>> jesse: fox news alert. one american has been killed in syria after an iranian drone strike. our u.s. air defenses went down. after we responded with a precision strike, more missiles near a u.s. base in syria. what the heck is going on? we have the latest from a white house correspondent. >> fox news has learned that more u.s. forces have been injured as a result of what you just pointed out, new iranian rocket attacks near eastern syria. some of the injuries we're told tonight may in fact be very serious. while the pentagon continues to assess its response, there are reports at this hour that more u.s. retaliatory strikes may have been launched. now this tit for tat began with iran proxy forces launched what u.s. officials believe was an

iranian-made drone that killed a u.s. contractor and wounded six other americans on thursday. then president biden ordered a series of retaliatory strikes in response, which were said to have killed eight iranians. then iran, as you said, using proxies in this circumstance, launching seven more rockets, targeting the base, and we talked about the other 20. now, there are assessments at this hour, and in particular we can tell you that in one of those those strikes there were no casualties or damage to the base, but that didn't stop the pentagon from apparently responding again tonight. now, in canada today, the president acknowledged being briefed on the situation, and he said, quote, we're going to continue to keep up our efforts to counter terrorist threats in the region, and partnerships with canada. other members of the coalition to defeat isis. of course, he's saying this knowing this continues to be the latest in the a series of tests. remember this, now, critics in

>> jesse: the l.a. pd messed up big. the lapd released the names, pictures and badge numbers of thousands of officers, including undercovers, and now all their lives are at risk. chief correspondent jonathan hunt has the story. jonathan? >> good evening, jesse. the main issue is the release of the identities of a certain number of undercover officers, which were apparently accidentally included when the lapd released the names and photos of thousands of the officers as part of a standard public records request that was made by an antipolice watchdog group called the stop lapd

spying coalition. the los angeles police department protective league is now calling for an investigation of lapd chief michael moore and a police administrator believed to have been involved in the release of that information. the chief has in fact himself already called for an investigation intothis all happened. he says california law compelled the department to act on the records request, but that, quote, it appears that once the decision was made to release the information, that appropriate safeguards were not put in place to ensure those assigned to sensitive investigations were not included, but many rank-and-file officers, while accepting that the lapd had a legal obligation to release the information when formally requested, believed they should have been forewarned that the information was about to be made public. of course they worry that it might compromise their safety. now, that antipolice activist
