and leak it to the american public, they can look into alvin bragg. >> exactly, exactly. >> the case is weak, but the timing is brilliant.

this is also about joe biden. this isn't aqu a coincidence. the biden family received payments from a chinese energy company into -- you know, spread across the family members so as to avoid taxes and detection. so you have joe biden, you know, in the middle of all this circus, right? he's not getting asked questions. he's asked about it and he says it's a lie. it's not a lie. there's documents proving it. i look at the situation, and i don't really care that a former president -- by the way, pretty tough on china -- was getting payments from a porn star, this dangerous time we're in. china is ascending. we're on the decline financially, reputationally. we have a president in office right now who received payments from the chinese government, who's compromised. they want the circus, because they're not having to ask the questions they need to be asked. >> rachel, i couldn't agree with

you more. you are and i are so aligned. it's a pivotal time in u.s. history right now. whether you like donald trump or not, this is about the american people and our justice system. in a free country, laws are universal, tied to citizens equally. otherwise they aren't laws at all. if the democratic regime can threaten their biggest political opponent this way then our great republic is no longer. then it becomes a banana republic. some people will debate that. a banana republic, when high government officials pressure other officials to carry vendettas against political enemies and defend their friends against harsh treatment, exactly to your point. >> we are a banana republic. >> exactly. they're going after donald trump, and biden and the clintons are protected. this is disheartening for the american people, something we definitely need to watch out for. >> so we understand, you know, we understand this case is so

9:17 am
they're a chinese company. the ceo of tiktok can say all he wants, but at the end of the day he reports to bytedance. >> that's exactly right. that's what viewers need to understand. doesn't matter what security links the ceo goes to, explaining it goes through oracle in texas, where we store the data. all of the micro steps mean nothing compared to the law in china which states that every citizen and every company has to cooperate with the ccp and share data. it does not matter whatever america says, you need to divest yourself, store it here. none of that matters, because every single piece of data they are gleaning from there, they are giving to the ccp, and prioritizing that interest, including over financial gain. bowman stands there flanked by 30 influencers that tiktok enlisted the help of to curry favor on capitol hill right now. what a patsy.
