u.s. troops have come under attack 78 times by iranian backed groups. good morning. >> alexandria: good morning, according to defense department u.s. contractor was killed after a group crashed unmanned ariel vehicle into a building in northeast syria 1:30 local time. once determined it was iranian origin, the war posing group says eight iranian fighters were killed in that action. lloyd austin said the airstrikes were conducted in response to attacks by the group irgc. we will defend our people. no group will strike our troops with impunity.

republican congressman matt gates offered this, it is deeply sad to see americans killed and troops killed in syria. this is price of guarding oilfields in other countries. iran continue to stain desert sand with the blood of america's best. since 2021, air kurilla says u.s. troops have come under attacks by iranian backed groups and we will defend our people and respond at time and place of our choosing. we are postured in the face of any iranian attacks. enduring defeat of isis would benefit security and stability of syria and entire region. he added to congress, in that region, iran holds largest and most capable aerial vehicle force in the area. something to contend with.

showers and thunderstorms will turn severe later today into the overnight and saturday when finally it will start to weaken the storm system. today looking at significant threat. we think we will have a tornado outbreak across the areas stretching from louisiana to tennessee with that bullseye of greenville toward memphis and north of louisiana and we could see potential for ef-2+ tornado. big deal if you live in the areas in this hatched region, make sure you have access to watches and warnings as they come in. rain to come across tennessee and ohio river valley, that could bring flash flooding. big system, powerful one that will move across not only the south, we will see potential for a foot of snow for the northern plains, the upper midwest and great lakes. there is the snow forecast.

exactly what was transpiring, i contacted border patrol to find out details. i was advised they are experiencing the unprecedented surge here and probably would continue to bring people to our town to meet up with transportation needs, things of that nature in an effort to get ahead of this problem because our resources are limited. we're a small town and we don't have a lot of resources to take care of a lot of individuals. i did put a call into the governor's office, maybe we could get state involvement in regard to this issue and maybe get ahead of it. >> ashley: what was the response from our governor? >> it was great response within just 15 minutes i was receiving call from agency heads asking what i was experiencing and

their plan was to get together to see how they could mobilize to help in the effort. it was actually very responsive. >> ashley: good. obviously you're a small town, so why not -- did you ask them why not drop migrants at a sfrnth your city where they have resources to deal with it? >> i did. >> ashley: what did they say? >> they don't have resources to bring them there. they are overwhelmed. the border patrol has done a great job, they are doing everything they can. part of the impotus is to get them some help. they can't do it alone. we can't do it alone. many hands make small tasks. >> ashley: one last question, they told you they didn't have resources, were border patrol

his? >> no. we would see women in the tour de france instead of men if only they did. >> todd: this is science. what message does this give to women and girls who want to strife to be the best in your support and frankly in any sport? >> it is very disheartening. as a young woman, you look up to role models and you think the sky is the limit. you believe if you put in enough training, have talent and skill, that you could be the best. when you are forced to compete against males that have physical advantages, it is not reality anymore. >> todd: do you fear this movement to include biological males in women and girl sports is beginning of the end of women

sports despite all gains brought to women through title ix? >> i've certainly worried about that over the last four years, as i have faced this personally. i've seen more and more males entering women's races. i also have seen people beginning to speak up more and having a bit more courage to come forward with their story and say, this is not okay. women deserve equality and a protected space in which to pursue sports. >> todd: i dream about watching my two little girls participate in sports, i hope nothing interferes with that. thanks so much. janet yellen wants regulators to step in and bail out big banks. steve forbes will tell us what needs to be done. >> ashley: and you have to see

we can find of my career there at princeton. the few scant moments i made the court. it is fun to watch your alma mater, ivy league basketball, i think it is great basketball, it is not always consider the top of the top. this team plays well, they are smart, disciplined, they can shoot the ball well. they didn't shoot well against arizona and still won. this game against creighton. to be a small part of it, i was a pine rider for four years, i knew how to be the other team's best player in practice and watch the game from the sideline. i played one minute in a ncaa tournament game in 2001, my claim to fame, it is a great cinderella story, that is what
